Heritage Big Over River In 27-7 Win

Written by Bryan Levesque on September 19, 2009

Heritage and Columbia River were both 0-2 heading into Friday nights game. Both teams were playoff teams last season and had not expected to be winless as week 3 arrived.

The Timberwolves were not going to fall to 0-3 as they jumped all over River in their 27-7 win. Heritage led 27-0 at the half and did not allow a score until late in the 4th.

With the win, Heritage improves to 1-2 and will play Union Friday night in their final non-league game. Columbia River drops to 0-3 with the loss and will host Kelso Friday for their final non-league game.

I attended this game and let me make this clear. Heritage’s defense is not the biggest nor the fastest but they hit hard and make play’s when their offense is struggling. If I’m not mistaken, I think their linebackers won that game without a doubt. Good pressure up front fron those big d-line. Grayson and the offense didn’t have a spectacular game but at least they were able to move the ball at will. I know everyone around the league is focusing on Skyview, Camas, Union, and even Battle Ground more now since this young Heritage team lost two games in a row but I think you shouldn’t count this team out for a GSHL League title.

  2. CR Fan on September 19th, 2009 6:03 pm

I also attended this game. Heritage definitly deserved the win. But Columbia River did nothing to help themselfs. Those two questionable fumbles were not caused by big hits by any means. So GSHL Fan, Heritage has a ways to go before you can start comparing them to Camas , Union or even Skyview.

  3. GAMER on September 19th, 2009 6:55 pm

Mid level California will always be better than “top-rate washington” Over rated Skyline couldnt compete with Oaks Christian and poor Union is taking a whooping here in Seattle.
Half stats: Foothill 235 yards on 31 plays, 10 1st downs. Union 139 yards on 23 plays, 5 1st downs. Foothill up 180-11 in rushing yards.

  4. Knute on September 19th, 2009 9:06 pm

Okay, crystal clear the T-wolves are a force to be reckoned with. The rest of the 4A are offically on notice…Heritage isn’t big and they’re not fast…everybody got that?

  5. BigPapa on September 19th, 2009 11:42 pm

Didn’t see the game but this weekend proves, there isn’t a dominant team in 3A or 4A. Camas is a closer than anyone. Union losing to a subpar California team and Skyview getting rolled despite a late come back doesn’t help our (SW WA)reputation with the rest of the state either!! That is the true measuring stick.

  6. camas Alumni on September 19th, 2009 11:47 pm

i gotta agree with bigpapa Gshl does not have a good rep and teams need to start winning there preseason games against school from other states and cities that we wouldnt normally face to get that rep its been this way for a while something needs to happen!!!!!! GO Camas

  7. Joey Brown on September 19th, 2009 11:49 pm

Gamer, do you have the entire game stats for both Union and Foothill? If you do, could you email me at jbrown@suhsd.net with them. I would really appreciate it.

  8. twolffan on September 20th, 2009 12:06 am

Knute…so I take it you don’t like Heritage? Not big or fast? Don’t know much about them do you? Who exactly do you believe in because all you do is bash everyone on here? Put your team out there. Who are you saying will win their respective league championships? We’ll come back at the end of the season and see if you’re right. Put your “knowledge” on the line.

  9. Painter3 on September 20th, 2009 12:48 am

I really hope everyone keeps counting us (Heritage) out, that’s going to make our life so much easier, Honestly all the pressure of being ranked and having such high expectations has just got to our heads. We’re getting ready for when it counts, the first half of the River game just shows how far we’ve come since Camas, myself included.

  10. GSHL Fan on September 20th, 2009 2:14 am

Well said Painter3, just let the boys play and do the talking. Oh and by the way, Union lost to foothill, and with Heritage’s win, this could be a huge momentum gain for the t-wolves and a possible upset. Hope to see you all there this friday at 8:00 for Heritage vs. Union.

  11. GSHL Fan on September 20th, 2009 6:49 am

I’ve always seen Heritage play with heart. It’s just lame that you’ve had so many injuries too.

  12. Alex Smith RT 75 on September 20th, 2009 8:27 am

I think we(Heritage) deserved the win. We have worked hard all year and its good to have a W. I think we are starting to realize how to win and i have confidence we will do good this friday against Union. Go Twolves. 75

  13. SuperJante5 on September 20th, 2009 8:44 am

Heritage defense is on a roll. Union will be lucky to score. We are the Darkside for sure.

