Game Recap – Camas 48 Kennedy Catholic 14

Camas jumped all over the visiting Kennedy Lancers Friday night at Doc Harris Stadium. Papermakers RB Zack Marshall scored a pair of first quarter touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving and QB Tonny Gennaro threw two of his five touchdowns in the first quarter, one 22 yards to Marshall, then one 23 yards to Jonathan Warner, as Camas led 21-0 after one. Marshall’s third touchdown of the game and Gennaro’s third passing touchdown, a 5 yard pass to Zach Eagle put Camas up 28-0 in the second. At that point the Lancers only had one first down in the game. Camas scored two two more touchdowns in the third quarter, Marshall’s forth touchdown of the game, a 43 yard pass from Gennaro, and Gennaro’s fifth touchdown pass, a 23 yard pass to John Payne. With the Papermakes up 48-7 the game wen to the running clock with over 6 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. Gennaro passed for 301 yards and 5 touchdowns while Marshall had 218 total yards and 4 touchdowns. Kennedy RB Ian Nobmann ran for 116 yards on 20 carries, most of the yards came after Camas was up 28 points.
Camas improves their record to 10-1 on the season with the win. The Papermakers will host the winner of Saturdays game between Mercer Island (8-2) and #6 Meadowdale (10-0) at Doc Harris Stadium Friday or Saturday, time TBD in the Quarterfinals of the WIAA State Playoffs.
