Game Recap – Battle Ground 54 Fort Vancouver 13

Written by Bryan Levesque on September 10, 2011

The Battle Ground Tigers put together a complete, steady effort Friday night, scoring a pair of touchdowns in all 3 quarters as they defeated the visiting Fort Vancouver Trappers 54-13. Tigers running back Trevor Ingram scored three touchdowns, twice rushing and one 69 yard reception form quarterback Ian Humphrey. Humphrey only completed the one pass on five attempts, but thanks to 119 rushing yards from Ingram, and 106 from Kevin Haynes the Tigers did not need the passing game. Fort Vancouver was led by Jordan Vela Vela’s 92 rushing yards and quarterback Jacob Austin’s 96 passing yards and one touchdown.

Battle Ground improves their record to 1-1 on the season with the win. The Tigers will travel to Woodland (1-1) Friday at Woodland Stadium, 7:00 p.m. Fort Vancouver falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss. The Trappers will host Washougal (2-0) Friday at Kiggins Bowl, 5:00 p.m.
