Written by Bryan Levesque on September 24, 2011
The Woodland Beavers led this game at two separate times. The visiting Beavers struck first when RB Cy Whitmire scored on a 4 yard run. Later in the second quarter, QB Adam Shoup hit WR Logan Piper on a 6 yard scoring pass to go up 14-8 on the host Loggers. Tied at 14 at the half, the second half belonged to Scio. Three touchdowns by the home team later, and Scio sent the Beavers home with a 32-14 loss. That’s a lot better than last year when Scio beat Woodland 54-13. Cy Whitmire ran 11 times for 99 yards and the one touchdown. Scio ran for 469 yards as a team and was 0-3 passing the football.
Woodland falls to 1-3 on the season with the loss. The Beavers will travel to Mark Morris (2-2) Friday at Longview Memorial Stadium, 7:00 p.m.
