2011 4A GSHL Football ScheduleWe are now less than 6 weeks away from the kickoff of the 2011 high school football season. So here is the 2011 4A Greater St. Helens League football schedule. We will release the 2011 3A GSHL football schedule followed by the 2011 2A GSHL football schedule, so keep looking back often.

Battle Ground opens the 2011 season at Columbia River for the first time since 2008 when the Chieftains defeated the Tigers 27-9. This will be the 4th straight season the two open with each other. Columbia River won last season 27-3 at District Stadium. Battle Ground last defeated Columbia River in 2009 with a 42-23 home win. The Tigers are 6-5 in season openers since 2000. The Tigers are 5-25 versus Columbia River since 1970 while going 0-14 at Chieftain Stadium in that time.

Battle Ground fell to the Trappers 45-27 last year at Kiggins Bowl in their first road meeting since 2002. Their last meeting at District Stadium resulted in a  24-20 Tigers win in 2002. Battle Ground is 12-15 versus the Trappers since 1970 with a  7-6 home record.
Woodland
Battle Ground defeated Woodland 20-14 in double overtime last year at District Stadium for the Tigers lone victory of the 2010 season. That was the only meeting between the two older schools in recent memory. The Tigers are 7-0 versus 2A schools in the last 9 seasons. The Tigers also have wins over Hockinson, Centralia, R.A. Long and Washougal over that span.
at H.B.
Hudson’s Bay knocked off the Tigers 35-14 at District Stadium last year. Battle Ground will play at Hudson’s Bay for the first time since 2004 when the Eagles beat the Tigers 28-26 at Kiggins Bowl. Battle Ground last defeated Hudson’s Bay in 2005 with a 21-10 home victory and last defeated the Eagles at Kiggins Bowl in 2003 with a 20-6 win. From 2002-2005 the two schools split 4 games, with each team winning a home game and a road game. Battle Ground is 10-16 versus Hudson’s Bay since 1970 while going 5-8 at Kiggins Bowl.
Evergreen
The Tiegers and Plainsmen have played every season since 1993 with Evergreen taking 17 of the 18 games. Evergreen defeated the Tigers 38-14 at McKenzie Stadium last year. Battle Ground’s lone win was a 52-35 road win in 2001. The last time Battle Ground won at home over Evergreen was in 1975, a 29-14 Tigers victory.
at Skyview
Last season Skyview defeated Battle Ground 52-0 at District Stadium. In 2009.  Skyview won 55-7 at Kiggins Bowl. Battle Ground has dropped 6 straight to the Storm with their last win coming in 2004, a 28-21 road win. Battle Ground is 2-8 all time versus Skyview and 1-4 versus the Strom at Kiggins Bowl.
Union
Last season was just the 2nd meeting between Union and Battle Ground when the Titans beat the Tigers 56-3 at McKenzie Stadium. The only other meeting was in 2008, also at McKenzie Stadium where Union also won 59-10. This season will be their first meeting at District Stadium.
at Heritage
The Tigers have dropped 5 straight to the Timberwolves including a 43-37 shoot out at home in 2009 and a 62-6 loss last year, also at District Stadium. Their last win over Heritage was in 2005, a 14-12 victory on the road. Their last meeting at McKenzie Stadium was in 2008 when Heritage won 34-6. Battle Ground and Heritage have played 12 times with both schools winning 6 games. Battle Ground is 3-2 versus the Timberwolves at McKenzie Stadium.
Prairie
Battle Ground wraps up the 2011 regular season with a non-league matchup versus in-district rival Prairie. Prairie ended the Tigers 4 game series win streak with a 49-13 victory last year. Battle Ground defeated the Falcons 39-6 in 2009.  Battle Ground has won 13 of the last 16 games between the two schools. The two schools are 19-19 all time versus each other since Prairie opened in 1979.

Evergreen

at Mt. View
Evergreen will play Mountain View in week 1 for a second straight season. Last year Evergreen fell to the in-district rival Thunder 35-7, their 3rd consecutive loss to Mountain View. Evergreen’s last week 1 win over Mountain View was in 1987 a 21-0 Plainsmen win. Evergreen’s last win over Mountain View was in 2007, a 28-27 Plainsmen victory. Evergreen is 6-7 all time versus Mountain View in week 1 games. Evergreen is 20-17 all time versus the Thunder and 11-7 in their white jerseys.
Lakes
Last season Evergreen fell 54-14 to the Lancers on the road. That is the only time the two schools have ever played. Lakes defeated Camas 27-24 in overtime at Doc Harris Stadium last fall in the 3A Quarterfinals.
at Rich.
Evergreen fell at home to the Bombers 34-14 last year. Evergreen’s only game at Richland was in 1997, a 35-15 Richland victory. The Plainsmen’s only win over Richland came in 1998 when the Plainsmen defeated the Bombers  20-13. Evergreen is 1-2 all time versus Richland.
Eisenhower
Like Richland, Eisenhower and Evergreen played for the 3rd time in school history last year. The Cadets defeated Evergreen in Yakima 48-26 in their first matchup since 1967. Evergreen lost to the Cadets 21-0 on the road that year and also lost at home 32-0 in 1966 in the only other meetings between the two schools.

