Game Recap – Columbia River 36 Hockinson 22

Hockinson put up quite the fight at Nautilus Field Friday night against the visiting Chieftains. Up 3-0 in the second quarter before Columbia River QB Clayton Frank threw a 90 yard touchdown pass to Eli Evenson to give the Chieftains a 7-3 lead at the break. Hockinson’s Nick Guinett ran back the second half kick off 95 yards for the score to put the Hawks back ahead. River Rb Remick Kawawaki scored on runs of 51 and 26 yards and Hockinson QB Doug MacDonald threw touchdown passes of 18 and 39 yards to Guinett later in the half and Frank threw two more touchdown passes including one for 84 yards to Dennis Henderson. Kawawaki finished the night with 125 yards rushing on 9 carries and Clayton Frank threw for 237 yards on the three touchdowns. Hockinson RB Torey Dunn was the leading Hockinson rusher as he ran for 96 yards on 25 carries.
Columbia River improves their record to 3-1 on the season with the win. The Chieftains will host Hudson’s Bay (0-4) Friday at Chieftain Stadium, 7:00 p.m. Hockinson falls to 2-2 on the season with the loss. The Hawks will host Lakeside (1-2) Friday at nautilus Field, 7:00 p.m.
