Turnovers Doom Titans In Semifinals As Bellevue Tops Union 19-13

Written by Bryan Levesque on November 27, 2009

The Union Titans defense played one heck of a football game tonight.

The mighty Bellevue Wolverines were held without an offensive TD but still defeated Union 19-13 in the WIAA Semifinals.

After trailing 6-0 at the half, Union gave up a 97 yard KO return for a TD to Braynden Van Ackeren and found themselves in a 13-0 hole early in the third.

Union QB Brandon Weller found Mitch Saylor from 35 yards out to cut the lead to 13-6 before the extra point was blocked.

Two more FG by Sciabica and the Titans were down 19-6 with only 6:10 in the game.

The Titans were able to drive 62 yards in 6 plays when Nataniel Penaranda scored on a 4 yard run to cut the lead to 19-13 with 1:19 to go.

The Union onside magice however was all gone as the kick went right into the hands of Van Ackeren and the win to the Wolverines.

With the win Bellevue improves to 11-2. The Wolverines will play Liberty next Friday for the WIAA 3A Championship.

Union drops to 11-2 with the loss. The Titans season is over.

Told ya all so. No excuses for the loss please. Similar we should of beat em would sound similar to what Camas said about your game.

  2. greater saint on November 27th, 2009 10:41 pm

this game was just like the camas game from what i read here… camas and union just had a higher score and union had to make another comeback but bellvue knew what they were doing on the onside kick to conceal the win

  3. PopPrep on November 27th, 2009 10:44 pm

Bellevue won on field goals and a lucky break… Congrats… I bet you feel reeaaaal good about that one.

Union stuffed Bellevue for most of the game on defense. Offense just didn’t show up to play.

This was probably the closest we are going to get back to the championship for a couple years to in 3A. It’s dissipointing.

  4. ha! on November 27th, 2009 11:02 pm

PopPrep, Bellvue won so how can you put them down? It looks to me like Union is walking away with a loss no matter how you look at it.
That’s like telling Union that they shouldn’t feel proud from beating Camas like they did….?
Either way Bellvue won, just like i said they would….

  5. big earl on November 27th, 2009 11:37 pm

Union should have won this game tonight, they dominated the line of scrimage for most of the game, but did not make the adjustments needed to pull it out. Bellvue on the other hand did. when they realized they were getting man handled up front they started throwing the ball and were able to move it into FG position, which was enough to win this game. Why didn’t Union throw the ball downfield? they have this supposed D1 receiver and they threw one long ball all night (TD by the way). whats up with that? give Bellvue credit they did what they needed to win and thats why they are going to win another championship. Union blew their opportunity to win the gold ball. this was their chance and now its gone. A good run by the Vancouver all stars, but not good enough.

  6. ha! on November 27th, 2009 11:41 pm

When will the footage be put up? I want to see bellvue beat union

  7. SkyR#1fanCapCoug on November 27th, 2009 11:57 pm

Heads held up high Union fans…..really should be no shame in losing to Bellevue.

  8. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:04 am

there’s no shame in it but there is when you are as arrogant as union and say things like ‘we are going to crush them’ or ‘union seniors are HUNGRY’, really?

  9. Your Mom on November 28th, 2009 12:14 am

I wouldn’t trade the Titan players and the Titan fans for all the state championship trophies in Bellevue.

  10. suckitunion69 on November 28th, 2009 12:15 am

Bellevue downing union was inevitable. this either shows how good bellevue is or how bad union can be. probably the 2nd one.

  11. Knute on November 28th, 2009 12:15 am

Terrific season, boys! We are all very proud of U! Good teams find a way to win & Bellevue did just that. What an amazing difference from last year to this year, especially on D! You have treated us to some electric moments and all I can say is thanks for all the great memories.

  12. suckitunion69 on November 28th, 2009 12:16 am

I mean at least you didn’t lose by 29 points this time.

  13. The U on November 28th, 2009 12:17 am

If Union doesnt fumble 2 times in Bellevue’s red zone holding them both times to field goals …Its a different ball game….They may have won the score ,but not the game..everyone their saw Unions defense dismantle the wing “t”..I beleive the players and the coaching staff for Bellevue know’s who dominated that game, although, sometimes its better to be lucky than good.. The score decides it..Congrats to Bellevue and the best player on their team..The Kicker!

  14. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:20 am

how can you congratulate bellvue and then diss them with the last comment? that makes nooo sense.
seems to me like some union people are jealous and can’t admit that they lost to a good team…doesn’t surprise me though.

  15. U Fan on November 28th, 2009 12:23 am

Good job Union Titans, we are so proud of you! Thanks for the memories and best wishes to all our seniors, you guys ROCK!

  16. oopsipoopedmyself on November 28th, 2009 12:26 am

Good job union you guys did a heck of a job tonight

  17. The U on November 28th, 2009 12:31 am

No diss…The Kicker misses any of his kicks..All you got is a kick off return for a touchdown…The kicker for Bellevue was the best player for them..Union offense did score 2 Touchdowns and thats 2 more than Bellevue..Not many yards and no long runs for the almighty wing “t”..Bellevue didn’t beat Union…Union beat Union..

  18. okreallythistime on November 28th, 2009 12:31 am

Union, you did a good job tonight playing your best against probably the greatest football team this decade. keep your heads up. you’ll make it back to the dance soon enough

  19. Fan of the U on November 28th, 2009 12:39 am

Good Job Titans – especially the Defense. You showed a lot of heart tonight and all season. We are so proud of you.
The bitter haters and jealous weasels will pop off now-but ignore them. They are what they are-and deep down they know it.

Union is a great program and congratulations on another great season.

  20. Armchair QB on November 28th, 2009 12:39 am

Best moment of the game: Union kicker Jed Barnett booms a 50+ yd punt. Oops, Titan false start. Re-kick 5 yards back. Barnett goes vertical this time – ball hits the rafters and drops like a rock, bounces around near the line of scrimmage. What to do? Players act confused. Should we touch it? No whistles yet – so Barnett picks up the ball and starts running! The refs watch him get tackled after a big gain, signal first down Union! Titan fans elated!! But wait, head ref calls time, heads to sideline for a ruling. Re-kick AGAIN! Bellevue cheers (and wipes brow). Barnett takes a very high snap, controls the ball and booms one even farther than the first! High school football at its unpredictable best! Final score: Union offense 13, Bellevue offense 12. OK, I guess you have to count the special teams snafu – 7 more for Bellevue. Great job tonight defense!!

  21. big earl on November 28th, 2009 12:41 am

    The U,
you are saying your team beat themselves? what does that say about your team? some fan you are.

