Got something to say?

The team that skyview plays next is from portland i thought???
it might be, I was told Lin. of Tacoma about 5 mo ago, and have never looked into it. I might have been told wrong, I will see what it is and update the site if need be.
i just looked at the lincoln hih school football schedule on their website and it says skyview:
http://www.ihigh.com/lincolncards/opencontent_4212.html
It is Lincoln in Portland.
Skyview really needs E. Henderson back in the lineup…cant help but think he would have made a difference on both sides of the ball! Camas is good solid team but they also have some work to put in before they get to post season
Union’s ground game looks very impressive and I think they should be #1 in Power Rankings right now; this is huge because they’re style keeps the high powered HS offenses that are so tough to stop these days OFF the field!
Skyview has to fix it’s inssues at QB to win the conference & make any serious noise in the post season…Camas will win their first (two, actually) 3A state playoff games ever this fall and Union looks like the favorite in 4A GSHL.
What was real cool about this game? The Camas band came to the Skyview side and played the Skyview fight song before the game.
Skyview has some very talented underclassmen. Russell, Morrison, R. Henderson, McDonagh, and Henry. And senior Nick Philips has a huge foot! Good football game. Not to take anything away from Camas but I wonder how it would’ve turned out with Ellis H. On the field.
I’ve never really walked around Doc Harris during the game, since I stand in the crowed then go to the field afterwards. But I was looking around and noticed hundreds of people standing by the fences, not only Skyview fans, but a lot of Camas fans. Did they not make the stadium big enough? Are they going to have to expand again? I know many people who don’t want to come because there isn’t enough room.
This game rocked! I was especially impressed with the Camas band, and the student turnout! I’ve never seen a school have that many student fans at a game!
While I DO think Ellis would have made a difference in this game, I don’t think it would have given the Storm the win. Camas was just too solid in almost every aspect of their playing!
The only negative thing I have to say about the whole thing is that I saw quite a few late hits coming from the Red side of the ball, and while I don’t think the refs were intentionally not calling them, I hope they pay a little better attention in the future because those are kind of things that can get players seriously injured.
I hope Skyview can use this game against Lincoln to get its kinks worked out at QB and give those LBs some more practice before they resume league play!
Good game, Camas! GO STORM!!
You guys are fine don’t worry about it! Take it out on Lincoln next week. League hasn’t even started to heat up yet so don’t even worry about this preseason bs. You can still play 14 games total and start 2-2 so get your goal but make sure you get your mind right and fix the little things! Younger kids, step up and become playmakers and lead the team cause your gonna have to do it eventually! Come together as a family and trust each other and you’ll be fine!
Goid
Good luck
Class of 2010
Camas is a really good team and has some great players! However… if Skyview had their best player on the field and Camas didn’t have 15 guys on the field (the refs) in the 1st half, I really think this game would have gone differently.
ha!! poor losers always blame the refs
now ur first statement bout ellis not playing i could see a change but we would of seen a whole different game because football is about momentum and that could of boosted skyview offense or it could boost camas defense but we will never know however camas won so be a good sport and congratulate camas on their win instead of blaming refs and making excuses of not having players it was a good game and camas was the better team that night
btw looking forward to skyview vs union should be a great game
Jeff, life is full of “howevers” “Shoulda, coulda, woulda”, but the best excuse is “if and buts were candy and nuts, we’d have Christmas everyday!”
They got beat, Camas won, move on! Who cares about the player that didn’t play. Listen to Greater Saint.
And like ive said before, football is a game of having great backups. You can throw a star player onto a team, but they might not have as big of an effect on the game because theyre the only star player. Its all about those other players stepping up once they go out. Parker Henry stepped up big, but nobody else really did.
Chaser- you better expect that student section to be that full every time!
Ya you should! Go Camas!
Camas isn’t even playing at their full potential. So basically if camas came totally together. It would have been embarrassing.
Can’t understand how a guy can clearly drop a pass and the ball hits the ground and the refs hand them the 1st down. not to mention the late hit on forest russell about 4 seconds after the whistle blew and no flag. the camas refs gave the paper fakers every opportunity to control that game.
Gohan, saying that if camas had played up to their potential, they would have won by more is a true for every single team. Or they would at least play much better. If Skyview had played to their potential and had Ellis playing, they would have won. but there are very few games where a team does everything right. So that’s why they play the games.
