Columbia River Wins 41-38 Over Camas in Double OT Thriller
Written by Bryan Levesque on October 10, 2008
The Columbia River Chieftains took a 28-10 third quarter lead before Camas stormed back to take a 31-28 lead late in the game. The Chieftains moved down field to tie the game at 31-31. Both teams scored TD in the first OT prior to Columbia River’s field goal to start the second OT. River picked off a pass in the end zone to end the classic game.
With the win, Columbia River improves to 3-3 and importantly 1-1 in league play. The win gives River the inside track for second in the GSHL 3A. The Chieftains travel to Kiggins Bowl Friday to play Fort Vancouver (2-4 1-1). The Papermakers fall to 4-2 and 1-1. Camas will host Prairie (2-4 1-1) Friday at Doc Harris Stadium.
