Columbia River ran for five touchdowns and also ran back two more on defense in their 46-0 road win over Fort Vancovuer. Chieftain RB Remick Kawawki only had 89 rushing yards on the night, but the 3A GSHL’s leading rusher did score twice on his 7 carries. Fellow RB Darius Raiford also ran for a pair of touchdowns while just rushing for 22 yards on 6 carries. Micah Figueroa and Kevin Sandison each returned interceptions for touchdowns for Columbia River. Fort Vancouver QB Jacob Austin was 5 of 19 for 25 yards and threw the 2 picks. Austin has thrown 17 interceptions on the season to just one touchdown for the winless Trappers.
Columbia River improves their record to 5-2 on the season and 3-2 in league play with the win. The Chieftains will host Skyview (5-2) Friday at Chieftain Stadium, 7:00 p.m. Fort Vancouver falls to 0-7 on the season and 0-4 in league play with the loss. The Trappers will travel to Camas (6-1 5-0) Friday at Doc Harris Stadium, 7:00 p.m.
