Mountain View struggled at Hudson’s Bay Friday and were held without a rushing touchdown in the first half as the Thunder took only a 14-0 lead into the break. Mountain View got their first rushing touchdown of the game in the third quarter when RB Michael Rivers ran in from 52 yards out. Rivers added 2 more in the 4th quarter as Mountain View finally pulled away for the 42-0 road win over the winless Eagles. Rivers finished the night with 142 rushing yards on 13 carries. Thunder QB Riley O’Dell threw for 147 yards and 1 touchdown in the win. Hudson’s Bay RB Jahmile Sipaia led the Eagles with 69 yards rushing on 11 carries.
Mountain View improves their record to 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in league play with the win. The Thunder will host Columbia River (5-3 3-2) Friday at McKenzie Stadium, 8:00 p.m. Hudson’s Bay falls to 0-8 on the season and 0-5 in league play with the loss. The Eagles will play Fort Vancouver (0-8 0-5) Friday at Kiggins Bowl, 5:00 p.m as the road team.