Football is a team sport last time I checked. And I just checked. So Ellis would have not helped. Maybe the yards and score. But not the outcome. But thanks for helping me understand coach chrish
Yes your right but when your star offensive and defensive player is out it makes a difference. When i watched the highlights i noticed that both brent hill’s and addison owens td’s were to the side where ellis’s backup was, or where he normally plays. and so im not saying that him in there prevents the td, but he is obviously a better defender, thats why he has started there 3 years.
ill tell you what if ellis makes it to the NFL and starts then ill say skyview could of beaten camas with him because he is that good and would of made a difference other wise i would of expected camas to defend him more so he is useless on both sides of the ball
Ellis would of made a difference..but not in the final win or loss…..I’m the biggest Camas honk alive but I also went to the “Idaho” game and Ellis made no difference (1 catch 3 yds)….what made the biggest difference in this game was that SV went down the field in 6-8 yd chunks every single play on the ground…they ate Camas insides out…then from the 1 yard line instead of staying with what they had been so successful with they went with a “power formation”…for what reason?…changed the snap count and were illegal procedure….then holding….I was sitting with another coach and we looked at each other with our mouths open……1st and goal…..then before the half…same thing…marched down the field…huge chunks on the run…..some reason felt the need to pass….Doesn’t mean I’m right but wow it brought back memories of the Battleground game last year….play to your strengths…passing is not Skyviews…..
The job #2 did on #6 (Hill on Graves) was as fine a job as I’ve seen in many years with two top athletes….not having Ellis allowed Camas to bring Owens over the top anytime he went deep….but I will tell you now if Ellis had been in
Camas would of had many options. Faulkner over the top on either side is not chopped liver especially if Marshall was the other corner…Plus I’ve yet to see anyone challenge #3 Jon Payne…he simply “brings the lumber”….great hitter…great anticipation for his size….he made a play in Qwest field for a pick that was as good as you will see….Anyway….you can all talk all you want about who and what and if…penalties were close to 80 yds for both teams…Camas got some breaks in the first half…SV in the second….and the refs didn’t fumble the option pitch or block the punt……Camas will get scored on this week I promise you against a very very good Prairie offensive team….Skyview will win out until Union…Union will win that game especially if #71 is out for the year with his knee he seemed to be SV’s best lineman….All three of these teams will make a good run in the playoffs past the first round…Camas will have the edge because they will get two games at Doc Harris….it will be a great October and November for anyone who likes High School football…
I think it was a good game. I was kinda bummed Ellis didn’t play. He’s really exciting to watch and he is a D-1 Recruit, probably the best player in the area. It’s like if Camas had not had Addison Owen on the field, it makes things harder, but hey its a non-league game so its easier to take I guess.
Back from the grave- are you talking about irvines pass? He had control, fumbled, abd recovered his own fumble. Paperfakers? Really? Grow up.
that was a very questionable call but there were MANY “no calls” on camas. Lots of late hits and the wort was the no calls for the linebackers calling out skyviews snap counts 5 or 6 times. thats just horrible officiating.
I love it when people blame the referees for a loss… Seriously. You can’t give camas any credit?
I thought Camas played a good game but they were calling out the snap counts (per several of the players) and #57 should have been ejected after two personal fouls – including one incredibly blatant foul on the Skyview punter WAY after the play was dead.
refs make mistakes all the time high school football to the NFL it happens and to blame a game over it is unsportsmanlike
I did give credit to camas. they played well. I just don’t think they are a better team.
Our linebacker got a penalty for yelling the count. Don’t worry the referees were present and doing their job. Ellis is good but he isn’t that good. Camas has so many different options. Jeremy Faulkner for instance had one catch. And he is arguably one of our top recievers. So with Ellis on Addison we could just throw it to the other side. Or Brent. Not to mention Miguel. Our most powerful receiver. He sheds blocks left and right. Camas has way too many weapons. We could have got past Ellis. You are a solid team but think the Ellis excuse is getting a tad old.
I dislike them both but the better team won, period!!
I have to give it to Camas, they are a great team and are absolutly loaded. It was a great learning experience for us storm and we’ll be ready next week to blowout Lincoln (which I’m pretty sure is in portland, not Tahoma).
I’m not taking anything away from skyview. They are a very good team I’m just saying one player cannot take down a whole team. Especially a team like camas. Ellis is very good it was unfortunate he could not play.
hard hitter number 71 riley bockmier is not skyview’s best lineman. and everybody else the officiating was awful. it would of helped alot if the refs wernt one sided.
Gohan. what you dont understand is Ellis plays a side not a reciever. He pretty much locks up any reciever that lines up across from him. they play that mold cover two type thing and ellis has been playin corner on the same side for 3 years now. Im pretty sure the combination of corners between Parker henry and ellis is a much better combo then whoever else they have. add in mo morrison and that secondary is good. now take out ellis and those reciever screen plays get a little easier to run. those short throws get a little bit easier. it gets to be a little bit tougher to throw a deep pass. ellis may not of swung the game into camas’ favor but he would of made that defense and that offense a heck of a lot better then what they showed
I have watched that Henderson kid for several years and he is good, by far the best at his position in the GSHL. The game would have been closer with him in the game. But, his replacement played well. Don’t take anything away from the others on the team that worked hard and got better because Henderson was down for this game. They will be stronger and a better team because of this!
