Got something to say?

This team makes no sense. Karl Graves was a 4a 2nd team GSHLFOOTBALL.COM player, but he is a first team GSHLFOOTBALL.COM all-level all-star at WR. Brain I get that its your site and you can do what you want, but there is no credibility in that pick and so many more. Congrats to those who made it and deserved it.
Karl is raw. He didn’t make first team all league because he was injured half the season. Good pick bryan! He will be playing college ball for a good school.
Where’s Zach Browning on your D? He makes 1st team ALL-STATE at linebacker, but isn’t on your first or second team D!! Really? You bragged about him like he was your own son all year, and now you leave him off your all-star team? Wow!!
completely ridiculous picks… karl graves makes noooo sense, bemis is not a line backer, he is a d-line man, where are more skyview and union kids? brody heim was probably the third best db behind rengo and t nelson. weird picks… need more union people on d than one! lol how about lowe and newman first team? just weird.. and reiley henderson for reicver? idk whatever
Masmillion- all league is based on how you do in league
all level is based on how you do the whole season graves missed 2 of the for league games and only played the first half befor his injury in another league game so he only played 1 full league game. so to miss 3 really 4 games and still have the numbers he had is look pretty good to me!
I dont think he had any repeats, thats why
who is karl graves? can someone give me his stats?
I thought ellis henderson won defensive play of the year?
And why wouldn’t he be in any of these pictures?
Maybe because he signed with hawaii during the time these pics were takin?
Storm DYNASTY – Ellis was selected as the Coaches 4A All-GSHL Defensive Player of the Year. Ellis and all of the 1st team Skyview players were invited to come to Kiggins with the other 1st team players. However his dad said he and Reiley could not come. Then none of the Skyview players were allowed to show for some unknown reason. Jesse Zalk of Prairie missed the group photo because he is in Running Start and had a final at Clark, and Sam Ferenchak of Union had a band class at Union he was not able to miss. Other than that everyone was there. It was a very fun morning.
BRYAN BECAUSE ELLIS AND REILEY COULD NOT ATTEND KIGGINS BOWL THE REST OF THE SKYVIEW TEAM WERE NOT ALLOWED? SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE.HATE TO SAY IT, TWO PLAYERS DO NOT MAKE A TEAM!!!!NOT VERY FAIR FOR THE REST OF THE GUYS.
I did not say that is why they were not allowed to attend. Ellis’s dad said his boys could not miss school for the photo shoot. Then the rest of the Skyview players were not allowed to attend. I don’t have all of the answers. Either way, those of us who where there had a good time. We had 10 large Pizzas from Dominos, thanks to the Dominos in Hazel Dell! I guess that just left a few more slices for those who made it.
oh, well i just think it is messed up that those kids got excluded.
Love the new haircut, Odin. (playing basketball?) Nice looking young man. Good luck in college. Congrats to all the honoraries and best of luck in their future.
The reason the Skyview players were not allowed to go was because Kizer was upset that all of the equipment wasn’t turned in yet. I’m a close friend of Cody Fields, and I was there when Cody asked Kizer if they could go to the photo shoot. Kizer said no one was going to miss school for the photo shoot and was upset about the jerseys and other equipment that the players still have. And I belive Ellis was in Hawaii.
Karl Graves’ Stats over 3 varsity seasons
108 catches 2nd all time to ellis henderson at Skyview
1900 yards 1st all time at Skyview
25 touchdowns 1st all time at Skyview
Great Job Bryan!
Sure there could be a few picks that could go some different directions…
What a great fantasy game it would be to see the 1st team play the 2nd team.
So who’s the special teams player of the year??
We have never given out a Special Teams player of the year. If we had, It would have been Ellis Henderson. I think seeing the 2 teams play would be a lot of fun. Maybe 1st team O & 2nd team D vs 2nd team O and 1st team D. I guess we will just have to settle for the Shrine game this summer. 15 of our 1st team players would be on the east team, and 12 on the West team.
Can’t wait to watch Ellis on tv. Hawaii is an amazing opportunity. Hope he does well!!
Cedrique hardly returned kicks for kelso, punts yes but kicks no. And it is a shame there is no Ben Warthen on the list as a safety. Made the move there from linebacker this year and had a great year being the leader of an inexpieriened secondary that surprisingly played very well.