  22. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:42 am

ok first of all there aren’t any jealous haters because im already graduated and evergeen won the STATE numerous times. i have nothing to be jealous of. i just think union is arrogant. but in your case, everyone has to be jealous. because union is the best, what is there to not be jealous of?

  23. ha! on November 28th, 2009 1:02 am

stop being sore that union lost and get over yourself.

  24. Houston Spoiler on November 28th, 2009 1:03 am

There are 3 sides to the game, offense defense and special teams. Bellevue won special teams and it they won on offense as well because they moved the ball and scored points. Union didnt beat Union..Bellevue was better and Union played as expected. The blackout by Fans was weak and only fired up Bellevue more. Next time the dads, coaches, players and kids shouldnt give out so much bulletin board material. Union welcome to 4A. I wonder how many players dads drove home cussing the whole way saying how much better the mighty “U ” was.

  25. ha! on November 28th, 2009 1:05 am

hahaha you said it all Huston Spoiler.

  26. World Of Warcraft Fan on November 28th, 2009 1:10 am

Honestly, the wing T was shut down, that was bellevue offense held to 0 touchdowns. Union had 3 turnovers and too many penalties on too many promising drives that kept union shooting themselves in the foot. Union should have won everyone at that game knew it. Bellevue had 12 points in Field Goals and a Kick off return for a touchdown. Union had 2 touchdowns and you can’t turn the ball over this late into the playoffs and get away with it. Union kept themselves out of the game, bellevue did nothing to stop the offense except for 1 or 2 drives the rest were union shooting themselves in the foot. Bellevue couldn’t even score a touchdown so please, who dominated who in that game and who got lucky?

  27. What I saw on November 28th, 2009 2:00 am

Those that come on this site to put down the Union team or the fans have no game.
Union played with passion and heart. Things that impressed me (and I admit I am not a football expert, I just enjoy a good game) –
    1) Union Linebackers – great job stopping Bellevue’s strength
    2) DJ Mason – the guy looked like a beast tonight (the other DL must have been great too, but I saw Mason making Bellevue bodies fly)
    3) Union OLine – when Union ran between the hash marks they impressed me. Not with long runs – Bellevue had too many well coached, fast athletes to allow break away runs – but with hard fought, well executed, chew ‘em up and spit ‘em out yards.
    4) NEVER say die attitude – even when things did not go right late in the game, and some fans decided to get a jump on the long drive back to Vancover, the Titans came back and made it a game. If there is one thing I will remember about the 2009 Union Titans, it is the way they played to the end of the game, with more drive and focus when things looked hopeless to some.
Although I have no idea what was said in the team huddle after the game, as I watched from the stands, I got the feeling that the strongest emotion was that the 2009 Union Titans would not play another game together – and these guys wanted to keep playing as a team.

  28. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 2:40 am

Wing T got exposed, Houston spoiler…and you know it! 40 rushes for 124 yds? (3.1 yds per carry) That is not winning on offense. If you were part of the dozens of fans on the Bellevue side you would know this to be true. Bellevue HAD to go to the air, because their (weak) running attack was so pathetic against a solid Defense. Butch even said so. This is not the same Bellevue Offense as some of the great teams from the past. I think you will have a fight on your hands with Liberty.

Ha! you have made a complete ass of yourself here tonight. You may think Union fans are arrogant, but then you say something that can only be interpreted as the same arrogance when you state that Evergreen has won multiple State titles, so what should you be jealous of? (I think you mean envious, but your a simple minded dunce, so I wont split hairs) Is there any reason to believe that by showing support to a succesful program that should be considered arrogant? People (like you) say really dumb things that provoke the proud fans of an excellent group of player & coaches who have done nothing but represent this area with pride & class. You would be proud and supportive too if you had in any way ever been part of something so exceptional. Instead, the simple minded like to find holes & try to tear down the accomplishments of those who have acheived so much.

You have only proven yourself to be a stain on this website and on society as a whole. It’s people like you who try to bring everyone else down to your level. That’s a shame, but that’s what people like you do. The Union High School Football team and their fans refuse to be limited to yours & others level of incompetence and instead strive to rise above it and seperate themselves from the classless few. You will forever be limited in your ability to achieve anything noteworthy because you are too pre-occupied with tearing down those who have achieved. But, that’s okay because as my man Judge Smails once said ‘the world needs ditch-diggers too’

  29. meanmachine on November 28th, 2009 4:21 am

i dont understand why the Union supporters are cutting down Bellevue’s RB… Havent many of the same people who have posted above said that you should talk positively about individual players and not cut them down over the internet? Congratulate the Union defense, dont diminish the Bellevue individuals. Even if this website is for GSHL, what if they read it? I know this concept has come up before on here, im just wondering why Union says this, but then rags on Bellevue?

The game is the game. There is a reason a TD is 6 pts, an extra pt, a safety for 2 pts, and a 3 pt field goal. If a team gets 30 pts all on field goals, SO?? Im sure if Barnett drilled 10 field goals through the uprights, there would be no complaining that Bellevue should have won…

    Union people/fans are confusing….

  30. yoyo on November 28th, 2009 6:59 am

people around clark county should be rooting for union but thats not the case. All over this site Union talks trash, so most from other school dont respect them. And stop making excuses for losses, you lost and thats it. Bellevue is a better team.

  31. twoj on November 28th, 2009 8:13 am

its too bad union lost. really hoped they would take this one. but all i have to say is that from following multiple discussion boards and forums is that union fans/parents make extremely ignorant comments with little to no football analysis. they go on boards and claim union is the bee’s knee’s, and then when union loses they complain =(….childish. union fans, you sure do have some ego’s, and all you’ve done is built up a terrible reputation among all the boards. just look at the way skyview has done it all year, no talk, just the spread offense and solid d. like i said its too bad union had to go out, but football is football and a loss is a loss.

  32. Houston Spoiler on November 28th, 2009 8:48 am

Bellevue avgd 3 yards and change a carry, my math puts that almost at 10, a shade over 9. for 3 carries and if they go on 4th down thats a first. Bellevue may have not gashed Union running the ball, but they controlled the clock and still scored. 4 field goals meant Union needed to score two TD’s which still worked in Bellevues favor. The fact that Bellevue passed instead of ran shows the depth in their offense. Face it, Union got beat by the Wing T and now all the State championship shirts your coach made have to be sent to goodwill.