Wow, lets not make the Henderson kid bigger then he really is. Been a longtime supporter of the Storm program and he is not better then Graves or his brother. Talented yes, but far from the elite. Last time I checked he lined up against the Lyons kid from Heritage and Mitchell and they torched him for over 150 yards combined. Lyons also blocked him so hard he took his helmet off in frustration. He is not getting these “double teams” week in and week out as Skyview fans perceive. The Carey kid from Heritage followed him everywhere and limited him to 50 yards. The Sherwood team treated him like any normal WR and his only big play was credited to his lineman blocking well on a tunnel screen. Ceur d’lANE bracketed him at times but he never steeped up to make a play on O or D. I hope he returns this week with something to prove.
Skyview people stop talking about the Camas game it’s over, HISTORY, if you keep dwelling on all the what if’s you will get rocked during conference play. Don’t underestimate your next opponet, there’s so much football to play yet, it’s like you Skyview fans have given up, I am not even a supporter, I shouldn’t have to come on here and pump you up for the season.
If camas keeps giving Skyveiw crap for that game just remind them what happened with the union game last year.
Im sure they still remember
If Henderson is so mediocre then why is he the most recruited player in the GSHL?
E.will 23, just out of curiosity, in 10 years from now, are you still going to be using the “Camas is good again this year. Quick! Remind them of the 2009 Camas/Union game!”
Give it up, youre living in the past. Which is what all Union supporters seem to do. (Generally of course) “Back when we went to the dome” and “Back to the Camas game”. How about playing in the here and now to get to the Dome this year.
Ahh dude mmbc remember way back in 2008 when we beat union? If union ever gets cocky we can use that… Im sure they remember….. sounds rediculous right e.will?
I think you mean 2007
Yeah and I believe last year skyview was beating union an union came back and beat them too… Hmm. Weird.
@Trunks If i remember correctly union scored first to make it 7-0. then skyview to make it 7-7. union then scored again to make it 14-7. then skyview only was able to get a safety i believe. i am pretty sure skyview never led the game. and the union skyview game was scoreless in the first 3 quarters. both teams looked very rough in that game.
Storm pride, Skyview kicked a field goal early in the 4th quarter to break up the 0-0 tie, then union scored 2 touchdowns, making it 14-3. then Skyview scored a TD and went for a 2 point conversion to try and make it a 3 point game, but missed it to get the game to the 14-9 final score.
Just a side note, one of the best things about football is reliving it why do you think there is so many “old men” at the games? As far as Union goes “the dome” is current events, they are getting better every week and will be ready for the playoffs.
As far as people rehashing woulda, shoulda, coulda, Just remember, the Titans have not lost in Clark county in two years, and all these power rankings don’t mean anything, until somebody beats them, they should be ranked #1, it’s just silly that they are ranked anything else here in Clark county.
Should be a good game tonight.
GO TITANS
The people in charge of the site are in charge of the rankings on here, and just because they havent lost to a team in the gshl for 2 years doesnt mean they get the automatic spot to number 1.
Lets say that after last year, Union lost EVERYBODY. Just awful. Should they have started the season as pre ranking number one? of course not. IF they were that bad, they dont deserve to be that high. An example of course, dont be so quick to jump on this one…
MMBC,
I agree, This is Brian’s site and if he wants, he can put Washugal #1 if he wants, but when you factor the staunchy defense Union is playing, with the unreal #’s being put up by the running game (forget the fact Brody-Heim hasn’t even got started yet) and the fact that The Titans record over not just this year but the last couple of seasons, makes for a pretty compelling reason for #1. Tonight I believe is the first common opponent, I am hoping for a great game, but The Titan’s would have to totally dismantle Mt. View in order for them to get the #1 ranking that I feel they have earned.
Anyway MMBC, I have seen Camas (watched the Storm game) they are impressive and because of the scheduling, even if both teams run the table in clark county, it will just be a good debate, we will have to use common opponents and such.
Have a great season, hope we have 3 or 4 teams at the dome (don’t know if that will be possible) but hopefully the GSHL has a great showing so they get more respect up north.
Go TITANS
I am glad for Henderson and all the other atheltes being recruited in the GSHL. Some are underrated and some are over rated. Henderson has the potential and a “high ceiling” unfortunately this season against other recruited and unrecruited athletes he has been far from dominate. Hopefully he returns for my STORM 2nite and puts on a beasty showing.
Dude, skyview scored tD first, then Union scored. Final score was Union 28, Skybiew 3. I would know I WAS THERE.
Evergreenfam what are you talking about? skyview score a td and only scored 3 points? and uh skyview and union never had a final score of 28 to 3. the first year the score was 24 to 3
MVHS Athlete,
I was kidding. I was annoyed people kept talking about what happened in that game. Off to play PS3 college football now like the cool kids do. I’m using Oregon Ducks. HUGE.
When is camas’ game this week?