  14. Knute on September 20th, 2009 10:00 am

I certainly don’t ‘bash everyone’ on here, I am compelled to speak up when I see a comment that I disagree with on here, and I see lots. I don’t dislike Heritage, I wish them the best but just don’t think that they have proven anything to anyone. I have watched both teams play in person & I just don’t see them staying with Skyview. As for who my team is; it’s no secret I’ve got a couple kids going to Union & I watched these Seniors get pushed around as Sophomores, prove themselves as Juniors & now it is their time to really achieve something.

    Big Papa: Camas 29 Evergreen 0 F
Union 31 Evergreen O HALFTIME SCORE

  15. Rockne on September 20th, 2009 10:06 am

The team being the most overlooked is Camas. They are the best in 3a at this moment for sure. Union will need to play 4 full quarters to have a shot. 4a is up in the air. Evergreen still has growing pains, Mt. View has played a bunch of paper tigers, and Kelso has done the same. Battle Ground wil not snaek up on anyone but could battle for second place. Skyview looks solid right now but still working to get better. Heritage needs to actually play all four quarters as well and get healthy to win the 4a.

  16. GSHL Fan on September 20th, 2009 10:29 am

Your right your obliged to have your opinion. But let me ask you something, what if Heritage beats Union this Friday, are you still going to be talking bad about Heritage?

  17. Knute on September 20th, 2009 11:36 am

This is why this is fun, everyone has opinions & everyone thinks their team is the best. Some people just completely overlook all of the facts & then say something silly… but, I guess that’s how it goes, watcha gonna do? If Heritage somehow manages to beat Union this friday, then yes I will heap a ton of praise on them. That being said, I really, really, really like my chances.

  18. camas alumni on September 20th, 2009 1:41 pm

heritage has to actually beat union though winning by a field goal in my opinion does not make you a better team i hate watching games that end with a field goal for the Win yes it gets the W but it doesn’t really prove you were the better team so i hope the winner of Union vs heritage is truly better then the other team but my bet is on union if they lose hat gives camas an edge when they play each other and union cant afford to give an edge

  19. PaperMaker4LIFE on September 20th, 2009 2:15 pm

I have seen Heritage, BattleGround, Evergreen, Union, Skyview, Onion and Camas play. Evergreen has no chance this season, Battleground is a pretender for sure. Onion has more glaring weaknesses this year and could of been beaten by Skyview but the ball bounced their way at the end. Skyview has the talent but who knows what team will show up week to week. Heritage is an anomoly. Talented but clueless. That leaves my Papermakers who have proven in 3 games that they are solid on both sides of the ball.
    Camas 34 Onion 21
    Camas 28 Skyview 17

  20. HSFB on September 20th, 2009 2:27 pm

I play for BG and we scrimmaged union all summer, and as you all should know we just recently lost the game to camas in overtime. I have a ton of respect for both teams but coming from a player that has played them both, there is no doubt in my mind that Union is the better team. Union is still getting warmed up, but once they are going full speed which they will be against Camas they are a dangerous team.
Look out for BG to take 4a title : )

  21. Football Dad on September 20th, 2009 4:35 pm

If coach Becksted does not move his seniors into the secondary positions on defense, Heritage will not have a chance against Union. This plan of using his players one way needs to stop. Heritage is getting beat bad on pass plays.

  22. twolffan on September 20th, 2009 10:45 pm

You don’t watch much football do you, football dad? The offense has been struggling so far this season. It was knotted up 21-21 vs Camas at half before Grayson threw that INT for a TD. It was 14-6 in the WF West game until the defense scored a TD before half. In that game, the offense turned the ball over 5-6 times. Against River, the defense forced 5 TOs and scored a TD. The score should have been 40-0 at half, but the offense never scored again after half. Pay the 5 bucks to get into the games instead of just reading the papers and basing your opinion off reports that are called in. I think the $5 you pay at the gate comes with a clue.