Evergreen defeated Battle Ground 38-14 last year at McKenzie Stadium. They also defeated Battle Ground 24-7 in 2009 at District Stadium. Evergreen has won 9 straight over Battle Ground and 17 of the last 18. Evergreen has not lost at Battle Ground since 1975, a 29-14 Tigers victory. The two schools have played each other every season since 1993 in a series that dates back to 1947.
at Kelso
Evergreen lost 21-13 to the Hilanders at home last season, falling at home to Kelso in back-to-back seasons. Evergreen defeated Kelso at Schroeder Field in 2008, 52-14. That win was the 5th straight Plainsmen win over Kelso prior to the last 2 seasons. Kelso’s last win had been in 1997. The Plainsmen are 13-20 versus Kelso since 1970 including a 6-10 record at Schroeder Field.
Skyview
The Plainsmen fell to Skyview 42-3 last season at Kiggins Bowl. In 2009 Skyview topped Evergreen 28-14 at McKenzie Stadium. Evergreen and Skyview have split their last 6 games with Evergreen winning 2 of the last 3 at McKenzie Stadium . Evergreen is 7-3 all time versus Skyview.
at Union
Evergreen lost 48-0 last season to in-district rival Union. The Plainsmen are 0-3 all time versus the Titans and have been outscored 123-37.
Heritage
Evergreen will play Heritage to close out the regular season for just the second time. Last season Heritage knocked off the Plainsmen 31-21 with the final 4A GSHL postseason birth on the line. In 2009 the Plainsmen defeated Heritage 35-28. Evergreen is 9-3 all time in the series with their in-district rival.

at Issaq.
Heritage will travel to Issaquah for the first time ever in 2011. Last season, in the schools first meeting, Issaquah defeated the Timberwolves 41-13.
M.M.
Heritage lost on the road to Mark Morris last season 24-21. The Timberwolves and Monarchs have only played the one game. The last time Mark Morris played at McKenzie Stadium was in 1987 when the Monarchs fell 31-14 to Mountain View.
Skyview
The Timberwolves fell in overtime last season at Kiggins Bowl 28-21 to Skyview. Heritage has dropped 3 straight to the Storm, last winning 55-28 at McKenzie Stadium in 2007. Heritage is 4-8 all time versus Skyview going 3-3 at McKenzie Stadium.
at Mt. View
Heritage lost to Mountain View last season 30-29 snapping a 3 game win streak over their in-district rivals. The Timberwolves defeated Mountain View 28-21 in 2009. Heritage is 4-8 all time versus Mountain View.
Grant
Heritage defeated Grant of Portland on the road last season 27-26 in the two schools first meeting. The Generals have only played 1 game at McKenzie Stadium, where they defeated Evergreen 28-7 in 1979.
at Union
Heritage is 0-3 all time versus Union. The Timberowlves lost last season 56-14. They have been outscored 161-55 in the series between in-district rivals.
Camas
Heritage lost at home to Camas last season 34-15 at Doc Harris Stadium to fall to 0-5 all time versus the Papermakers. In 2009 the Timberwolves lost 42-27 to Camas at McKenzie Stadium to open the season.

Heritage rolled over the Tigers 62-6 last season at District Stadium for their 5th consecutive win in the series.  Battle Ground’s last win over Heritage was a 14-12 win at McKenzie Stadium in 2005. Prior to the Timberwolves 5 game win streak, they had dropped 5 in-a-row to the Tigers. Heritage is 6-6 all time versus Battle Ground.
at Ever.
Heritage will play Evergreen to close out the regular season for just the second time in 2011. Last season, the Heritage defeated the Palinsmen 31-21. Evergreen knocked off the Timberwolves 28-21 in 2009. Heritage is 3-9 all time versus in-district rival Evergreen.