  33. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 9:08 am

Total Offense: Bellevue 164 Union 233…so which offense has more depth? Defensive battle – give credit where credit is due. Union played great on D. Bellevue made no mistakes, Union made about 5 or 6. Can’t do that against a really good team. Still, no offensive touchdowns for Bellevue, 2 for Union. Again, this was not the same wing T offense we saw last year – Liberty will find a way

  34. Uniontitans on November 28th, 2009 9:21 am

Camas fans why are you even talking crap I’m not gonna say we should have beat Bellevue but at least we made it there you didn’t even get close

  35. Victory on November 28th, 2009 9:23 am

The better team does not all ways win. If you where at this game, you would know this is a true statement. Union lost and the other team adds a number to their win stats. I do not know the future of either team and can not even guess what is ahead for Union. I do know that Union is the best all around team is the State this season.

  36. ha! on November 28th, 2009 9:36 am

ok all of you are making excuses!!! “who dominated who in the game?” i went to the camas game and camas dominated you guys from the 1st to the 3rd quarter. So who in that game dominated who? You guys are soo double standard that it makes me sick. That is why i dislike union so much!!!
Bellvue won Union lost. at the end of the game the scoreboard says it all.

  37. ha! on November 28th, 2009 9:39 am

and just sayin’ wow you brought tears to my eyes…..that was so in depth and well thought out. and no i really did mean jealous why don’t you read some posts ahead of mine i guess you are the dunce here.
you guys just can’t take a little of your own medicine. kinda sucks, doesn’t it?

  38. World Of Warcraft Fan on November 28th, 2009 9:49 am

It’s easy to dominate a team when they turn the ball over in thier own red zone 7 times (union Camas game). Please don’t say dominate, if you can’t capitolize on that and score a touchdown everytime with turnovers in the red zone you don’t dominate the line of scrimage or the goal line.

  39. ha! on November 28th, 2009 10:05 am

um world of warcraft defense causes fumbles so yes camas DID dominate Union the first three quarters. i don’t really care that much i don’t like camas much more than union but all of you union people are sayin that union dominated the game and bellvue got lucky, seems to me that they won by a touchdown. maybe you should stick to playing world of warcraft.

  40. football expert on November 28th, 2009 10:16 am

looking at the past rankings and the way the playoffs have gone, I would have to say Union is about number 6 in the state. Bellvue, Liberty, Lakes, Lindberg, Mt. Spokane, then Union about even with Camas. Union will lucky to make it past the first round next year in 4A, they graduate most of their starters and it will show up early in the playoffs. they will still be good enough to win in a weak league, but not at the state level. just the facts.

  41. gshl on November 28th, 2009 10:18 am

haha seriously, how many of the people who are saying crap about union actually even go bellevue? cause im pretty sure that more than half of you guys commenting are just from the schools here who LOST to union and couldnt wait for someone else to beat them cause you guys couldnt. are you happy now? yeah union lost but theres no doubt that they played great.

  42. twoj on November 28th, 2009 10:23 am

turnovers are a testament to another team’s defense. seems like bellevue played some damn good defense. looks like that fact is left out of all these union fans’ rants about how they should have have won bla bla blah. give credit to bellevue. bellevue also did extremely well on special teams, and sometimes when two great teams go up against each other, thats what it comes down to. looking back at the highlights, union played fantastic, just that KO return got them, and that was terrible coverage by union so no excuses there, dude was barely touched. great season union, come back strong, but in the end bellevue played a better complete football game, and came out with the W.

  43. World Of Warcraft Fan on November 28th, 2009 10:27 am

Really lets see how there defense did.. 3 pitches were dropped and a muffed punt. GREAT DEFENSE!! haha seriously though 7 turnovers in the redzone and you can only manage to muster up 31 points in the game. that’s bad. and we did dominate bellevue even there coach in the seattle times said they had to go to the air cause they were getting dominated upfont. Do your research.

  44. 8 man football fan on November 28th, 2009 10:28 am

After watching the tape on gslfootball.com, I think that Bellevue really was playing the clock alot-and that is smart. They had installed a Spread Formation for the year to help with playing Katy Tx and I think they picked the right year to do so with how well prepared Union was for the Wing-T. The spread worked when they needed too and when Union was close to getting back into the game that 9 minute + drive really slowed them down. After watching the kickoff formations and tendancies Bellevue specifically had a plan on the kickoff return and it worked.
The last offensive series for Union Bellevue is playing prevent and no where close to their normal defensive scheme. By the looks of it they didn’t mind giving up a touchdown they just didn’t want to give up a big play to your great wide recievers. Up until 6 minutes left Bellevue only gave up 6 points playing their defense.
As someone that isn’t a fan of either team but has seen them play alot I don’t think either team “dominated”. Union did a great job shutting down the wing-t but couldn’t keep Bellevue off the scoreboard. You can’t discredit the kick return because in all the articles and even watching the tape of the game you can see a formulated play.
Great job Union and great job Bellevue. Hope Union continues to improve.

Is Union really going to 4a btw?

  45. Storm Fan on November 28th, 2009 10:28 am

    go STORM!!!

  46. World Of Warcraft Fan on November 28th, 2009 10:31 am

Also in the turnovers against bellevue, bellevue never caused any fumbles. The quarterback was falling and couldn’t get the ball up to the running back then bellevue recovered. I see no defense forced fumble. Also the quarterback pitched the ball off the wrong running back to give another turn over. There was no defensive forced fumble, and even in the seattle times the linebacker for bellevue said we had to capitolize on their mistakes talking about the 2 fumbles. So please bellevue caused turnovers? no.

  47. middle line backer on November 28th, 2009 10:41 am

for your information, unforced turnovers are not the sign of a good football team. union fans just continue to dig the hole deeper. your idiotic excuses are making you look like poor sport cry babies. you lost, get over it.

  48. ha! on November 28th, 2009 10:45 am

are you really going to argue about the camas/union game with me? I DON’T CARE. I DONT CARE ABOUT CAMAS I DON’T CARE ABOUT UNION. In this case maybe defense didn’t cause them but camas vs union why don’t you watch the highlights. a few might have been union’s own fault but camas’ defense was playing pretty bad ass that night. but again i don’t really care so stop arguing about that game. hasn’t it been over for like a month??
Then that is saying union sucks if they caused their own turnovers and deserved to lose. i would rather have the defense make me turn it over than look like a fool fumbling it.
stop whining union fans, you lost. shoulda coulda woulda….you didn’t win so stop being in denial. I wished you guys good luck maybe your first year and gave you credit to your good competition. Now, reading all the crap you guys talk i am hoping you do terrible next year. Go evergreen!!!
    My vote is for Skyview.