  23. GSHL Dad on September 20th, 2009 11:09 pm

I think 2 platoon football is fine in college and pro football, but in high school there isn’t the depth of talent, and when the game is on the line, the athletes have to be on the field. There are some high school coaches that either don’t believe it, or don’t care.

  24. twolffan on September 20th, 2009 11:15 pm

But there are also some coaches that believe in putting as many kids on the field as possible. If you’re 15-18 years old, why would you put in months of work to just be a part of the team. Wouldn’t you want to play? I think in certain situations against Union, Heritage will put other guys in especially against Sailor.

  25. Knute on September 20th, 2009 11:31 pm

    that oughta do it

  26. Mr.Football on September 21st, 2009 10:21 am

Wow….so many opinions out here…Well these Camas fans out here saying their gonna beat everybody including Union makes me laugh! Camas was extremely lucky to beat Battle Ground and even Eagle was quoted as saying that….come down to earth people…the 3A GSHL is so weak this year aside from Union and Camas it’s embarrassing. I was up in Seattle for the Union vs Foothills game and I can say this…Union is a much better football team than Camas or anyone else in SW Washington aside from Skyview. The three top teams in the area go as follows:

    1. Union
    2. Skyview
    3. Camas & Battleground

Heritage will lose there next two games to Union and Battleground. Count on it! Skyview will beat Camas by 14 points minimum.

  27. camas alumni on September 21st, 2009 11:09 am

i predict that for the next couple years when camas and union play each other the winner will be the home team camas won at home two years ago and union won last years at home this year camas will beat union and Mr football only time will tell and i know how camas plays and camas will be behind at half to skyview but come back and win with authority!!!

  28. Heritage fan for life on September 21st, 2009 11:28 am

The t wolfs are a good team that was over looked coming into this season but now a win the books the t wolfs are going to roll IF THE OFFENSE NEEDS TO PLAY THERE GAME! the D my be the best it has been and may be the best in gshl this year when on there game the Darkside this back and ready to go I LOVE MY WOLFS. This week we are back and that bad news for Union

  29. franklyspeaking on September 21st, 2009 11:46 am

I enjoy reading the comments you all make about this team and that team.
I am a retired and I love high school football and living here now in the NW is great I use to live in Southern California and only could watch one or two games a week because of the distances.
Living in Camas I can watch four games a week Maybe more that’s great!!
Sorry back to football, have you noticed that Union does not have one person in the top ten in any statistical category! People wake up that’s called balance who are you going to defend
Saylor he has done little this year what about Penaranda, Taylor, Russell, Browning, Merlino,
Just to name a few. Balance on offense.
On defense they bend but don’t brake.
I like Grayson but he has few or no weapons; I hope it will be a competitive game

  30. franklyspeaking on September 21st, 2009 1:33 pm

BigPapa foothill was better than you think
Their running back is one of the top sprinters in the country their quarter back is being look at by Cal and Oregon two of their linemen have already committed to Arizona and Cal and please do not bring up scott.com or rivals.com they are for ignorant people to have something to do.
Foothill was beat by Novato one of the top teams in Northern California
Grant that beat Bellevue is about the same as foothill, and Oaks Christian in Southern California is a joke
They play in a league that Washougal could compete that’s how bad that conference is.
I was very disappointed in Skyline they should have done better

  31. Fan of the U on September 21st, 2009 4:07 pm

Frankly speaking – I agree. I was in Seattle Saturday and I was surprised by Foothill. They would be a 3A semi-final team in Washington. Their slot back/ kick returner was faster than any GSHL player on any team. Their QB was tall, poised, and tough. I only saw him make 2 bad decisions all night. They hit hard and played very well. Union got a really slow start and Foothill could have put them away in the first half it not for a couple big defensive plays near the goal line.
Union is very good, but they haven’t yet put 4 good quarters together this year. The Foothill game showed them what happens when you don’t get the bounces against another good team. The Seniors need to step up and I think they will be just fine.

