Skyview Dominates Second Half In 40-21 Win Over Bethel To Advance To State Quarterfinals

Written by Bryan Levesque on November 14, 2009

The Skyview Storm wanted to let everyone know that they are not only a passing team.

The message was personally delivered by Strom RB Matt Spears. Spears rushed for 4 TD’s in Skyview’s 40-21 home play off win. QB Austin Dodge also connected with WR Karl Graves for 2 TD in the win.

Bethel RB Anthony Meray did score all 3 Bethel TD’s.

With the win, Skyview improves to 9-2. The Strom will host #3 Auburn (11-0) next weekend at Kiggins Bowl.

Bethel falls to 9-2 with the loss. The Braves season is over.

    Way to go Storm,

I love these videos, esp the slow motion when Austin was 1 on1 with Happy and sent him face first into the turf. Thanks for putting these together!

oh, I suppose I must correct myself. Happy did manage to roll over before he made it to the ground…

Could be a perfect “storm” brewing…I have seen video fo Auburn and the are good, very good. I believe another solid balanced effort by Skyview will produce another victory and entry into the state Semi-Finals.

This has been an incredible season to watch this team grow as a unit and family.
Coaches truly need to be commended and players, too! There’s a lot of talented players who have done a great job of sacraficing for each other all year!

Congrats, you truly are a team that deserves your success.
Now get back to work and beat Auburn!

Wow! I’m sure Happy has had better days, but I pretty much saw him quit on every play that wasn’t run directly to him. (on this tape anyway, I was at the Union game) The 2nd play of the tape left me speechless. Happy really is quite agile, especially for his size but I wonder if Dodge was able to maintain a straight face after he essentially broke the dude’s ankles like he was Allen Iverson, or something. By the way, you can’t teach what Dodge did there. Just a big time athlete making an instinctive play, and basically undressing one of the best players in the State.

Auburn is very tough, no question but they have to travel to Kiggens which give Skyview an advantage. Plus, I’m not sure if they get their 3 suspended players back or not. One of them was their top rusher this year. If anyone has any info on this, I’d be interested in hearing it. Hope they schedule the two local games seperate from each other next week, they would increase attendance @ both games if they did & take in a higer gate…doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, WIAA!

Yea!!! Higer gate Just Sayin, Auburn suspensions have been paid off. You are a genius!

Concerning the suspension at Auburn, here is a link to the incident… It states the players are suspended for the season.

( actually it says they are out for 25 “participation days or the season) oops…

‘Auburn (10-0) will still be without leading rusher and safety Chris Young, who last week was suspended for the remainder of the season for violating the school’s athletic code’

    …found it, thanks!

Skyview looks scary right now, Auburn better be clickin on all cylinders if they want to come away with a W. Skyviews highlights have been the most fun to watch this year hands down in my opinion, for some reason I can’t get enough of them.

this game will be great im ready to see what the out come is i have faith in my team 3 players doesnt effect the way the Trojans play football

  13. SHS fan from EWU on November 15th, 2009 8:07 pm

That may be true, but 11 Storm players might change the way those Trojans play.
I have no doubt it will be a good game, Its about time a team gives Skyview a challenge in the postseason. I though Bethel might… but that didn’t happen. Auburn and MP were close as was the Skyview vs MP game, so I’m sure this one will be a bit more fun.

    Go Storm!
