Game Recap – Skyview 42 Bellarmine Prep 17
Written by Bryan Levesque on November 20, 2011
Skyview RB Parker Henry ran for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns on 33 carris leading the Storm to a 42-17 victory over #1 Bellarmine Prep to advance to the 4A Semifinals.
Trailing #1 Bellarmine Prep 17-14 midway through the 3rd quarter with their spread offense sputtering, Skyview turned to RB Parker Henry and the run game which produced 4 second half rushing touchdowns in a 42-17 home win over Bellarmine Prep Saturday Night at Boggs Field. The #9 ranked Storm played to a scoreless tie in the first quarter with the visiting Lions. Early in the second quarter the states top ranked 4A school struck first when QB Sefo Liufau scrambled around and found University of Washington bound WR Michael Rector in the corner of the end zone for an early 7-0 lead. Late in the quarter now down 10-0, Skyview got on the board when QB Kieran McDonagh hit WR David Garlington down the sidelines for 62 yard touchdown pass, McDonagh’s first of two passing touchdowns on the night. Skyview almost went into the break with the lead when McDonagh hooked up with WR Reiley Henderson on a 52 yard pass down to the Lions 2, however the clock expired before Henderson could get out of bonds. In the third quarter Skyview took the lead on their opening drive when McDonagh hit Mo Morrison from 22 yards out to go up 14-10, however Bellarmine Prep retook the lead on their next possession when Liufau ran in from 4 yards out. McDonagh threw an interception on the Storm’s next possession but the defense held on a 4th down attempt, keeping the score at 17-14 Prep. Skyview then changed up their game plan and went to their jumbo goal line set and dared the Lions to stop Parker Henry. They couldn’t. The Strom ran plays with the same tempo as normal, or maybe even faster, but just keep running power with Henry, the state’s leading 4A rusher. The new look completely changed the game and Skyview simply physically dominated the rest of the game. Henry ran 184 of his 235 yards in the second half and scored all 4 of his touchdowns as Skyview turned a close game into a blowout 42-17 Skyview victory. Henry finished the game with 235 rushing yards on 33 carries and the 4 scores while QB Kieran McDonagh passed for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR David Garlington caught 3 passes for 84 yards and the one touchdown while Reiley Henderson added 4 for 82 yards just missing the second quarter score. Prep RB Isaiah Flynn had an excellent first half and finished the game with 167 rushing yards on 32 carries. Liufau was held to 10 of 28 passing for 124 yards with the touchdown and 2 interceptions, by Henderson and Morrison.
Skyview improves their record to 10-2 on the season with the win. The Storm will play Lake Stevens (12-0) at The Tacoma Dome Saturday, time TBD in the Semifinals of the WIAA State Playoffs.
Well coached, well disciplined, well prepared physically & mentally. QBs (Good); LBs (Solid); WRs & DBs (Very Good); OL/DL (stupid good); RB (ridiculous!!!)…enjoy the success of 129 from last night, today!
Tomorrow get back on your grind, change nothing, work this week to perfect your craft…C U in T’town!

Having played both Skyview and Lake Stevens, this Semi-Final won’t be close!! This may be their biggest blowout of the Playoffs!
Skyview will play for thier first State Championship and hopefully put SW WA and the GSHL on the map for good as the best area for Football in the State.
Good luck Storm, hope to spend the first weekend in Dec. watching both you and Camas winning it all!

If you want to know what BEAST MODE is all about, for those of you that haven’t watched yet, or need to watch again, go to the 19-second mark of this video. Crazy.

What I think is almost as impressive is at the 9:37 mark.

I agree with Xpert Mike…the first run on the video is ridiculous…display great lateral quickness…great explosion & strength…he finishes every run! You dont see guys play w this kind of heart anymore…throwback kid from a great family. Tireless worker but then again nearly every kid in this programs is…Keep doin’ you!
The season is much too far way, I just can't stand the wait. With college finished I might actually get to see more games this season. I got to watch the Storm play a number of weeks but I didnt get to see many of the the other games and I look forward to seeing...
In the 2A it should be a mix between RAL, Hockinson, or Washougal. I see Mark Morris a year away but I could be wrong. RAL returns Ryan Peerboom, Eric Roselini, and most dynamic player in the league in Jacob Yordy, all with a year of experience under there belt. Hockinson returns the Leagues best...
4A - Sky, Camas, the U
3A - CR, MV, Prairie
2A- Hockinson, MM
As far as QBs, JB and Hennesey. They will both do fine.
Berni has a ton of returning talent surrounding him. He has played with Forrest Russell for quite a few years (before they jumped the Heritage ship and landly safely and softly at...
NOTE: There has been a slight schedule change in week 3 Sept 14. The Hudson's Bay at Hockinson game as been moved to Kiggins Bowl, and will be played at 8pm, while the Lakes at Skyview game has been moved up to 5pm....
Not sure why folks are picking Aberdeen in the top 3 of 2A. They moved from the 2A Evergreen Conference because they couldn't compete in that league. I don't think they'll be horrible, but I don't see them as a top 3 team.
4A: Skyview, Union, Camas
3A: CR, MV, Prairie
2A: Hockinson, RAL, MM
RAL will...
JB also played more than half the game at Couerd'Alene. Yes they got beat bad but he did lead them on their only 2 scoring drives. He did play a lot of garbage minutes but he also had a few series when the starter needed to come out for a play or 2. just sayin......
NEWS ALERT: Skyview is good (very)!