  32. camas alumni on September 21st, 2009 5:12 pm

i know one main thing with our senior class on the football team we had heart the whole year our goal was to win the league title for the 3rd year in a row and make it out of the first round of the play offs something camas has never done…. we ended up sharing the title with river and lost to kenniwick in the first round but we tryed our best that game and with the refs on thier side and that wide receiver they had was really fast he scored all their touchdowns we didnt have much of a chance… they scouted us perfect and stopped us from running the ball…. but now camas can throw the ball so i think they will be better then our team we had

  33. GSHL Observer on September 21st, 2009 8:45 pm

Fan of the “U” and Frankly Speaking, I am not in total agreement with you both but I do agree with many of your observations from the game site on Saturday. Foothill is an extremely good team. Strength, speed and intensity are the words that come to mind when I reflect on the game. I have never seen two safeties and linebackers in high school football anywhere, especially locally, pound hit after hit for an entire game the way the Foothill players did. Union held up and wore them down. There are not teams like Foothill in the GSHL except Union. I say that because Union may have not matched their intensity in the first half but most certainly did in the second half and, in fact, had the ball late in the fourth quarter with a chance to win the game. The reason Union was in this position was because they pounded even harder back. This game came down to a very few plays not executed late in the game by Union. I would not want to be Union’s opponent this week, they are pissed and with Camas basically going backwards in a hurry, I would be very careful to evaluate them otherwise. Skyview, you have the athletes and it is time for you to step up and show what you are capable of. You have the makings of a playoff team and of being a great representative of the GSHL. Get it going the way you can a no more excuses, please.

  34. Knute on September 21st, 2009 9:16 pm

The T-wolves were certainly NOT overlooked coming into the season. They were ranked by the Seattle Times & #2 on this site. Then they lost to Camas, & then to a 2A team. Why the 2A team was even scheduled is a mystery, but should have been an automatic W. I really do wish Heritage the best, the kids are out there hustling their guts out, & they’ve had their challenges with injuries. I just think the ‘adults’ on here are funny, predicting wins against the best teams in this area… You all are putting a TON of pressure on those kids.

  35. GSHL Dad on September 21st, 2009 9:34 pm

How is starting 3-0 going backwards? Camas is a good team and Battleground is going to be a big surprise to all of you who have written them off. Based on what I’ve seen at the Camas games, Battleground is a 1st or 2nd place team in 4A.

  36. 40 on September 21st, 2009 11:04 pm

I wouldn’t say Camas is going backwards, but I would say expectations are not being met. The Heritage game was very close, the pick 6 turned the game around. Battle ground kicked there butts for 3 1/2 quarters, and they were very sloppy against evergreen. I love Camas, but I am worried about the skyview game.

  37. camas Alumni on September 22nd, 2009 12:03 am

camas has always had to put forth more effort then any gshl team camas is always the smallest in terms of player size camas would love to have 6’5 linemen that bench over 300 but they havent had a linemen like that snice tom ramirez in the 2005 season last year was the first year they had tall receivers and this year they dont have that they dont have huge guys either so for being the smallest team they are pretty dang good

  38. Football Watcher on September 22nd, 2009 9:56 am

Are you kidding Camas Alumni. Union’s worked hell of a lot harder starting the year they opened. starting mostly sophomores, they had to prove themselves all season going 6-3. no other school can say they had a winning season their first year. then again last year making it to state. when was the last time Camas made it past the first round of the playoffs.

  39. UWfan1211 on September 22nd, 2009 10:17 am

camas is really not that talented of a team, they fight hard but just wont be able to keep up with the titans.
these are just my predictions of what will happen
    1. skyview
    2. battleground
    3. Mt view
skyview no question has the talent and determination to win 4A
battleground has tremondous speed on the outside and will upset a lot of people if they can improve up front
mt. view is very tough and has hard nose runners in the backfield
heritage is to soft and lacks to many skilled players for grayson to work with
    1. Union
    2. camas
Union no question has the experience and ability to easilly win 3A
Camas fight hard all season and not accept anything lower than second place
river seems to be sliding down hill from a once prestigous program and prairie has shown sighns of actually playing good football but hasent learned to play consistent yet but could very well challage river for the third place slot

  40. NoCal Homer on September 22nd, 2009 10:37 am

This site has become a POLITICAL platform!
I am looking for comprehensive insight on the athletes within the GSHL (4A & 3A)
    that is accurate and insightful!

Union gets a considerable amount of attention…deserved!
I am not affiliated with any of the programs but it does appear that the Skyview program is overlooked and their information is often inaccurate.

