What? Your not going to kick a field goal. You have no time to run a play and kick. After overcoming bad calls,it seems the HEAD COACH could not make the right call and kick the field goal from the six yard line to tie the game.MM was not a good team at all. The wolves need new leadership. This coach has turned the program into a circus of revolving players. The team has plenty of players and talent, so what is the problem? Its time for change. The wolves will be lucky to win a game this year. Get the program a coach who can coach, make adjustments, and possibly carry some of these young men to the next level. Tnink about it ,two years from now these kids will be gone, but the program will not. This program needs new leadership. I dont expect a state champion but its really a bad deal for these young men.

Well maybe the Monarchs were lucky, but Heritage shot themselves in the foot for fouls and taunting the entire game. Its not just the coaching staff look at the players too!

  3. justsayin on September 11th, 2010 10:56 am

    Nice job Monarchs!

Best of the worst-I understand if you think that Heritage should have been coached, but it’s going a little far to say Mark Morris was not a good team AT ALL.

  4. Big Poppa on September 11th, 2010 11:35 am

If players are taunting the opposition, that’s coaching too.

  5. anotherfan on September 11th, 2010 2:06 pm

Best of the Worst: I am really having a hard time understanding how turning on the leadership of the football program is going to be useful in any way to your kid or any of the kids in the program. You want to be supportive? Critical? Insightful? Fine. But these remarks are cancerous and can only cause more problems. I sure hope this isn’t an ex-coach whose kid is currently in the program, because this is the kind of garbage that tears programs apart.

MM is a good program. They are a good team. As far as not kicking the field goal… I’ve always heard, go for the win on the road and the tie at home.

Best of the worst-Is your real name Dan O. You sound the same online as you do in the stands. You were a discrace last night, me and the rest of the true t-wolf fans wish you would just go away. You are the kind of parent that poison programs. As for going for the win, My son says we were planning to throw once then kick if we did not get it. Maybe we did not have enough time, but we will never know since we ran.

    To: another fan,

I come on this site quite regularly to keep up with GSHL football and the Twolves. I do weigh in on the picks each week and enjoy high school football as a whole. I have played or coached now for nearly 20 years in and outside this community. Since you have so diligently called me out specifically, let me address your comment. I am NOT best of the worst or any other Heritage cancer spreader trying to “rip” the program apart. I am the ONLY former coach with a player currently in the program so you obviously know who I am. Feel free to address me in person rather than use this football web site to insinuate I may post disparaging comments about a program I fully support and my son is involved with. I will be at practice on Monday as I am quite regularly to show my support of the program and my Son. Since you may be either a coach or a supporter of the program, I’m sure you will be there at practice so we can discuss. Thanks.

Bryan, it was nice seeing you today and we all appreciate your coverage of GSHL Football for this area and it’s fans. It is FANTASTIC!!! Keep up the good work my friend.

Another fan, the program is already torn, and sorry shelock i have no kids on the team but it sounds like u may have issues with others.

    Best of the worst-
Who is shell shock? Dan did you forget what screen name you were using, or who you were bashing? So many people to bash, so little time.

  11. wolfman on September 11th, 2010 6:14 pm

    Best of the worst-
No kid in the program- why do you care? If you are just a local fan- then you know that this staff has made the post season the last three years in a row. Only three teams in the 3a and 4a can say the same, Skyview, Camas, and Heritage. They also only made the post season once the 7 years before these guys took over so ya lets fire them all. Look your kid must not be playing- we get it- be a man and go talk to the coach- don’t take shots on here. That helps no-one. You, your kid or the program.

  12. HHSisthebest on September 11th, 2010 7:12 pm

Any parent bashing the kids or coaching staff is embarrassing. Take it up like a grown up with the AD or sit down with the head coach. My son was fortunate to play for the 07 and 08 staff and most of them still coach with little turn over. I can say the coaches I have seen work hard for these boys, oreach about being together and doing the right thing. Remember kids will be kids and do their own thing in the heat of the moment..From all the reports I got from the game, some kids didnt do what is coached. Not earth shattering news. My boy did that at times. All you can ask is the coaches put the kids in the best situation to succeed. I always felt thats the case at Heritage as well as many SW Washington schools. Only thing that prevents that from happening is premadonnas and overbearing parents.