  49. 8 man football fan on November 28th, 2009 10:52 am

when you “turn the ball over on downs” thats a turnover. Bellevue’s defense caused one of those…

just letting you now world of warcraft fan. They at least deserve credit for that.

  50. twoj on November 28th, 2009 10:52 am

my point was that bellevue played great d and that no one was giving them credit, turnovers are turnovers no matter how they are caused. maybe nerves got to the union qb, but bellevue made fewer mistakes and played a better complete game then union and won. go skyview this afternoon.

  51. Fan of the U on November 28th, 2009 11:24 am

Ha- go away you troll. If you don’t care about Union-get off their blog site. You need a life son, posting every couple of hours. Don’t you need to put your paper hat on and get to Taco Bell for your shift?

  52. Knute on November 28th, 2009 11:24 am

Some people should do less talking & more listening. Some people who didn’t have a dog in this fight should understand that their opinion are less meaningful to those who did. Some people should understand that they don’t know as much about this game as they think they do, because they weren’t even there and have only seen a few clips. Some people have no business on here, yet insist on making fools of themselves. Those who yell the loudest are taken the least serisouly…most people know this

  53. titan fan on November 28th, 2009 11:24 am

Don’t argue with Ha, he is a worthless GED Evergreen grad who plays on the computer on a Friday night instead of going out with friends. LOL. What a loser. Who cares if you hate Union and Camas, which by the way punched your Plainsmen in the mouth this year and last year. Would love to see your big tough guy attitude in a face to face conversation with DJ Mason, Taylor Nelson or one of the bigs from Camas. Wouldn’t happen, just run your mouth on your keyboard. What a loser.

  54. ha! on November 28th, 2009 11:30 am

ha! you guys are hilarious. you have to attack me personally instead of seeing that you guys lost! im sorry if im pointing out your faults. hate when that happens, huh? attack me all you want because you know nothing of my life so i could really care less what you say. and isn’t this GED nonesense one of your specialties? i think you’ve posted it on every blog you write on…
    good one!
im not here to attack people personally, you guys lost thats all there is to it. so be sore losers and act like you didn’t. so since bellvue didn’t win in offense and defense i guess we will be seeing the titans play liberty next week?! good luck guys! LOL.

  55. Ppower on November 28th, 2009 11:54 am

i see from alot of union people talking about people with GEDS and working at
Taco bell? how classy is that? shows even more how alot of people from union are… complete idiots…. don’t make fun of us cause we dont live in $600,000 houses with our rich parents and dont have to work for anything…. really offended by all of that… real classy

union lost game over, see you in 4A next year….

  56. titans on November 28th, 2009 12:06 pm

Ppower i agree it wasnt the best thing to say from whoever said that but you say your offended then you tell people that go to union dont work for anything and are rich it doesnt seem like your much more classy then anyone else. Just saying.

  57. U Parents on November 28th, 2009 12:08 pm

It’s always funny to see people that come in here making untrue accusations about Union players and fans, and are for some reason surprised that we don’t just sit back and take it. And then attack us for defending our team, our boys, and ourselves. Our family has been part of Union from the beginning, and we have had a lot of fun. We are not wealthy, and our son is an outstanding player who is one of the most humble kids in the league. I see people on here taking shots at people I know very well, and it’s absolute garbage. These are kids playing a sport they are passionate about. The “haters’ on here obviously did not, or I don’t believe they would attack a successful program like they do. Union kids and parents are a class act, and our family will remember this time for the rest of our lives. If you just want to revel in the fact that Union lost in a semi-final game, go make yourselves feel better. I don’t see excuses on here, I see fans lamenting in what could have been – pretty common reaction for the day after.

For Ha- Evergreen won the State Championship in 2004, not several times. And the word is “nonsense.”

  58. Union Dad on November 28th, 2009 12:12 pm

WOW ha, how long have you been waiting to unload all this?
No shame in how the game went, it was a great TEAM season. Although it has been a great ride watching our seniors play, folks have forgotten, A TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS, A TEAM wins games, there has been of course the seniors but the Union Titans have Juniors and Sophomores that contribute every day to the wins and preparations, and loses of the 2009 Titans.
Now the torch has been passed, I wish our phenomenal Class of Seniors all the best, thanks for great memories, but folks need to understand, this is not the end of the Titans, this is just the beginning…
    Great season boy’s

I haven’t been waiting i thought i would take this oppurtunity to show union how arrogant they are. but your famous statement in all the blogs…now you get to say it!! NEXT YEAR, NEXT YEAR, NEXT YEAR BOYS!
I never said the titans should be ashamed of how the game went im just saying that union needs to cool down and stop thinking they are the shi*. because when it comes down to it, they can beat all the easy teams but have a hell of a tough time overcoming decent teams. That isn’t great to me….that equals union has an easy run to semifinals. and while they can be proud of it, as i said, they face a good team and they fall apart.

  60. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:26 pm

and u parents wow let’s correct a type-o. you people are AMAZING. does it matter when we won? we still won!! and against good teams to make it to the finals not the crappy teams union played….

i never said you can’t defend yourselves. go ahead i don’t care. and im not a “hater” which seems to be all of unions’ favorite choice of words. I am simply showing the truth and you guys don’t like it….I’m Sorry!!!!

  67. Knute on November 28th, 2009 12:39 pm

Union beat a pretty damn good Skyview team this season & yeah we had a good time laying the wood to some pretty bad teams too. One of them was your old school. Now how about you settle down, you are way over the top and Union doesn’t deserve this kind of disrespect.

  68. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:41 pm

you earn respect and union both fans, parents, and players haven’t showed other schools any respect. ok, you beat evergreen good for you. we aren’t as good as we used to be but at least we are respectful and humble, union just isn’t. a lot of people don’t like you because of your arrogance. and knute if you don’t believe me why don’t you go read over all your old posts??

  70. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:42 pm

i hope Union and Camas do terrible next year. Both your schools are filled with arrogant a-holes. and while you play good football sometimes, that doesn’t make either of your schools good teams.

  71. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:44 pm

Ok fan of the u, cool. i was boasting. i didn’t think you guys were going to go effin google it. it was just to make a point. but if that’s all you have, keep pointing it out.

  72. Knute on November 28th, 2009 12:50 pm

I stand by all my statements on here. I’m an adult and I do not disrespect kids, you on the other hand are a child and you are behaving like it. Time to step off your soap box. You don’t like Union…got it. Bad idea to rip them like you are, this idea of Union being poor sports is all your head. The program is first rate, the fans are too. You, however clearly are not.

