Game Recap – Prairie 39 Battle Ground 28
Written by Bryan Levesque on October 29, 2011
Prairie never trailed Battle Ground on their way to a 39-28 non-league victory over rival Battle Ground. The Falcons broke open a 7-7 tie by scoring three second quarter touchdowns, two of which were touchdown passes from QB Colin Seitz. However Battle Ground, down 27-7, did not give up and scored a pair of their own rushing touchdowns to cut the lead to 27-21. Prairie then scored the next two scores on a Tyler Duncan 9 yard run and an Ansel Cevil 27 yard interception return. Battle Ground did run back the ensuing kickoff 91 yards for a score, but was too little, too late. Seitz finished the game with 275 yards passing and 3 passing touchdowns. Tigers RB Trevor Ingram ran for 201 yards on 18 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns in the loss.
Prairie improves their record to 6-3 on the season with the win. The Falcons will travel to Meadowdale (9-0) Saturday, time TBD in the preliminary round of the WIAA State Playoffs. Battle Ground falls to 4-5 on the season with the loss. The Tigers season is over.
