Things had not been good the past few weeks for Heritage.
Things are good now for the Timberwolves following a comeback 28-21 OT win over the Evergreen Plainsmen at McKenzie Stadium. Heritage had not defeated the Plainsmen since 2000, the last time the Timberwolves won a league championship.
Trailing 21-14 in the 4th quarter, Heritage RB Tyree Shired tied the game with a 1 yard run. Then added another 1 yard run in OT for the game winner.
With the win, Heritage improves to 3-3 and importantly 2-0 in GSHL 4A and a first place tie with Skyview (5-1 2-0). The Timberwolves host Kelso on Saturday at McKenzie. The Plainsmen ended a three game winning streak with the loss and fall to 3-3 and 1-1. Evergreen travels to Kiggins Bowl Thursday night to play first place Skyview.
