Game Recap – Battle Ground 21 Hudson’s Bay 15
Written by Bryan Levesque on September 24, 2011
After falling behind 15-8 on the road at Hudson’s Bay, the Battle Ground Tigers scored two forth quarter touchdowns to pull out the 21-15 win. Tigers WR Tyler Bergeron got Battle Ground on the board first when he caught a 40 yard touchdown pass from Ian Humphrey in the first quarter. The rest of the half was almost all Eagles as Jahmile Sipaia pounded in a one yard touchdown run, and then like Bergeron did earlier, also scored the 2 point conversion. Sipaia then picked off Humphrey and ran it back 36 yards for another Eagles touchdown and the 15-8 lead. It was not until late in the forth quarter that Battle Ground finally answered, when it was once again Tyler Bergeron, who this time ran in from 76 yards out, as he made a few cuts with the referee between him and the safety which caused the safety to get turned around, allowing Bergeron to get an angle and find the end zone. After an onside kick recoverd by Battle Ground, the Tigers went down and Humphrey hit Trevor Ingram for the game winning 21 yard touchdown strike.
Battle Ground improves their record to 3-1 on the season with the win. The Tigers will host Evergreen (0-4) Friday at District Stadium, 7:00 p.m. Hudson’s Bay falls to 0-4 on the season with the loss. The Eagles will travel to Columbia River (3-1) Friday at Chieftain Stadium, 7:00 p.m.

Got something to say?

I went to see the Skyview and Camas game but, got there early to watch Battle Ground and Bay. To my surprise that Tiger team sure did not look like the team that played Woodland the week before. Their offense was off-beat and out of rhythm. Their QB threw 3 interceptions and one for a TD. Just not executing. The defense was OK, hard to stop a big fullback like Bay’s.
They need to play alot better if they want to continue on their streak. Great Luck Tigers!