Great stats for the Graves kid. Too bad they pale in Comparison to the Lyons kid @ Heritage who was voted first team all- league and first team 4a wr for GSHLfootball.com. He did that in one less season then Graves
2 varsity seasons:
152 catches
2112 yards
22 touchdowns
Yeah well its hard getting amazing stats when there are talented receivers all around him. Ellis, reiley, and forest have to get the ball to. Not to mention skyview also runs the ball a good amount of the time.
And not to mention Graves only played in about half the games this year maybe
Photo shoot, if it was in the past week, Ellis was in Hawaii, Reilly was suspended. True that.
We did the Photo shoot on Monday, Dec 6th. Ellis was back from Hawaii. I spoke on the phone with his dad who told me he would not let him go because he did not want him to miss school. Not a huge deal. Just good to keep the facts straight when I know them. The bottom line is, it is just too bad for all of the Skyview kids, they missed out on a fun day. Hopefully next year we can get 100% turnout. Who knows, if all goes well, we will invite the 2nd team for pictures as well since a lot of the 1st and 2nd team kids were very hard decisions to make.
any truth to the rumor that the head football coach at Camas will be coaching 3rd base for the Papermakers?
fan234… i dont care about karl’s stats over 3 seasons. im talking about this year because i never saw him doin anything more than the union recievers. but if u grade people by there past seasons then thats kind of un fair
Joe Joe BeansHallead is best football and baseball coach in Camas history, just ask him. Shame on the Graves pick. Reilly Hendu is so much more talented.
i agree with everyone who said this were ridiculous picks, first off you cant NOT have an ALL STATE linebacker in your first team defense that just doesnt make sense to me, second of all how is PJ JONES on second team, that kid deserved OFFENSIVE Player of the year for 3A and that was already taken away from him now you put Marshall over him COME ON!!!
MATT not good enough reason
U… this season Graves had 29 catches for 540 yards and 7 tds while missing 4 games
that was 2nd most yards on the team to riley henderson with the third most cathces.
he did not play against union thats why you did not see him!
why didn’t graves play against union? which games did he miss?
the picks on D is a joke
Graves was injured with some sort of high ankle sprain which most players miss 6 to 8 week with.
He missed one half of evergreen, river, union, and Todd beamer,
He was injured right before half in the egreen game and his first game back was against auburn i believe.
Thanx Bryan. I just wanted to get things straight because people were saying that he didn’t make first team.
air-it-out i agree with you. Benny had a great year and is one of the toughest and hardest working kids around. Just had his third shoulder surgery in three years all related to football, but he kept toughing it out. Stats arent everything.. Benny is just the playmaker.
yeah ben got it done no matter where he was at. he pretty much was the boss of the secondary and made sure everyone was doing their job. all around good player because he would play LB and play back. very well rounded player.
Its kinda wierd how this league team works.. A 1st team player is a player on a winning team basically. But i could name a couple of players who should have been first team players but i guess since they where surrounded by a team that played pretty bad this year they get no looks.. hmmm?
I thought there should have been more Fort guys. At least one. Give everybody some love. Oh wait
Patrick Crawford OL Sr. Fort Vancouver, Jesse Zalk PR Jr. Prairie, Andy Bemis LB Sr. Heritage, Nolan LaValley OL Sr. Heritage. Those guys were on BAD teams. Fort Vancouver, Prairie and Heritage had a combined record of 9-19, and Prairie the best record at 4-5. Please let us all know of the deserving players from Battle Ground, Evergreen and Huson’s Bay that were ROBBED! We are all waiting
tht doensnt make him 1st team all level? ben lyons did better than tht… and plenty other kids.
U….. look how many catches lyons had this season!! and he did not miss any games! also Heritage passed every down because they had no run game like Skyview who also had many other good players around Graves. Lyons was the only athlete heritage had this year thats why his stats were so good. think before you speak on this site.
1st team all level isnt based on what players you have around your team or wat kind of offense you run.. its about skill level and stats. and by wat im lookin at lyons had better stats in every recieving category than graves. so u can think before u speak on this site
the team is not so much stat driven as you might think. I am sure things are taken into consideration such as does this player play a full game, or do they sit a lot because their team is up by a lot in the 2nd half. Also, maybe what kind of player you are for your position counts. For example, you don’t want to have 3 WR’s who all are screen guys and get their yards that way, because you need a guy to go over the middle and a guy to go down field. But hey, what do I know!
Its easy to have stats in Lyons’ position. Heritage throws 60% screens. How do you think Garrett Grayson had good efficiency without the ability to really throw well downfield?