EXAMPLE: How does this site fail to list a returning two-way All Conference player within your list; the HENDERSON kid at Skyview may be the best overall athlete in the league!

I understand that he was 2nd All-GSHL as both a WR & DB…that’s insane that he is left off the list! Yet, you list Kody Watts as a player to watch and he may not even play this season!?!?

The Parker Henry kid is legit, too! I spent the weekend in the Seattle area watching our local teams play (I provide recruitment assistance for players & coaches)…Dodge, Henry & Henderson were incredible vs M/P!

Henry had a breakout game!!! He and Henderson had over 400 total yard together
(I couldn’t find it in the papers but) M/P stats had Henderson with 89 return yards to go with 110 receiving & Dodge is the best quarterback in the 4A GSHL given their scheme!

Grayson is very good, but I beleive Austin Dodge is right with him! Grindy rounds out the top three as I feel he does more with lesser talent. There’s some real D-1 talent in the GSHL and Henderson looks the most impressive to me and he’s still a junior!

Just my take as a recruting guy and felt it needed to be mentioned!
C’mon GSHL Football Staff…do your homework and represent ALL the athletes well. Guys like me depend on you as a source…BE ACCURATE & Non-Partisan!

as i stated before camas has never made it past the first round, and unions football players were from other schools im sure evergreen would of done really well too till union took there players…. i bet after those soph graduate union wont be as good as they used to be but…. now you tell me whats harder working with a bunch of talented players from other schools or working with a team of players that are not the fastest strongest tallest and being a winning team every single season no they dont go to state but id pick contenders for league title eveery season then being a one season team that goes all the way evergreen won state a couple years ago look where they are at now

  43. camas alumni on September 22nd, 2009 12:37 pm

im not saying camas is better then union i will let the players decide that when they play each other but camas works a lot harder then other teams to contend every season and stay consistent.. one season hopefully not too far off camas will get a chance to play in the Tacoma dome…

  44. 40 on September 22nd, 2009 1:08 pm

Camas Alumni, ask yourself why Camas did not have big, fast, strong kids in years past??………………….They did not work for it. The Camas program now has a bunch of kids and a staff who are working hard in the offseason to get bigger, stronger and faster.

  45. 40 on September 22nd, 2009 1:10 pm

And NoCal Homer is right about Henderson from Skyview. The kid is a stud. I think if they would have tried to use him more in the Union game, the result may have been a skyview win, but thats in the past, who knows.

  46. 40 on September 22nd, 2009 1:37 pm

Im not bashing you on this topic Camasalumni, I’m just trying to call it like I see it. I think Camas, starting with Holman, has got the program going in the right direction and with the way things are going could end up in the dome sometime in the near future. Its all about creating a program where kids buy in and work there tails off to be better then everyone else.

About “working harder”, Working hard is great but give me talent every time.

  48. camas alumni on September 22nd, 2009 5:01 pm

i totally agree with you 40 and im not sure what you mean by starting with holman, holman isnt the head coach anymore…. eagle is but holman came in and turned camas around and now eagle is picking up where he left off… working hard just doenst cut it though you gotta get talent… and camas suffers for not being lucky enough to have talent all over the field and they do work hard in the weight room i know how hard… my freshmen year i was about 140 pounds benching prob 145 my senior year i weighed 190 benching 280….. camas just never gets it all at once one year they have a fast RB so they run the ball next year they have two out standing wide outs so they pass since my freshmen year they have had only 3 great linemen Tom Ramirez, Austin Colviill, and Brian Gifford… the line is where they need help on along with getting talented players

  49. camas alumni on September 22nd, 2009 6:15 pm

i still believe that camas works harder then any team to be able to compete with the talent the other schools have

