Experienced Titans Too Much For Young Plainsmen
Written by Bryan Levesque on September 12, 2009
The Union Titans struggled to score last week versus Skyview. This week the defending 3A GSHL Champions had little trouple scoring as they took advantage of a young Evergreen squad in a 45-23 win at McKenzie Stadium.
Union RB Nathan Penaranda led the way with 4 TD’s, and QB Brandon Weller added 150 passing yards for Union. Evergreen RB Chase Lawerance was the bright spot for Evergreen, rushing for 210 yards and 2 TD.
Evergreen will play at Camas on Friday while Union will play Foothill of California next Saturday up in Seattle

Got something to say?

Great job up front Titans. This was a good momentum building game. Union needs to show a little more discipline and get rid of the penalties before league play starts.
Great performance by the Union Titans! We’re looking forward to next weeks game in Seattle!!
I agree, but something needs to be done about the bogus calls. How can the be called for offsides even before the game starts? The lineman were lining up and looking to the officials several times during the game to ensure that they were not offsides and the official would not acknowledge them, but then they were flagged for being offsides? Does anyone officiate the officials?
I was not at the game, but am just curious, how many late hits by Union?
The ultimate late hitter graduated. I’m sure someone new will step up.
OJ, there were no late hits that I saw, only Taylor Nelson and company pounding the crud out of everyone. Watch out Camas.
Camas Fan, get over yourself, Ryan Maddox didn’t stomp Grindy after the sack, and once again, and I cannot stress this enough, get over yourself.
I wasn’t talking about Maddox
Well now you have sparked my intrest Camas Fan, all I remember from last year was the flurry of angry comments about last year.
you were talking about maddox.. wrongfully, but still thats who you were talking about. he was reffered to as the ultmimate late hitter.. so learn who you talk about before you actually talk about them.
I couldn’t possibly think of anyone besides Maddox as the person he could be talking about. That’s why I am curious as to who he was refering.
cant wait to see if union and camas go undefeated and play each other for the league title what an awesome game
the only team i can see possibly beating camas in the rest of thier schedule is skyview and its non league so i expect a camas vs union for the title
I really never had a problem with the Maddox incident, I was referring to the corner, but I’m not going to call him out by name.
Camas fan you called out the man who supposedly stepped on longan grindy.. that is ryan maddox, how can you not be referring to him? Also non of the Union corners have done anything far fetch in a game your argument has no basis. You only come on here to start drama, this was an evergreen union game what are you even doing here. You honestly need to leave GSHL comments alone you are rediculous, no one likes you.
Camas fan – you post some really stupid things on here. You seem to be the guy that likes to make empty accusations that aren’t supported by facts behind the anonymity of your keyboard.
And I hope you haven’t graduated yet because your grammar and spelling are pretty poor. But hey – 3 cheers for the Camas School District!!!!!!!!
One of Unions DB’s(won’t say his name) got a talkin to by a ref last year during the game for hitting after the whistle, hitting guys late out of bounds, etc… It happend, I saw it. I don’t know if this type of play was usual for the DB or if this was a 1 game incident.
This is all funny everyone her are parents who want to live through there kids and if your not im sorry but just let the kids play! Let the teams do the talking i know Evergreen got the crap beat out of them and regardless of the penalties Union still killed. Yeah Union has a lot of work for penalties but i assure you Piland will make sure they wont do it again. And weather Maddox did it or not that was last year this is a new year. And well for Evergreen they got some work to do. Sorry if i hurt someones feelings but dont get hurt about it and let the Kids playing do the talking not their parents.
For those who dont know. The sport we are all tatking about is FOOTBALL. You must be tough to play the game. So if you guys are really going to complain about questionably late hits and “close calls” then your probably playing and/or watching the wrong game. And i guarantee you that there is just as much going on from the opposing teams side as there is on unions side. Just because you dont get flagged for things doesnt place a halo over your head. Grow up.
EHS fan, maybe you need to take your own advice.
Fan of u…. i just thought you should know that camas is the number 1 academic school in the state of WA now WA is the 2nd lowest in the US but still on here id imagine “Camas Fan” was typing so fast he made errors here and there just like everyone else does…… and if you do have this problem i suggest downloading Firefox because it will tell you when you misspell things just like Word does