  73. Heritage Alumni on November 28th, 2009 12:51 pm

Sucks unions season ends like this… but the main thing is the union players have grown as a family… they learned life lessons by playing on this team…. btw i graduated last year and “hated” many players from other schools…. but guess what…. when the freedom bowl classic rolled around i met players from union, evergreen, mt view, camas, ra long, hockinson… and we got along great… we actually became good friends… It think the most important is the lessons for life, nothing can take that away…. not even a loss in the semi’s…. trust me… a heritage player that always lost in the first round of the playoffs it was frustrating, really frustrating because we would be so dialed and ready and the offense or defense just would not show up to play… or some fluke kickoff return. But the main thing is the chemistry with the other players we were like a family….

  74. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 12:54 pm

Overstating your accomplishment? Hmm…sounds like what you are accusing Union of doing. Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable, just pointing out the facts…you know, like you do.

  75. ha! on November 28th, 2009 12:54 pm

no i don’t think so. because i am pointing it out, that makes me a poor sport?
knute youa re an adult?! from the posts you have put i thought you are a freshman or something, whoa!
i love how the truth makes me a poor sport or on a ‘soap box’. no i don’t only not like union but camas and columbia river too. seems like all the schools’ fans and players are the same- arrogant, rich, and foolish. so don’t feel left out…

  76. Houston Spoiler on November 28th, 2009 1:00 pm

Union fans remember…YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. Your team didnt do that. You can win in every aspect of the game and be the better team in your mind, but you left the dome in tears because YOU DIDNT PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. Some would say you choked. Bellevue controlled the clock and swiss cheesed your pass D. Your small empahisis on kickoff coverage all season because of the love affair with your kickers leg and the belief nobody returns on him was shown to be a fatal flaw. So next year when we talk about PLAYOFFS..PLAYOFFS yeah PLAYOFFS you wont even be mentioned.

  77. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 1:02 pm

Boils down to class envy then, that’s too bad. Not much would ever get done in this world if there wasn’t people out there working hard to accomplish things. You can sit back & cry about how you have never done anything of note, but the rest of us will continue to live our lives in the manner that we have chosen – productive & succesful, maybe you should give it a try.

  79. ha! on November 28th, 2009 1:05 pm

you beat two good teams and you say you have a good team? two teams……????
and i wouldn’t call camas a good team, they haven’t made it past the first round in like…hmmmm ever. so camas doesn’t count really, they kinda suck.

  80. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 1:06 pm

Bellevue 3-7 45 yds (real swiss cheese there) Union 12-14 139 yds. 1 TD. You, sir are an idiot!

  82. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 1:14 pm

  83. 12345 on November 28th, 2009 1:15 pm

Um…Camas lost to a championship caliber team. It took a semi-finalist and championship team to beat Camas. As a Bellevue fan, I’d say they’re still a good team.

As for yesterdays game, Union’s defense was outstanding and their players were just fantastic. One of the classiest teams I think Bellevue has faced all year. I remember in the beginning of the game when Joe Joe (our qb) went down, there were three or four Union players around trying to see if he was alright and they would always be there helping other players up after a tackle. Showing of a well coached disciplined team. The game really could have gone either way, it’s fortunate we capitalized on turnovers, got fgs, and the kickoff return. All part of the game, if it wasn’t why would we even have it. Union is still a great team in my book. Nothing to be ashamed of Union. Go get em next year in 4A I’ll be rooting for you guys.

  84. ha! on November 28th, 2009 1:15 pm

It’s all right there, genius…take your time, ask for more help if necessary. Perhaps one of my comments wasn’t directed at you…wow! is it possible that the day after a semi-final game there could be multiple topics and not everything is about you? Try to keep up, actually… don’t, we have heard enough out of you.

  86. gshlfan101 on November 28th, 2009 1:24 pm

  87. ha! on November 28th, 2009 1:28 pm

doesn’t matter who it was directed at- that was so off topic. try to make yourself look smart though. and why aren’t there more union people on here? perhaps because they know they sucked up the game.

  88. Houston Spoiler on November 28th, 2009 1:32 pm

The jollies of watching your son play are over. Now spend more time paying attention to your wife and less time fingering the keyboard.

  89. greater saint on November 28th, 2009 1:40 pm

i would have to disagree with that statement that camas sucks..

yes it is true that camas has never made it out of the first round but there always at the top of the league at 1st or 2nd…. there obviously not an amazing football team but they are damn good

and the league wasnt always weak CR and fort used to be pretty good and washougal would have a good season here and there but camas remained at the top of the league

then they have had a list of good players

    rick copsey
    scott hagenson
    devin grindy
    tom ramirez
    justin bacon
    Greg beasley
    quinton beasley
    guy varsick

TITANS do not hang your head!!!!!!!!!

  91. ha! on November 28th, 2009 1:44 pm

every team is going to have good players but that doesn’t mean the team is good. if they were damn good they would make it past the first round. and yes they were good players but justin bacon is dead (no disrespect intended), greg effed up his scholarship and guy doesn’t play in college. i don’t thnk quinton does either but im not sure.

  92. Just Sayin' on November 28th, 2009 1:50 pm

3 completions? 4 incomplete, by the way. Not quite an aerial assault. Face it, the wing T was exposed. Union kept the #2 rated offense in 3A out of the end zone. Give credit where it is due, and maybe you should take your own advice about defending anything Bellevue does. Your offense was anemic, our offense drove the field but made too many mistakes. One special team play was the difference in this game. Yeah, it’s a bitter pill to swallow because the U really missed out on an opportunity. But, as I stated earlier; you can’t make mistakes against a good team. Bellevue found a way to win, they move on & Union goes home. That’s my final statement. Just Sayin’ signing off

greater saint. Brent Richards plays soccer for UW not football. Guy is playing basketball(poor choice by him). QBeasly is going to play soccer at UW. The only one out of this group to actually play more then 1 season of college fb is Copsey who was at Western Wash and now at a Montana school I believe. That boy is pretty dang good.

Bellevue fans, that was a great game. Yes, we beat you statistically, but not in the most important part of the game, scoreboard. Your kids work hard along with all the kids in hs football around the state. Congrats to all kids who play this great game. Camas will be tough to beat next year and will give Bellevue a big run for that state title (if Camas is in 3A still). 4A gshl will be tough too. Hopefully the Titans come out on top.

  97. 2010 Here We GO on November 28th, 2009 2:54 pm

With SW Washington’s hopes left with Skyview, who is currently down to Ferris, I think one thing has been proven this season, our area can compete with the rest of the state at all levels!! Unions D this year might have been the best in the state; Skyview is in the top 10 as well. Pending the outcome of the Skyview/Ferris game, this was an exciting year for all.

