Skyview 2009 Spring Practice Breakdown

As spring practice comes to a close, what are your initial thoughts about your team?

Coach Kizer – We have a long ways to go as a team. Most of our skill guys are returning and getting back to the form they finished last season with. We are inexperienced on both the OL and the DL.

Who are 3-4 of your returning players from last year’s Varsity team?

Coach Kizer – Our top returners are; Austin Dodge (QB) 2nd Team All-League 08, Ian Zarosinski (WR/DB) 1st Team All-Region 08, Jonny Barrett (LB) 1st Team All-League 08, Matt Spears (RB/LB), Karl Graves (WR), Ellis Henderson (WR/DB) 2nd Team All-League 08.

What players were not on the Varsity last season who you expect to be impact players this season?

Coach Kizer – Newcomers are; Parker Henry (RB/DB), Cody Fields (OL/DL)

About how many players are you expecting to turn out in the fall?

Coach Kizer – We expect to have 140 9th-12th graders participate in the fall.

What are your goals as a team for the 2009 season?

Coach Kizer – We always have the goal of getting better every week and winning the league championship.
