Evergreen Snags First Victory Of The Season 38-14 Over Visiting Battle Ground

Evergreen led Battle Ground 17-14 in the 4th quarter before a wild ending that went all the Plainsmen way as they won 38-14 to get their first win of the 2010 season.
Evergreen led 14-0 at the half following a pair of rushing touchdowns in the first quarter. Kicker Timur Zhividze’s 36 yard FG in the third made the score 17-0 and it looked like Evergreen was about to pull away from the visiting Tigers. But Battle Ground fought back and after a pair of rushing touchdowns from Kokou Akengue the Tigers had pulled within 3 early in the 4th quarter.
Richie Townsend scored on a 10 yard run later in the 4th giving Evergreen a 24-14 lead. Then on the ensuing kickoff, as the kick seemed to be headed out of bounds, a Battle Ground player jumped up and batted it back into the field of play, right into the hands of Evergreens Artem Konkin at the 12. Konkin ran it into the end zone, however it was ruled a muff and you are not allowed to advance a muff. Townsend punched in a 2 yard run a few plays later and Evergreen led 31-14 all but ending it for the Tigers. Evergreen had 349 yards rushing in the win.
With the win Evergreen improves to 1-4 on the season and 1-0 in league play. The Plainsmen will host Kelso (4-1 3-0) in a non=league game Friday at McKenzie Stadium 5:00 p.m. Battle Ground falls to 1-4 on the season with the loss and 0-1 in league play. The Tigers will host Skyview (3-2 1-0) on Thursday at District Stadium 7:00 p.m.

yeah artem. his is #28. i was on kick off in the celebraten in the endzone when they over turned it.
To pass a comment on the poll question, it was actually the triple header at McKenzie !! Union and MV a good defensive game and then the Evergreen first half of play and then Battle Ground second half play.
In HS rules, if the ball crossed the neutral zone after it was kicked, but was muffed and returned behind the neutral zone, the kicking team can recover and advance the ball.
Te’kwon didn’t even suit up for the game.

Hey ultimatecamasfan – I watched a lot of HS football and athletics. I even coached a little. And a win is a win. Why are you cutting down BG? Their kids played hard, they are out numbered in every game with about 34 JV/Varsity players in all. I talked to a guy in the stands who told me that they have 2200 students there (4A size) but, about a little over half cannot play athletics because of religious reasons. This leaves them about 1000 students (2A school?). He also said BG cut Middle School athletics about 10 years ago. I don’t feel sorry for them, they are who they are. They do the best they can and work hard. Don’t berate a kid or team who shows up on Friday Night and wants to compete. They play hard and they don’t give up.

I was not aware of Battle Ground’s student situation. What religious group out there accounts for so many students no participating in sports?
anyways ultimatecamasfan the hardest opponent you guys play this year is skyview and maybe mtn view. That is like a fraction of the teams played be evergreen Richland #6,Eisenhower on the bubble before the game, and lakes which is a top 5 team (with being #1 on some peoples rankings), and mtn view too. The hardest team you guys play this year is skyiew so you shouldn’t be bashing evergreen
Evergreen looks good if they can just stop the run. It looks like the tough non conference schedule is panning out.
Someone, thats because of the 3A schedule. 3A has 6 league games instead of 4. Both Skyview and Timberline were supposed to be very good this year, and both didnt live up to their expectations (so far). The one weak out of league schedule game would be Heritage, but even they are very good for a one win team.
Evergreen will lose the rest of their games this year. Their schedule difficulty doesnt mean anything when they lose every game except to BG…

Evergreen is going to beat Union (or Skyview)? I was there early last Friday and they weren’t playing anyone competitive that’s for sure. can’t see it happening.

Evergreen is back and will role Union Skyview and Heritage. You heard it here first. Oh wait. No really, Evergreen can get 3rd place and make playoffs realistically. Just beat Heritage. OH wait.
Union Skyview and Heritage will paste Evergreen by a lump sum of 136-17, mark my words. Unions D wont give up a score and will power over the Plainsman. Skyview will stay balanced and tear Evergreen apart, maybe giving up a lte score. Heritage will Air it out and the game will be over before the second half.

alls good people but when e beats two outa three of these teams you will all come up with your silly reasons why , but hey thats ok its not like any of your schools have a state title. mean machine sorry for thinking you graduated should have known being camas and all probably bought that diploma , and the reason your mascot is a creature is because who wants to see a pad of paper running around the stands is that on youur lettermans jackets . simple fact is we will be second at worst in league and for sure CAMAS will never be state champs booster money and recruiting will only get you so far ……. oh yeah we sould do this for wrestling season too bryan that would be awesome … great job with site
by the way creature have your school play three top 10 teams in the state the first three weeks of the season and then talk about your record .. at least union played ranked teams and there d would eat you up .

NEWOFFENSEEGREEN, change it to 360pi instead of the 720 it is set at. Mine does the same thing if I try and watch it at the better resolution.
