R.A. Long Wins At Hudson’s Bay 14-0

Written by Bryan Levesque on September 11, 2010

The R.A. Long Lumberjacks improved to 2-0 on the season with a 14-0 shutout victory over Hudson’s Bay (0-2) at Kiggins Bowl.

Tanner Chamberlain’s 36 yard Int. return for a score in the first quarter gave the Jacks an early 7-0 lead. In the forth quarter, R.A. Long QB Austin Wegdahl hit Garrett Muniz  from 11 yards out to put the game away at 14-0.

Freshman RB Jacob Yordy had a  78 yard punt return for TD called back on a questionable illegal use of hands call. Yordy had a 85 yard game winning kick off return last week in the Jacks 21-14 home win over Elma.

With the win R.A. Long improves to 2-0 on the season and will host Rainier of Oregon (2-0). Hudson’s Bay falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss and has only scored 7 points all season. The Eagles will start league play next Friday at Kelso (2-0) in a 7:00 pm game.

I’m very disappointed in Bay. They have athletes, but what are they being asked to do? 2 straight losses to 2A schools. This sucks! Will we win a game? Give me something to cheer about!
