Austin got hurt up in Everett at the all state game. He will be red shirting at Central Washington this year as well. I sure was sad when I heard he would not be playing.

Hey where was Doug Van Aalst???

  4. Bryan Levesque on July 28th, 2010 5:29 pm

Doug was not invited to play in the game. There is a lot of good players that graduate each year, and only so many can be on each team. Also, there was 3 additional schools to pick the kids from this year with the addition of Kelso, R.A. Long and Mark Morris. We do wish Doug the best of luck as he will be playing Division II football at the University of Mary this fall.

I recall being shouted down about risking injury (& a college education) to play in an all star game……hmmmm.

Nothing but supportive wishes for Austin Dodge, an absolute talent and a pleasure to watch.

Thanks Bryan, the reason I asked was because Van aalst is going to a D2 school. Which is a much higher level of play than other colleges that players will be attending. So I thought that he might be good enough if not better suited than other players to participate. But oh well, whats done is done.

Bryan, do you have acess to any attendece figures for the Freedom Bowl Classic’s since it’s beginning, I attended once in 2006 temp at game time was high 90’s in fact I believe that year they let the clock run in 2nd half to speed things up and shorten the game, if my memory serves me right attendence that nite was about 1,000 people. Keep up the good job Bryan!

With the opening kickoff just a short 5 weeks away, can we start a thread about week 1 match ups and predictions. I realize it is hard with so much turnover and change of scenery for teams changing conferences but predictions are what they are and will be fun to see how they turn out. Let’s discuss a winner & why and which one game from week 1 at each level intrigues you the most and why…

    Week 1, 4A
    Battleground vs. Columbia River
    Evergreen vs. Mt. View
    Heritage vs. Issaquah
    Skyview @ Prairie
    Union vs. Bellevue (Seattle)

    Week 1, 3A
    Camas vs. Timerline (Seattle)
Columbia River @ Battleground (See above)
    Fort Vancouver @ Ridgefield
    Hudson Bay vs. Washougal
    Kelso vs. Mark Morris
Mt. View vs. Evergreen (See above)
    Prairie @ Skyview (See above)