? – that is a good screen name for you because comment #45 was most definitely questionable. As a senior, Garrett had outstanding ability to get the ball downfield. As a junior, Garrett had great short to intermediate accuracy, but struggled with downfield throws. He muscled deep passes. He worked hard in the offseason between his junior and senior year and developed a FANTASTIC deep ball. He was blessed with the physical gifts, but experience, coaching, and hard work get you the goods. It’s wrong to come on here and insult one player, but don’t compound your obvious jealousies by insulting another – one who happens to be entering the Colorado State program this winter and is being trained by Ty Detmer down in Texas. Get a life, man!
Guess who the COlumbian picked as All Region Player of the Year? Certainly the Columbian knows who the number one prospect/athlete in the region is! CERTAINLY a legit bigtime media outlet wouldn’t make the same “mistake” this website did. OH WAIT. It’s ZAK BROWNING. AGAIN. Wow, everybody seems to be picking Browning. I don’t get it? Why not that other guy? Awww.
YOU’RE MY BOY, BROWNING AND I IWLL NEVER FORGET!! EVEN THOUGH I DON”T KNOW YOU!
People keep talking about stats, stats, stats. Is there a stat sheet that regular joes can look at for all the players?
I have a question I was hoping someone could answer. South Bend won the state 2B championship. The Seattle Times quoted their RB as saying he wasn’t just playing to get the trophy and he wasn’t just playing to get the ring, he was playing for the whole community. A nice response. My question is, if you win a state football championship do the players get rings?

Really? Only athlete? No run game?

What about their team touchdown leader Michael Rivers? What about the 4A leading passer Riley O’Dell? What about their All League Corner Rahjeem Carrie? Or their Right tackle getting letters from Eastern and Army? The team had plenty of Athletes just the lack of commitment and coaching is what I think haunted Heritage this season.
MM fan – When Evergreen won state in 2004, the coaches and players had the option of buying a state championship ring. They were not given to the players or coaches, they each had to pay for them themselves. Cost was between $200-$500.
If I do recall Lyons missed a game or two for injury or grades. In actuality Skyview threw more passes than Heritage this season as well.
Thank you Bryan. Now, how does everyone know what all the players stats are?
Its easy to be the leading passer when you throw every down and only screen passes.
good for that right tackle letters really mean a lot….
weird lyons that you speak so highly of didn’t make the all region time!
hey how is he doing in basketball….? ha
fan234 “Its easy to be the leading passer when you throw every down and only screen passes.

Um, yeah, over 1600 yrds passing in just over 6 games throwing nothing but screen passes. You are clueless fan234. As for that RT, he was one of the supeior lineman in the GSHL this season. Both players had fantastic seasons for their team in my opinion as did a few others. As I recall from an earlier season poster, keep hating, it only fuels the engine.
I am not hating but if i were a heritage fan i would not call this season a success or fantastic…. ha
but hey thats why we can all have opinions even if they are wrong
You have to believe that things are gonna change at HHS. They went from 7, 5, 4, 3 wins in 4 seasons.
hey GSHL football fan. check out some of the heritage highlights. 234 has a pretty solid point i mean not ALL of the yard came via the screen pass but a good amount sure did. heritage didnt really have much of a downfield passing attack this year
Sad to see Coe cut his hair thought it looked good under a helmet.
Congrates to lavally he worked hard for this. Glad I got to play with him.
Evergreen had players? Name some I didn’t see any athletes that played consistant. So can anyone name some?
Hey Bryan explain to me how Raheem Carrey was a “UNANIMOUS” yes unanimous….heard from the meeting…. coaches all league team at corner but cannot make your team. Heritage arguably had the toughest schedual around, he consistantly shut out receivers..and yes one was your boy Henderson at Skyview…..and was a dominant tackling force as well. Probably the best talented, true corner I have ever witnessed to come through this league!! Man I just don’t get it, I have to agree with post #38, do you just look down the rosters of the teams that have great records and pick out names, or do you actually do some homework, watch film, go to games or even talk to coaches in the league? “Come on Man” If every coach in the league said yes this our guy, after coaching against him, that has to have some merrit!!! Just another case of disrespecting fine schools and athletes due to their win/loss columns!!!!!!!