It is truly unfortunate to hear all of the in fighting amongst the Heritage “faithful”. Maybe even more unfortunate that you take a shot at the 2A team that just beat you. How does that help anything? Mark Morris isn’t a good team, “AT ALL”? How does this help your situation in Vancouver? While the season is still early, and time will tell how good the Monarchs are, to say that they are not a good team is a little suspect. The coaches there have developed a winning attitude that is evident from their three consecutive state playoff appearances. Success breeds success. It is this attitude that allowed a school half the size of Heritage, with less athleticism, and down two scores in the 4th quarter to win.

You are name dropping… whats your name? You know some people have a differance of opinion. That is good. Because if you don’t like other peoples opinions there, their, they’re is Communist China looking for a few people to join there, their, they’re one sided attitudes.

  15. kings on September 12th, 2010 10:12 pm

Whose name was dropped? What is up with all of the their, there, they’re ‘s? Lastly, aren’t you being a bit hypocritical? It seems as though you have an issue with my opinion. Frustrating isn’t it.

  16. MVHS Athlete on September 12th, 2010 10:20 pm

The only reason why heritage made it to the playoffs was garrett grayson. Notice how after he leaves the pass heavy offense doesnt really work and they have little to no run game? The heritage coaches pretty much got blessed coming in with him holding the reigns ever since glascoe got hurt week 2 of graysons sophmore year

  17. egreen on September 13th, 2010 5:08 am

Kings – My comments where not directed your way. The person that had their, there, they’re name dropped has been edited by the webmaster, that is why it does not appear in the blog above yours. Their, There, They’re is just in-case the grammar police are in the house. Lastly, I love to hear everyones opinion, thats why I am here.

On a personal note Kings, I agree with you.

I am sorry a non league loss tears a team’s fans apart. the twolves played well and their running back played an excellent game. I can’t speak for them but i don’t think the go-for-it was a bad idea since they were away and won’t have the crowd cheering for a extra quarter. I don’t mean to be mean, but they are VERY dirty. They were hitting after the whistle. and they even yanked ben nofsinger’s helmet off, and then the guy threw a punch. then a ball boy or somethin ran on the field and yet no one got ejected

It was an exciting game to the end egreen!

  20. Coach on September 13th, 2010 10:30 pm

Give me a break “Best of the worst”, arm chair quarterbacking again are we? First of all Nate is a very good football coach as well as a very knowlegable coach, and I do agree with you on one thing only… that there is talent on the team.
The problem isn’t lack of talent or coaching it’s lack of heart with the majority of the players. To play this game at a competitive level you have got to want to knock helmets off every time you attempt a tackle, play every down like every eye in the stadium is on you and run the football like time is running out on every carry…those are things that for the most part can’t be coached, either you have it or you don’t…there is no middle ground when it comes to hitting, either you want contact or you avoid contact….not something you can coach, sorry! Another thing you can not coach is being competitive…either you are a competitive person or you are not…I don’t care how much you preach it as a coach. Most of the kids in my view are very non-competitive kids and lack heart as football players. The wolves will win a couple of games this year just based on sheer talent that you mentioned but will lose a lot because of the type of kids that make up the masses of that team. So relax don’t beat up anyone in the stands, or should I say don’t get beat up in the stands for being an obnoxious loud mouth, keep your mouth shut, go coach youth football where you might, just might, earn the respect of a 4th grader and keep the decision making to people who are actually football knowledgable. Did you forget that it is Orchards that feeds Heritage?…come on man it’s Orchards. Oh, and lose the “Best of the worst” thing, we all know it’s you Dan….Pretty obvious!!! Go Wolves!

  21. Kurt Davies on September 13th, 2010 10:54 pm

Be careful what you wish for! Nate Becksted is the best football coach Heritage has ever seen. How quickly you forget where the program was when he took over. It’s one thing to question a call, it’s completely outta line to say that a coach must go. A few years ago everyone said you could never win in any sport at Heritage, correct me if I’m wrong but they have been winning in quite a few sports (one in particular that I know pretty well). I know of one job Nate could have at a moments notice…so be careful what you wish for!

okay, that’s enough guys. “Best of the worst” is not Dan. This has gone way too far. If I have to I will just delete any future comments that even mention Heritage, and I don’t want to do that. Look the lost, that happens PERIOD! Let’s congratulate Michael Rivers, Jake Dahlberg and Riley O’Dell for scoring TD’s and encourage them to hang in there and do their best at Skyview Friday. Mark Morris is a smaller school but coach Perkins has that program in a good spot. Both teams will be alright. This site was not created for people to complain about coaching staffs and kids. This is my first and only warning. I have no issues deleting ANY comment that mentions Heritage if this does not stop. ugh!
