Eastern Washington’s Sanctions Effect 6 GSHL Players
February 16, 2009

Former Evergreen Plainsmen Lonnie Hosley (#1) will be a Senior in 2009 for the Eagles.
Eastern Washington University’s football program has been put on 3 years probation due NCAA violations committed by former head coach Paul Wulff. Wulff, now the head coach at Washington State University, reportedly had too many coaches on staff and allowed en-eligible players to practice with the Eagles.
Eastern will not be eligible for post season play in 2009 as part of 2 years probation. Eastern will loose 2 scholarships over the next 2 academic years leaving the Eagles with 61 and not 63 players on scholarship. They will also have to have 10 and not 11 coaches on staff for that time.
Former Evergreen Plainsmen Lonnie Hosley (#1) will be a Senior in 2009 for the Eagles and will not be able to make a second trip to the post season.
In 2007 Hosley and fellow Plainsmen Greg Peach led Eastern into the 1-AA playoffs and a first-round win over #2 McNeese State before loosing in the next round to the eventual National Champs Appalachian Stat.
Former Columbia River lineman Nick Stewart (#52) will be a Sophomore next season for the Eagles.
Earlier this month Eastern signed 4 GSHL players on letter of intent day.
Evergreen’s RB/DB James Monk and DL Ashton Miller as well as Heritage’s WR Ashton Clark and OL Steven Forgette will all be headed to Cheney after graduation in June.
