Written by on November 22, 2008
Lakes’ Teddy Cotton scored the go ahead TD on a 83 yard run to give the Lancers a 18-14 lead early in the 4th quarter.
Lakes had a 12-0 lead in the second after a 58 yard TD run by Willis Wilson. Eeastside Catholic’s Mike Bush capped off a 65 yard drive with a 1 yard run to make half time score 12-7.
In the third Eastside Catholic took the 14-12 lead following Marion Bactol’s 38 yard TD run.
The winner of the Ferndale Union game will play the Lakes Lancers in the WIAA Semifinals Novermber 28 or 29. Not srue, but I think it will be in the Tacoma Dome.

Got something to say?

Closer than I thought. What’s going on with Lakes’ kicking game – two missed extra points in the playoffs?
Next game could be a breeze for whomever wins this Union/Ferndale game…
How can you say that? Lakes beat two top ten teams to get here. O’dea & Eastside were ranked all year. Besides being a bad idea to underestimate any opponent, to not do a little research only compounds the mistake.
You’re talking to the wrong guy about doing research etc. I know all about that. I was just kidding around. I know they would be tough, just probably more beatable than Ferndale. I know Union wouldn’t take anyone lightly in a state semifinal.
Be careful comenting about UNION being beatable, all they have done is beat 4A teams in southwest wa all year, also 3A teams. They are only a (2) year old school, with no seniors last year. Please dont sound like eastcoast bias to southwest Wa. We are extremely proud of these young men.
To bad the game is on “Black FRIDAY.” why!!!!!!!
-.-
Why are you so worried about Black Friday. Shopping on that day with the old ladies sounds like a nightmare. It’s a big football day.
Mike…I think Michael was referring to Lakes being more beatable than Ferndale not Union but he still should realize Ferndale had to travel along away for this game and now Union will have to do the same to play the Lancers. We are a very tough team I assure you.

Lets give these boys the support they deserve and get up to Tacoma! Besides Black Sunday is done with the deals by noon. Come on people, no excuses. I’m going and taking 5 other friends who I convinced to travel with me. We need at least 2000 bodies to make the Titans feel the love.
During this thread it would be nice if everyone would comment if they will be attending and how many fans they will be taking with them.
GO TITANS!!!
I’ll be heading up with family. Friends from Redmond will come down that are just football fans. There will be 10 or more of us.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
just to inform union fans….lakes high school is only 10 MINUTES away from the tacoma dome. Its crucial that we get as many people there possible to support the titans…
we dont want the game to turn out as a “home game” for lakes…
not only should union fans come….but everyone in southwest washington
UNION FTBL…Lakes is a little bit further away than 10 minutes but I get your point. I hope that Union brings as many fans as they can because it always makes the games more exciting when there are huge crowds. Good Luck to you guys but I hope we beat you by 1 point

Lancer 24,
We’ll do our best to get a crowd up there. Thanks for the nice comment on the site as the first Lakes person that I have seen post ! Let’s have some fun !!!!!
We’ll be there with at least 5. We are planning on meeting at Union at 12;45 to caravan up and then we are going to tailgate again before the game. More details later on the tailgater!
Go U!!!!!1
Okay, I got 8 more people to commit to going for sure!
Lancer 24,
All teams are beatable, including Union. Before the Union/Ferndale game, I felt Ferndale was as good as it gets in the state. I didn’t think Union could beat them. That’s what you get for going by what you see on paper.
I know Lakes will be very tough. Even if not as much on paper, it’s all about matchups. Union might not match up as well with Lakes. Who knows. Lakes might pose problems that are too much for Union. And yes, it will be even tougher this week having to go up there.
We shall see what happens. Whenyou get this far, you’ll get killed if you take any team even a little lightly. It’ll be fun to watch.