  50. LT on September 22nd, 2009 6:23 pm

honestly camas alumni your points are henous and just filled with ignorance. the titans have worked there butts off for 3 years. yeah they arent the biggest guy, fastes guyt, or strongest guy either but they are a good team! together they are a damn good TEAM. and thats what it takes. yeah beasley was good and a few others were.. but they struggle as a TEAM. thats what sets union apart from the rest. they spend so much time together. all day at school they all have lifting class together to get stronger and faster in, but hey are working hard every damn day. tehy eat lunch and watch film together EVERYDAY. they practice for 3 hours a day in which the intensity is expected to be game speed ALL PRACTICE long then they spend 5 hours every saturday togther. what makes union a good team… that could be a great team when they work out a few more kinks and injurires.. is the chemistry these young men have, the hard work and dedication that these men have put in for 3 years now. so find something else to use as a crutch other than not being big strong or fast, or sayin you work the hardest. because i know for a fact your wrong. camas is in shells 2 sometimes more times a week, union rarely gets one. FACT: union works and trains harder, YEAR ROUND then anyone else around

  51. 40 on September 22nd, 2009 6:28 pm

Frankly speaking, I did not say Skyview would of won, I said may. The words “who knows” at the end of my post kinda back up the “may.” I think alot of people who watched that game would have liked to see henderson used more on offense.

  52. camas Alumni on September 22nd, 2009 9:34 pm

i played football at camas and all varsity and swing players are required to take a weight training class together 4th period where they lift and also watch film camas started that my junior year before union was even built. camas has two football camps they go to during the summer and are required to go to the school weight room atleast 3 times a week during summer during the rest of the time most players play other sports during the winter and spring that sounds like year round to me!!!

  53. twolffan on September 22nd, 2009 10:00 pm

Wow, camas alumni. A 4th period weights class, huh? I’ve been in Camas’ weight room. There’s one squat rack!!! At Heritage, there is a weights class every period, including sports development classes. Oh, and there at least 16!!! multi-rack stations in the weightroom. Two camps? Heritage went to Western Oregon AND the McKenzie Valley team camp in Springfield, OR where they played Sheldon and Thurston, as well as scrimmaged Glacier Peak from Snohomish. Year round athletes? Look at the number of all-league wrestlers, basketball players, baseball players, etc that ALSO play football. Stop crying and whining. You guys have so many resources within your community, it’s not even funny. Heritage kids have far more to worry about than Camas kids. Then again, money breeds it’s own issues, like people who feel their entitled to something just cause they’re from Camas. You guys beat us fair and square. Stop coming on here complaining about what you have or don’t have, or how much harder you guys work than everybody else.

  54. 40 on September 22nd, 2009 10:25 pm

That is definately not how it is a Camas anymore. The weight room still sucks(Thank’s to a certain Camas school district employee, who decided to ask no one who knows anything about what equipment is needed or how big a weight room needs to be when the school was being built.) Plans are in the works though to expand the weight room. Eagle has got a better program going on. there are numerous sports development classes as well as weight training classes. They also have a great strength training coach on staff now. It is his 2nd year here and there are massive gains being made by kids in terms of strength. I think it is ridiculous for anyone to come on here and say “my teams kids work harder then the other teams kids”

  55. 40 on September 22nd, 2009 10:27 pm

And twolffan, most of those overprivledged rich kids are not playing football, they are not tough enough.

  56. camas Alumni on September 22nd, 2009 11:36 pm

i dont know why twolffan felt the need to put his/her two cents in on a conversation that didnt really involve heritage… anyways first camas has five squat racks and why you were in there weight room i have no idea but its soo funny to watch you contradict your self 40 in ur last post you were saying union trains harder and now ur saying people shouldnt be saying that on here why dont you make up ur mind and stick with one story…. you are right about the weight room being to small though i mean the school is already too small portables had to be built oh and to twolffan are you serious!!! you actually thought camas only had one weight training class during 4th lol wow some one need to go back to middle school… but for ur info there is 8 weight training classes they have before school zero period and after school 7th period

  57. twolffan on September 23rd, 2009 9:08 am

Actually, camas alumni, the reason why I felt the need to put my 2 cents into this conversation is because you are leaving comments on the Heritage-CR game report.

  58. Fan of the U on September 23rd, 2009 11:37 am

Nobody would call Camas Alumni the sharpest observer on here. Reference – “wow some one need to go back to middle school” – that pretty much sums it up. He provides several examples of quality learning that Camas High produces, but that is one of my favorites. Three cheers for the G.E.D!!!!!!!!

  59. camas alumni on September 23rd, 2009 12:34 pm

well then you must be even worse since camas has the highest or one of the highest academic programs in the state..

