Camas Uses Team Effort In 41-14 Win Over Hudson’s Bay

Written by Bryan Levesque on October 2, 2009

Camas returned to Kiggins Bowl where just 6 days ago the Papermakers were 2 points short in a loss to Skyview. Friday night the Papermakers all came together and made sure they did not loose for a 2nd week in a row at Kiggins. 6 different Camas players scored TD’s in their 41-14 win over Hudson’s Bay. The Papermakes jumped to an early 7-0 lead when Addison Owen scored on a 85 yard interception return. TD’s by RB Tyler Fisher and Austin Benson followed in the 2nd and Camas led 21-0 at the half. DL Odin Coe recovered a fumble in the end zone in the 3rd to push the lead to 27-0. QB Logan Grindy found WR Miguel Salamanca from 20 yards out late in the 3rd and Camas was up 34-0. Hudson’s Bay QB Travis Roberts got the Eagles on the board late in the 3rd but by then it was to late. Camas WR Jeremy Faulkner ran in a last Papermakers TD from 22 yards out late in the 4th to cap off the scoring.

With the win, Camas improves to 1-0 in league and 4-1 overall. Camas will host Columbia River (1-3) on Friday at Doc Harris Stadium.

Hudson’s Bay drops to 0-1 in league and 1-4 overall with the loss. The Eagles will travel to District Stadium Friday to play Prairie (1-3).