With the reclassifications coming up in the next few weeks, it looks like Union will be moving into the 4A and Camas still up in the air. Should Camas come up, (Heritage, Union, Camas, Skyview, Evergreen, and Battle Ground) the GSHL 4A might be the toughest league in the State or at least an extremely close 2nd to the Kingco.

All that being said, who is the Favorite? Union graduates a ton and be honest, the lower levels have not played very well. Skyview returns some big names but loses some key positions. Heritage loses the best athlete in the area but returns their o-line and a freshman RB that may be the best in the area next year and the best in the state by his senior year. Camas looks to be in the best position returning several important positions and a Sr QB hungry after disappointing finishes the last 2 years. Evergreen is young as well!

What a year 2010 could be!!!!

  98. Eowyn on November 28th, 2009 3:05 pm

Well, a bit much idiocy on here today, much more than usual. Too bad, it’s very distracting.
Well, I know I was in the minority for Titan fans when I said weeks ago that it was not likely we could beat Bellevue. And I really hate that I was right. I was watching the Blazers be crucified by the Grizzlies (WHAT!?!), so had to listen to the game off and on. I was very encouraged with the first half and extremely impressed with Union’s ability to keep Bellevue out of the endzone. I thought they had a chance until the kickoff return. Damn shame there. I think that if the special teams hadn’t let that one through, Union would have done it. But what’s the use in speculating? Bellevue deserves credit, they WON after all. It wasn’t just luck, or Union’s lack of discipline. They are and have been an incredible football club. Union also deserves credit. Their defense absolutely shut down Bellevue’s regular game. And it’s a valid point that the U had two TDs, while Bellevue had to settle for field goals. But yeah, if Union had won via Jed Barnett’s foot, we would not have discounted it, so we shouldn’t minimize Bellevue’s win.
Union will be 4A next year, so any predictions are ridiculous at this point. And yeah, we are losing a lot of really experienced players. But please, don’t count us out yet!
I for one am very proud to be associated with Union High School and am proud to support our Titans, in as many areas as possible. Hope Skyview wins today!

  99. ha! on November 28th, 2009 3:34 pm

well what to say congrats to bellvue for an incredible game it is the way a good game should end close in score no a blowout. our defense was steller our offense wasn’t clicking i feel on all cylinders it was sad it would have been nice to finish on top. so we finish in the top four we have nothing to be ashamed about it was a hard fought game and these men played there hearts out. as for turnovers it happens in football it’s the ugly part of the game that every team that goes on the field hopes that they are the team that doesn’t commit them the most. the only way to explain it is IT’S THE UGLY PART OF THE GAME!!!!!!. so next year we wii all gather bundeled up drinking warm drinks gathered around tailgates rooting for our men as they go into battle.in finishing the reason i call these guys men because they are now men they have gone through the most important lesson that every boy that plays a sport will learn ( it’s not wether you win or lose it’s how you play the game, and that you left it all out on the battle field, and at the end of the day you know that you gave it all you had.

well men i’m verry proud of you and the coaches and staff at the next level should be honored and fortunet to know you i know that i am. good luck and job well done.

Union fans — you have been saying not to disrespect the players of Union, and it really shows no class, but with the post about the 3A all league teams, you were trying to TEAR UP Logan Grindy, just because your beloved Nate P didnt get the spot he wanted. some Unions fans should really try to see that the ignorance you give off is the reason hardly any people like you.

AND, Union was ripping on Camas earlier this month because they werent a good football team because they hadn’t won a game against a team over .500.. well its pretty ironic that we lost to Union (top 4), and Liberty (top 2). Camas was a really great football team this year, but were unfortunate to get a draw that had them play a championship team before the playoffs even started.

and ha, can you give one example of when Camas fans have been “a-holes”? Like most people i know from Camas, im just giving up the facts.

Great Game Titans…I Think the refs do needed shock collars for everytime the play clock reads 0. They let Bellevue continue several times and one was for a first down that sustained their drive on a 3rd and long. They would have been backed up and punting instead of coming away with 3 points..Nice defense for sure…All the Titans should be proud..Great year and sometimes in this sport the best team loses which I feel strongly happened..But,your all still winners and its has been awesome to watch you play for the last couple years..Can’t wait till next year..

Anyone that understands sports knows that it goes in cycles and whomever is the best in this cycle is going to be called every name in the book. Its jealousy. So Union fans lets enjoy this ride while it lasts and remember not to be jealous of the next cycle when it happens. Great game Bellevue. I will take being only beaten by one team, a damn good one at that, in the state of Washington the last two years.

I believe the fresman running back from heritage’s name is something like karnel vernon or something. ive gone to some jv games for heritage (well just the one against C.river) and that kid is a stud for being like 5’0”. he returned 2 kicks for touchdowns and was unstoppable as a HB. the league better watch out for him next year.

stop it. just everyone stop. everyone on here schould just shut up. if you dont have anything better to do then bash a bunch of teens workin their asses of on the gridiron then you are pathetic.

true union fans- i thank you for all the support over these past years. you stood by our side in wins and losses and you are some of the best fans in the state.

other union fans- i love ya, but you guys make our entire school look bad when you get on here and say some of the stuff you do. we lost, we left it all on the field, they made one more play then we could and thats sometimes what it takes to win. we just couldnt finih another great comeback.

everyone else- (ha, tell it how, meanmachine, bellevue etc etc).. you guys are some of the sickest individuas with a keyboard. you sit back and just pray that someone beats us, because you cant and havent since we were in 10th grade and had no seniors. yes, some of our fans come off arrogant and pompus and all that other stuff, but you are just as proud of your schools and you talked just as much smack talk with the threads leading up to the games of union and your respective schools. (p.s dont base your hate for my school and team off of a few ppl on here, because everyone ould do that for evey school)

i have a strange feelin that if your team hasnt lost to a clark county opponent since 07 that you would be a little boastful too.

and the biggest thing that really just pisses me off, is that everyone is so stuck on this recruiting thing!! get over yourselves. 1. piland and his staff have bettert hings to do than to ask teens to come play ball. 2. they have the sufficient athletes to be successful without that crap. 3. if anyone is doing it, its current players tryin to get there friends to come play ball with them, which happens everywhere. 4. people follow success and so the encourages transfers to come over on own free will. 5. the most important fact, transfers have to go in front of a board of parents and plead there case in order to play varstiy sports… so if it is a case of just sports, the board declines… (a good number of titans to be got declined in court… ironic??)
friday night i strapped up with my brothers, some of these guys i have beeen playin with for nine years.. and we played our hearts out. every one of those seniors are forever a special place in eachothers hearts. and you selfish, self righteous, snobbish, envy filled bastards try and take that away from one of the hardest workin 16,17 and 18 year olds to have played the game down in the SW for many years.