Doug, Rajheem is on my team. He is on the 2nd team Defense as a DB. Congrats for him for being a unanimous 4A pick at DB by the coaches. If you saw my 4A all league team, he was also on the 1st team with Ellis. As you know, there are only the 5 teams to pick kids from for the 4A teams, where my All Level All-Star team has 17 schools to choose kids from. With a much larger pool of players to choose from, we went with Brent Hill from Camas ahead of Rajheem and as the 3rd best CB among the 17 schools, in our opinion, that put him on the 2nd team defense. I don’t expect you to agree with every selection I make, just like nobody agrees with every selection the coaches make for their all-league teams and nobody agrees with every selection the paper makes for their all-region team. I am excited that Rajheem is only a Junior, and if he is back at Heritage next year, I will look forward to seeing him play.
Raheem Carrie kid easily will be the highlight reel for the GSHL next season. Kid can play and nobody even challenged him in the air. More importantly when a team ran to his side, he “stuck” kids and made tackles. Unlike those suggested as “all-stars” this kid can play the run. Not intentionally get blocked or put their head down looking for a miracle tackle.
So for a DB to make it you need Picks?
It appears Rajheem made GSHL 4A 1st team and the 2nd Team GSHL All League at DB as well as 1st team 4A All League as selected by coaches. Quite outstanding for his first year.
As good as he was this season, I would disagree that he is the best corner to ever come through the GSHL though. That is a stretch.
Rajeem from the games I saw vs other corners stands out for not only shutting a side of the field off, but he always was there for tackles and kept his poise. I know a certain “great pick” at corner seemed to get blocked at times convienently and even took off his helmet in frustration when he was getting man-handled down his home field.
U – Evergreen had Chase Lawrence and Richie Townsend….aaaaand thats about it as far as good athletes goes that I saw from the Plainsmen this year.
It’s to bad Rajeem Carrie won’t have any athletes surrounding him, besides Michael Quintana. Should be pretty sound at corner next year with the two of them.
Hey Dhizzle4shizzle… I mean Doug Harris…
I would agree with High School Football fan 1.. Saying he’s the best true corner to come through the GSHL ever…? That’s quite a statement.
First of all “Goodcall” or what ever name you want to hide behind, If you read my quote it says “Probably the best talented, true corner “I” have ever witnessed to come through this league! ……That is my own opinion after playing in this league, watching this league for many years and coaching in this league. Best “talented” true corner is not a stretch at all. The kid can run & jump with anybody that has ever come through this league, tackle anybody that has come through this league and he is also a big student of the game and doesn’t make bonehead mistakes. I played D1 safety and have been around a lot of great players in the secondary, as well as playing along side our corner, a guy who played 12 years in the NFL. I don’t know what your background is with the secondary, or playing, coaching or even watching this kid, but I know him real well. Just an educated observation, you can disagree all you want, that is what this site is all about.
Hey ‘Goodcall” you really sound like some disgruntled ex-player or parent who’s kid didn’t play. Who were the great athletes that were surrounding him this past season that won’t be there next. That was just an ignorant statement from a guy that knows nothing about their team!
Ahhhh yeah, I forgot. I’m sorry, best YOU have ever witnessed. Because when you were playing your D1 college football over at Eastern Washington, you must have not “witnessed” these two kids named Kyrell Hudsen and James Monk. They were AMAZING atheletes.
And no, my son had his fare share of time in the purple uniforms this year.
I agree “Goodcall” that those two kids were great athletes, but I guarantee without a doubt “defensively” Carrey is just as good or better than either one of them. He is just a junior also sir! And yes like I suspected a disgruntled parent who truly believes thier son is better than he really is. I know who you are, and had a pretty good idea all along!
Thanks Bryan for pointing out the 2nd team, I didn’t see it in the paper. I understand about all 17 schools…..could be very difficult to pick from!
Thank you bryan! Why didnt the columbian have a k/p in their all region selection?
Kyrell was an amazing athlete but was not the best of DB’s. If i recall right he didnt even play DB in most of the games his junior and senior year. Also there were and are other athletes that were very good corners. Andrew White was probably the best shut down corner two years ago. Ellis didnt have a catch against him. Either did CJ. He was no push over either.
O Evergreen had a Good corner too he shutdown recivers and was fast..
Evergreen had good EVERYTHING until Union opened. THAT’S WHY I’M UNIONGREEN FAN. It is Uniongreen okay. Don’t. You. Ever. Forget.
Bryan, will you be posting the AP All-State Team?
Will you be doing another all level all-stars this year?
We are finalizing our 2011 All Level All-Star teams now. Hang tight, they will be in soon.
Thanks Bryan!