  60. Fan of the U on September 23rd, 2009 12:53 pm

I doubt that is true- but if it is, how did you slip through?

  61. Cam-Town What!! on September 23rd, 2009 1:07 pm

union is going to lose to camas and they know it

  62. camas alumni on September 23rd, 2009 1:49 pm

you must be really retarded not to understand why i said middle school…..they dont have periods like high school and besides why do you care it wasnt to you

  63. GSHL Dad on September 23rd, 2009 4:29 pm

I don’t think anyone here should be taking on Camas’ reputation for acedemics. Camas is well beyond any Evergreen high school acedemically.

  64. GSHL Dad on September 23rd, 2009 4:35 pm

I meant any of the Evergreen School District high schools.

  65. Knute on September 23rd, 2009 6:57 pm

You realize that you misspelled academics & academically…right? HILARIOUS! Plus camas alumni just can’t quite figure out that pesky ‘there’ vs ‘their’ thing. I’m sure they covered that @ the prestigious Camas High, but he was probably too busy telling stories from 5 years ago that have no relevance today and no one cares about.

  66. GSHL Observer on September 23rd, 2009 7:23 pm

Skyview, it is time for you to flex your muscles and stomp on Camas. You have too much talent to let this one get away and you certainly should dominate this game from starrt to finsih. This is a great chance to make a statement about who you are and what you are capable of. Send the Camas team home crying to their moms and let’s enjoy that sound all the way from Wahougal to Kelso. I look forward to watching the game unfold and cheering for the Storm. You guys are up for this and you need to show the GSHL 4A that you are the team to beat. Good Luck Friday.

  67. camas alumni on September 23rd, 2009 7:56 pm

i wouldnt say there gonna dominate but skyview does have the chance to win

  68. camas alumni on September 23rd, 2009 7:59 pm

to knute you know as well as everyone else when talking on forums and texting using the right form of there isnt important

  69. GSHL Observer on September 23rd, 2009 8:16 pm

Skyview, let’s make it crystal clear. I predict you WILL dominate the Camas team and inflict an absolute butt kicking upon the Papermakers (I’m sure there are plenty of appropriate references to this mascot). There is no way you should play to their level, they are stumblin, bumblin and they know it and cannot stop it. Their fans concede that you will win. Seize the moment and rise above their mediocrity. Get the job done in the way you know how and enjoy the outcome in your favor. We are all watching and cheering for the Storm. There is only one team in the GSHL that is always way too high on themselves year after year and that is Camas.

  70. Knute on September 23rd, 2009 10:13 pm

Oh, but I don’t know that…. spelling & grammar tells the world a lot about who you are. Why not take the time & do it correctly regardless of forum? So, I reject your response. Based on your dozens & dozens of other posts I think you have comprehension issues as well. You yell @ 40 (who is a rational Camas fan & whose opinion I value) about something he DIDN’T say & you are impossible to follow because you lack the ability to properly form a sentence. I see your posts & I immediately discount them because you have only proved yourself to be a nitwit.

  71. GSHL Fan on September 23rd, 2009 10:50 pm

I can’t wait for the Heritage and Union and also the Skyview vs Camas game. Good luck two both teams

  72. GSHL Fan on September 23rd, 2009 10:51 pm

Excuse me, I meant to say for all four teams.

  73. Ro' on September 23rd, 2009 11:03 pm

Good Luck to all the players this weekend…represent your schools with grace and class! Play Hard & Stay Healthy!

  74. Fan of the U on September 24th, 2009 8:37 am

I agree – good luck to all the teams this weekend. And best of luck to Camas Alumni as he tries to communicate with the English speaking world.

  75. Battletested on September 24th, 2009 8:49 am

    Camas 24 Skyview 21
    Prairie 33 Stevenson 12
Heritage 27 Union 30 in OT

Book all these predictions and I will gloat on aturday

  76. fannnngshl on September 24th, 2009 9:21 am

    KNUTE your rude!!!!
i prefer bad grammar over being rude anytime

  77. camas alumni on September 24th, 2009 12:05 pm

thnaks fannngshl… knute just doesnt get it and will do anything to make me look bad

  78. knute on September 24th, 2009 12:37 pm

You don’t need my help for that, pal

  79. franklyspeaking on September 24th, 2009 1:28 pm

On the Camas vs Skyview game, defense will win that game.
Union vs Heritage same thing Union has to stop the pass and Heritage has to stop the run.
Turn overs key in both games SIMPLE

Knute keep it light and fun, please

Enjoy another grrrreat gshl football weekend.

