Kelso Runs All Over Evergreen In 35-13 Win

Written by Bryan Levesque on October 2, 2009

Kelso came into McKenzie Stadium Thursday night looking to get their offense back on track. That’s just what the Hilanders did as they ran for 5 TD in a 35-13 road win. Kelso RB Lane Sari had 3 rushing TD’s on the night including one from 77 yards to cap off the Hilanders scoring and give his team a 35-0 lead as the 4th quarter began. Evergreen was able to move the ball in the game, however turnovers and failed 4th down conversions sealed their fate. The Plainsmen did manage 2 4th quarter TD’s. Runs by TE Kyle Cahoon and RB Tommy Thorpe keep Evergreen from getting shout out for a second time this season.

With the win Kelso improves to 1-0 in league and 4-1 overall on the season. Kelso will host Mountain View (3-1) on Friday.

Evergreen falls to 0-1 in league with the loss and 2-3 overall. Evergreen will face Heritage at McKenzie (as the road team) on Friday.