week after week we see almost every person just beggin someone to beat us… and finally it happened. so i hope you all sleep better these next months knowing that union didnt win state again, but has lost to the state champ 2 years running.. more than any of you could say.

yes we lost. im not making excuses. they made a big play and we didnt make it when it counted. but regardless i had the best 3 years of my life under the greatest coaches and the greatest brothers/ team mates, and the greatest fans anybody could ask for.

thank you for it all titan family

I was also at this game watching a friends Son play defense for Heritage but also noticed the Heritage QB light up CR for 36 first half points as well Pale. Didn’t get his name but he looks capable of stepping in for Grayson. Next year should be interesting with many teams returning key players or positions at the 4A level but EVERY team will start a new QB for their varsity program. Makes for a fun and exciting season next year for GSHL 4A. Btw, the RB’s name is Carnell Vernom and he is a dynamite player from what little I saw of him.

Titans – great game, great season, and great program. We have been to every varsity football game in the history of this school, and what a joy it has been. You took a program that didn’t exist and created something special. It’s not just about the wins. It about the success you started for your school and for yourselves. Having been closely associated with many of you and your familes, I have a good idea that the future on and off the field is very bright for you young men. Ignore the garbage talkers- anybody who has seen you play knows the truth. Don’t pay any mind to the critics- their spite only highlights their ignorance and lack of character.
Thanks for 3 special years as we are graduating our football player this spring. We will still be in the stands rooting for our friends and the great underclassmen who are returning.

The only truth that is evident about Union is they are very athletic and a pretty good team, except when ever they get on the big stage they are drastically held back by an extremely bad quarterback. With out a somewhat competent quarterback Union has a slim chance of winning against good teams.

  125. Knute on November 29th, 2009 12:36 pm

Of all the awul comments on here by some pretty questionable characters, the one above is by far the most disgraceful. It’s high school football, dude. It aint the pro’s. How do you rationalize your comments about a 18 year old kid? Hope you feel real good about yourself.

  126. Houston Spoiler on November 29th, 2009 12:39 pm

Are you speaking of the first team QB for your GSHl that people compared to the Division 1 recruit Grayson and even Heaps saying they were winners and he had the talent to play on television saturdays. Union fans I have learned the last two years how out of it you are. Your team was a two year wonder because of shady politics in your community and school administration that handed you everything to be successful. Your time is up and I look forward to seeing our beloved Bellevue Bpys playing real competition from your area in the future.

Bryan – it’s time to close down the comments thread, or at least attach some accountability to the posters. To allow the anonymous slander of kids who are just playing a sport they love, by parasites who hide behind a lack of any accountability for the things they post in a public forum, cannot continue any longer. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I find humor in some of the good natured smack talking that goes on, to let the vermin take shots and try to publicly embarass these athletes is irresponsible on your part. I know you need the hits to pay the bills, but it would be more decent if you charged a subscription fee or made posters register in some form. You are putting yourself in jeapordy by negligently maintainin a forum where posters can make false and defamatory statements about students who have done nothing but compete in an athletic sport.

  128. Fan of the U on November 29th, 2009 1:00 pm

It cuts both ways to have your kids showcased like this. But since this is basically the only site of this type in the Northwest, you are in some ways hurting the very athletes you are trying to showcase. Our son is a very talented football player, and you and I have spoken recently, and I know two things for certain. The varsity players at Union do read the postings on this site, and they do not participate in posting comments on here. The things they read about themselves and their friends can be very damaging. The postings seem to be attempts to be more and more provocative, without regard for the truth or what the impact might be to the innocent person being named or described. You can expect a civil subpoena for either e-mail or URL addresses of one of your posters if this continues. This is just my prediction, but I think it is thoughful and accurate.

Before the thread gets pulled, which I agree is the proper thing to do. I can’t help but be saddened by the fact that as I stated earlier. The simpled minded few try to bring the many down to their levels. This is clearly the case here. We are losing a terrific avenue for expression because of the irresponsible simple minded few. These are the same people who vandalize our cars at night, drink & drive and make our streets unsafe. They win again…Just Sayin’

  130. Wing-T on November 29th, 2009 3:00 pm

What do you find so disgraceful about my comment? The fact is Union is a good team, but when they go into the late stages of the playoffs, their quarterback held the entire team back by giving Bellevue completely unforced turnovers in the case of the recent game and throwing picks in the 2008 game. You people are aware that Brandon Weller tied the single game interception record and if all the fumbles were lost in the recent game would have tied the TEAM record for fumbles lost in a game. Plus whether you like it or not, high school football has already taken on many of the attributes of the pro and college levels, I mean they even interview the players for the radio broadcasts. Although you are right about my comment being a bit generalized, it is the truth that the quarterback was a massive hindrance in both of Union’s losses to Bellevue.

  131. Titans on November 29th, 2009 3:15 pm

I think its funny how evergreen started running the wing-T they will never be as athletic as bellevue is and will never run it to that level.

  132. DCGardner on November 29th, 2009 3:17 pm

    The man speaks the truth.

Weller could have atleast not dropped the ball while he was in the redzone. I mean he even dropped it on a fake pass… If he would of held on to that who knows, maybe he would have caught Saylor wide open and we would be discussing Liberty right now.

If we would have stopped VanA from taking it to the house we would have won it too. I think they need to have practices just focusing on holding onto the ball or something because he may not have been the direct cause, but he did not help his team at all with those mistakes.

  133. Wing-T on November 29th, 2009 3:45 pm

-Fan of the U (Mr/Ms Weller I assume) I feel as if you are misinterpreting by comments on this site as some sort of personal attack. Far from it, I find no personal joy or gratification in the struggles of an athlete who is having a tough time on the playing field, especially by someone who obviously cares about their sport. The frustration of playing a tough game was clearly present after some mistakes were made. I also was simply relaying an opinion that I felt was not being presented by anyone else when discussing Union’s struggles against Bellevue. In addition to this, do not mistake my comment as saying that the quarterback for Union has no talent, for struggles against a particular opponent are not an indication of talent. Nor am I suggesting he is the only reason for the loses against Bellevue, only 1 part of the problem albeit a pretty big one. However, I would ask for some composure when talking about sports, for my comment was merely my interpretation of events and although you say that my comments were not truthful and defamatory in nature, I was only interpreting the stats of the game and unless you feel that the game did not happen as its been reported ( I was at the game) I apologize for misreading the stat line. If Union’s quarterback is indeed going to be playing major college football on Saturday’s as has been suggested on this site, an interpretation of performance is an all to present part of that particular world.