  80. GSHL Fan on September 24th, 2009 3:11 pm

I seem to recall an old saying… something about being the bigger man… Just letting it go…

Real words of wisdom right there.

  81. GSHL Fan on September 24th, 2009 3:12 pm

Also I would like to point out I’m the original GSHL Fan and not the new one that has popped up.

    Just to avoid confusion.

  82. knute on September 24th, 2009 4:42 pm

Okay, call me out I don’t care…at least I make valid & understandable points. Everything that is said here is right on the money & no one should ever question or counter anything that is posted on this site…got it.

  83. GSHL Fan on September 24th, 2009 6:26 pm

I never said anything like that.

I was refering to this little online word scuffle. If someone says something you disagree with (preferably something about football) then by all means disagree with him/her, in a respectful way, then leave it at that unless the person offers a counter-argument of their own (also in a respectful way I would hope) and continue from there. But all this back and forth about the online grammatical prowess of others is not what this site was made for.

I’m done talking on this issue and I suggest you all do the same.

  84. camas alumni on September 24th, 2009 7:16 pm

    thanks gshl fan :)

  85. Knute on September 24th, 2009 9:00 pm

Thanks for your opinion, GHSL. I was pretty much done with it after I made my statement – which was to counter a previously stated point. But, I’m pretty sure I can say just about whatever I want to here…no one is reigning in the kid who posts every 5 minutes, how come there are rules all of the sudden specifically about what I can say? You can always choose to not read my posts.

  86. GSHL Fan on September 24th, 2009 10:07 pm

I know that I said I was done with this… But this needs to be said.

This is a website dedicated to GSHL Football. If someone chooses not to write in a formal manner then that’s their choice. But when you derail the discussion from talking about GSHL Football in order to make ad hominem arguements then you aren’t being benefical to the discussion or this site at all and it is a bad reflection of your character and YOUR intelligence sir.

Now maybe it was camas alumni that took the discussion down this “academics” road and all this about the CHS weight room (Why this matters… I have no clue) but perhaps maybe you and everyone else could have took a second to realize that you don’t have to feed this conversation and can stop it right there.

So sure say whatever you want, but I would hope that you could at the very least understand that people look to this site for GSHL Football information and discussion, not you being Mr. Internet Tough Guy picking on the guy that doesn’t spell check and that you don’t agree with.

So there ya go, I had to spell it out for you word for word but I think (I hope) that you get my point.

  87. Knute on September 24th, 2009 10:25 pm

Didn’t need to be said, don’t care about your opion, don’t read my posts…the end.

  88. camas Alumni on September 24th, 2009 10:29 pm

actually Knute fed the fire that Fan of U started by bashing camas and their academic program knute just moved it from camas to me….. i in no way started this whole subject over academics but i wasn’t gonna let camas take a low blow

  89. camas Alumni on September 24th, 2009 10:31 pm

that is the last thing i am going to say about this…. good luck to every team playing tomorrow!!!!! and as always GO CAM-TOWN!!!

  90. heritageplyer93 on September 25th, 2009 9:38 am

heritage will have a big win over the so called U not in over time not in the first half but the game will be decided in the 4th quarter because that is where heritage plays best no dought about it. we are undefeated at homecomming games just as evergreen and mt. view. this will be the game of the year.

  91. twolffan on September 25th, 2009 12:22 pm

Heritageplyer93, don’t know who you are, but you’re embarrASSing us. Just focus on playing tonight and let your pads do the talking.

  92. T-Wolf fan for life on September 25th, 2009 12:44 pm

It’s not the size of the dog it’s the size of the fight in the dog that makes all the deferens in the world and I think that is why heritage will win we love to fight and battle

  93. camas Alumni on September 25th, 2009 11:31 pm

there wasnt much of a fight out of the t-wolves