Sherwood
Skyview lost last seasons opener on the road, falling 42-28 to the Bowmen of Oregon.  That was the only meeting between the two schools. Sherwood finished the season 13-0 and won the Oregon 5A State Championship. Sherwood’s last game in Clark County was in 2003 when they lost at Ridgefield 41-19.
at CD’A
Skyview defeated Coeur d’Alene last season at Kiggins Bowl 36-34. The Vikings only suffered the one loss all season as they completed an 11-1 record capturing the Idaho 5A State Championship.
at Heritage
Skyview defeated Heritage 28-21 in overtime at Kiggins Bowl last season for their 3rd consecutive victory in the series. In 2009 they knocked off the Timberwolves 33-7 at McKenzie Stadium.  Heritage last defeated Skyview in 2007, a 55-28 Timberwolves win at Kiggins Bowl. Skyview is 7-4 all time versus the Timberwolves including a 2-2 mark at McKenzie Stadium.
Camas
Skyview lost to the Papermakers at Doc Harris Stadium last season 28-12. In 2009 the Storm defeated Camas 28-26 at Kiggins Bowl. Skyview is 3-1 all time versus the Papermkars including a 2-0 record at Kiggins Bowl.
at Lincoln
Skyview defeated Lincoln of Portland at home last year 49-26 in the two schools only meeting. Skyview has never played on the road versus a Portland Interscholastic League team. The Storm are 0-4 all time in games played in Oregon.

Skyview defeated Battle Ground 52-0 last year at District Stadium for their 6th consecutive win in the series. In 2009 they beat the Tigers 55-7 at Kiggins Bowl. Battle Ground’s last win over Skyview was in 2004 at Kiggins Bowl a 28-21 Tigers win. Skyview is 8-2 all time versus Battle Ground including a 4-1 record at Kiggins Bowl.
at Ever.
Skyview beat Evergreen 42-3 at Kiggins Bowl last season. In 2009 they topped the Plainsmen 28-14 at McKenzie Stadium. Evergreen blew out the Storm 41-17 at Kiggins in 2008. In 2007 Skyview lost a thriller at McKenzie Stadium 20-11. Skyview is 3-7 all time versus Evergreen including a 1-3 record at McKenzie Stadium.
at C.R.
Skyview defeated in-district rivals Columbia River 48-13 at Kiggins Bowl last year for their 5th consecutive victory in the series. In 2009 Skyview beat the Chieftains 23-0 at Chieftain Stadium. Skyview’s last loss to Columbia River was in 2005, a 18-14 loss at Chieftain Stadium. Skyview is 6-7 all time versus Columbia River including a 3-4 mark at Chieftain Stadium.
Union
Skyview faced Union to end the 2010 regular season for the first time as league rivals. With the 4A GSHL title on the line, Skyview knocked off the Titans for the first time winning 37-34. Last year the Storm fell at Union 14-9 to open the season. Skyview also dropped the 2008 season opener to Union, a 24-3 home loss. The two schools have only played the 3 times.

at Bothell
For the second season in a row, the Titans open their season playing the team who ended their playoff run the previous year. Union lost at Bothell 42-21 in last years preliminary round of the WIAA playoffs. The two schools had never played each other. Both schools had an open date since they each played another school in last years Emerald City Kickoff Classic at Qwest Field in Seattle.
at Enum.
Union defeated Enumclaw 38-7 last season at McKenzie Stadium in the two schools first meeting.
Westview
Union defeated Westview of Portland 34-14 last season. The Titans have never hosted a school from Oregon at McKenzie before.
at Kelso
Union beat Kelso last season 36-0 at McKenzie Stadium. They also defeated the Hilanders in 2007, 39-28 also at home. This will be the two schools 3rd meeting and first at Schroeder Field.
Mt. View
Union defeated Mountain View 10-0 last season in the first meeting between the two in-district rivals. The Titans are 7-0 versus the other 3 Evergreen School District schools (Evergreen, Heritage and Mountain View) all time.
Heritage
Union defeated Heritage 56-14 last season and 56-13 in 2009. The Titans are 3-0 all time versus the Timberwolves having won the 3 games by a combined score of 161-55. The Titans 7-0 versus the other 3 Evergreen School District schools (Evergreen, Heritage and Mountain View) all time.
at B.G.
Union defeated Battle Ground 53-3 at McKenzie Stadium last year. They also knocked off the Tigers 59-10 in 2008, also at McKenzie Stadium in the only other meeting between the two schools. Union is 1-0 all time at District Stadium having defeated Prairie 35-7 in 2008.
Evergreen
Union’s 48-0 win over Evergreen put the Titans at 3-0 all time versus their in-district rivals. Union also defeated the Plainsmen 45-23 in 2009 and have outscored Evergreen 123-37 in 3 meetings. The Titans 7-0 versus the other 3 Evergreen School District schools (Evergreen, Heritage and Mountain View) all time.
at Skyview
Union lost to Skyview for the first time last season, falling at home 37-34 to the Storm. That was the first meeting between the two as league rivals. In 2009 Union defeated Skyview 14-9 to open the season at McKenzie Stadium. Union also defeated Skyview 24-3 to open the 2008 season on the road at Kiggins Bowl. The schools have only played those 3 games.
