Sherwood Too Much For Skyview, As Storm Fall 42-28 On The Road

Written by Bryan Levesque on September 4, 2010

There were plenty of fireworks Friday night as Washington’s #7 4A team Skyview could not keep up with Oregon’s #1 5A (Oregon 5A is like Washington’s 3A) team Sherwood.

The Bowmen’s powerful wing-t offense was too much for the young Storm defense to stop. Skyview WR Ellis Henderson caught 2 TD’s from QB Kody Watts, 66 yards and 33 yards. Henderson also had an interception and a blocked extra point.

Skyview will host Coeur d’Alene next Saturday at 7:00 pm.

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS WILL BE UP SUNDAY!

Nice try Skyview! Its only the first game though remember that. That Wing-T offense is a pain in the butt isn’t it?

I will be the first to say yes Sherwood has a good football team that’s why they are ranked 1st in 5A. There were a handful of skyview players where last night was thirty first look at varsity speed now they have a game under their belt and its time to improve.

i was so dissapointed our line needs work brian what is your thoughts

    OVERRATED…Skyview?

  5. SJ on September 4th, 2010 2:33 pm

not overated i would say that sherwood was one heck of a good team and had a very fast and powerful run game

  6. Storm from EWU on September 4th, 2010 3:35 pm

Sherwood had a great ground game. D line and receivers need to get settled and focused. So much fun to watch skyview football, I love the vibe amongst the storm parents and fans at the games.

Camas. Can’t win a big game? Still a little hurt about the game last year.

  8. StormFan on September 4th, 2010 7:48 pm

    Skyview played excellently!
I’m thinking a powerful running game like Sherwood is gonna be tough for Skyview to handle compared to last year. They had awesome LBs in Alec Osborn and Johnny Barrett, among others. The guys filling their shoes all have what it takes, they just need the experience, and facing off against such a strong running team in the beginning is just what they needed! I can’t wait for the next game!

Skyview is an excellent team and I’m excited for camas and skyview to play. Neither fans should be putting either team down. Sherwood was #1 in 5a and I think skyview did good against a powerful team. Camas also prived today that they can win big games. Don’t give into people’s tauntings, it just makes it worse and makes your school look bad.

bryan i am just wondering what is your opinion on how skyview should do this year, do you think they will do better then there first game ( i do)

  11. camashype on September 5th, 2010 1:57 pm

    sky alum;

We won in qwest, who cares about last year? New season new goals, you may need to just set yours lower. Union doesn’t look like they lost as much as most people said.
Just keep making excuses for the loss, you may need to get used to it.

  12. stormpride on September 5th, 2010 5:05 pm

camashype. i am pretty sure that skyview alumni’s statement wasnt intended to make excuses for why they lost but more a reason as to why they will improve and still win this league. so many small mistakes that made for a lot of points by the storm.they are going to win this league. i guarantee it

  13. Storm1 on September 6th, 2010 8:19 am

stormpride……Good luck to you making a guarantee like that. If you saw the storm play Friday I would be intrested to know what might change? I think maybe Skyview just chocked this up to a rebuilding year. Why else would the field be loaded with Sophmore’s that haven’t seen tackling drill practice?

I’m hoping that by the time league starts the best players will be on the field and the great hope sophmores will play JV for some experience. SVHS has a great staff that should be able to get things worked out…..But they have many holes and lack a Team leader(s) on the field. One or more of these players need to step up, focus on Skyview Football and blank out the next level. Be it football or baseball. Make a commitment to their team and show leadership now.

    Go Storm!

Bryan where is the highlight video??

  15. Storm fan from CWU on September 9th, 2010 11:14 pm

Haha camashype go comment on your teams post because you are doing nothing but embarrassing yourself and your team all because you are still a little upset that skyview showed you how to win in the game last year! :) good luck with your new goals…I hope one includes to not be in the stands watching skyview in the playoffs after you choke in the first round hahaha could go on forever :)

  16. camashype on September 10th, 2010 8:58 am

    Storm fan from CWu.

It is always great, to hear of someone reliving their high school days in college. Hey, maybe you make it home every week to go to the games. Living in last year no, the fact that is what is constantly brought up is where skyview is living…the past. Plus at least we will make the playoffs this year.

There is a new top dog. Get used to it.

  17. Storm fan from CWU on September 10th, 2010 9:08 am

I love arguing with ignorant immature people like yourself camashype…I can’t make it home sorry I have my own games to worry about! None of you arrogant camas kids can even speak til you beat skyview cause right now you haven’t done anything but throw out stupid comments. And let’s not talk about playoffs til you get passed the first round :)

I’ve always thought you should walk the walk before you talk the talk Camashype.

  19. 55+ on September 10th, 2010 10:02 am

Typical Camas(OVER)Hype. We all hear this every year and you can never back it up. Take 40′s advice and shut down until you actually achieve something.

  20. stormpride on September 10th, 2010 10:40 am

storm1:as for what i think will change for the storm. well the receivers dropped a lot of passes, a few that should have gone for 6, kody watts will get comfortable (it was his first game starting varsity) the defense will play better tackling and such, young linebackers in their first game on varsity against a good wing t team (it was hard last year against marysville with experienced linebackers) and the offense will just simply move the ball better. no offense is harder to run early in the year than the gun zone read option, it takes to to build rhythm and chemistry with your teammates. even last years team only put up 9 (i think) in their first game last year (however hats off to union last year).high school teams dont get much time to prepare for the season (only 12-15 practices i think) so a lot can change

Hopefully most understand that whatever is posted on this site is individual opinion and doesn’t reflect an official and/or general opinion from that particular school. I no longer have kids at Camas, but I’ll certainly cheer on the team as a community supporter (and will ignore the boastful predictions).

Got something to say?