  134. Wing-T on November 29th, 2009 3:47 pm

Oh, and if you are looking for an example of an unjustified and untruthful defamatory attack, just look at Just Sayin’s comment at number 128

  135. Fan of the U on November 29th, 2009 4:34 pm

Wing T-we aren’t the Wellers, but you won’t find a finer family associated with football. And your comments are not what I take issue with. At least you are expressing your opinion (I disagree with it but that’s fine) and at least you are talking about football.
My concerns are directed at the slanderous comments that have been hurled at Union since the inception of this web-site. I have read comments about the coaches, players, and parents that are absolute lies. For example, it has become an urban legend that Union recruits players. I know almost every senior on the 2009 team and I know for a fact that they were not recruited. I also know that they don’t have players living outside the Union boundary. I am aware of 3-4 players that use the address of one parent living inside the boundary as opposed to their other parent who doesn’t. And I know of one player who get a boundary exception because his father is a coach. All condoned by the district and perfectly within WIAA rules. But yet, people continually falsely make this accusation. This is just one example- I could go on but I think you get my point. Comments and opinions are fine, but you can’t say whatever you want in a public forum with no accountability just because you blog under a screen name. All speech is not protected, and people have no expectation of privacy when posting in cyber-space. It would be very simple to file an action against GSHLFOOTBALL.COM and subpoena user records. The IP address of every blogger would be available in that information, and would identify the home of that computer or network. If you have contacts at comcast or in law enforcement, you could have the info in a couple days. When you slander and defame people, it’s not necessarily safe just because your user name is fictitious. For a couple hundred bucks they could easily have your home address, or at least the address where your computer is. If a parent at Lincoln High School is willing to hire a PI to follow a basketball coach and set him up for a DUI, do you not think a parent would track down someone who is attacking their kid? You can take shots at me all you want. But if you mess with my kids you had better look out.

  136. Fan of the U on November 29th, 2009 5:02 pm

I’m not implying a threat- it’s just a reality that I don’t think some people think about. Many of the antagonist’s on here are obviously kids, and I would venture to speculate that they aren’t athletes. The internet feels safe and anonymous, and therefore people feel like they can say whatever they want. The truth is that you leave footprints wherever you go on the internet, and it’s not that difficult to follow the trail. You shouldn’t be posting lies or stating as absolutes things that are not true. If you do it could come back to haunt you. If this web-site is the conduit for that behavior without taking reasonable steps to protect individuals, they could find themselves having legal problems as well. It’s just a truth about our times.

  137. Knute on November 29th, 2009 5:19 pm

I still find the original comments made by wing T as absolutely disgraceful and the rationalization that followed was too painful to read. Why is it necessary to publicly call out a kid and humiliate them? Do you have no filters? Or common sense? Are you just THAT competitive that winning the game isn’t satisfying enough?

This site has been pretty good about this, there has been some discussion of certain players. But, for the most part they have always been positive. Or, in the co-mvp debate every comment I read started with ‘Grindy is a really good QB…’ in that case you had people who had an opinion, but were still respectful of the KID!

I have not seen a direct attempt to humiliate a particular player until wing T. Why was this necessary? Don’t you think he feels bad enough? Why you gotta pile on? The kid played his guts out, that’s all anyone can ask.

This just seems so basic & elementary, and I can’t believe this needs to be explained to anyone.

  138. DCGardner on November 29th, 2009 7:11 pm

  140. twoj on November 30th, 2009 12:56 am

just sayin’- yeah they really do only apply to union. like i said i’ve seen you guys on all the boards….your guys’ comments are hippocritical, classless, and don’t include very much real football talk. if you haven’t noticed, everyone on every board hates union fans and what you guys say on them. you keep trying to defend yourself and make yourself and union look like the victim but you and all the other union posters do it to themselves. its just my opinion from what i’ve seen on this site plus seattle times forums. maybe some of it was just playful smack talk but a lot of people don’t like you guys, just sayin.

  141. Knute on November 30th, 2009 1:10 am

‘i didn’t see anyone type at how the kid was a terrible player’ – listen, kid…this statement only proves that you are too busy talking and not listening. Wing T called the kid out BY NAME and made overly & unnecessary harsh comments about how he played. I’d tell you to back & read it, but then that would just be reiterating his innapropriate posts.

Your posts are meaningless, your just on here because you see an opportunity to criticize someone else, no one really cares what you think. But, Wing T made it personal & unnecesarily so. I’d encourage both of you to read what ‘player’ had to say about people like you & the other jokers on here. Wonder if y’all would talk so tough directly to him?

This is what Fan of the U means when he pointed out the anonimity of this board only allows for people with NO discretion to make innapropriate (wing T) & innacurate comments. Then Union tries to set the record straight, then everyone wets their pants because Union is cocky, and boisterous and has no class…blah, blah, blah

I heard Evergreen is trying to steal that freshman RB away from Heritage – Coach says his system is a better fit for his skills. (see how easy it is to make something up and have no accountability?) Happens all the time on this board. Remember the mysterious red jerseys??? Every post from Meanmachine is completely contrived and based on some alternate form of reality. Anyone can say anything on here, what could possibly go wrong??!!

Wing T, no credible person on here said anything about our QB playing on Saturdays next year. That came from one of the jokers, who made up some claim he says he heard from Union fans. So, you need to remove that part of your defense that he should be held to some higher standard and thus should expect ridiculously harsh public criticism.

His body of work speaks for itself: 3 year starter 30-6, 2 trips to the Dome. Proven leader, tough as nails, high completion percentage, instinctive scrambler and the only QB any of us Union fans have ever known.

  142. Bellevue Beeleever on November 30th, 2009 8:26 am

Union put up one heck of a fight, not in the game though. There biggest fight was the parents trying to get the best seat and arguing with one another. Our boys played maybe at 70% effort and we still coasted to victory. If thats the best your team got, you would never survive the KINGCO.

  143. gshlfan101 on November 30th, 2009 10:11 am

to the union parents and fans you would not be mad and wanting this sight to shut down the commenting if union had won. you are just mad and frusterated that you lost and if the union kids are really upset about some nerdy guys (who have probably never even set foot on a varsity field friday night), are saying about them, then your kid needs to grow up a bit and get a little tougher and maybe the reason that is, is that all you baby your kids so much and tell them thet they are the best everyday..
grow up.. and i doubt the union players really care that much
its you the parents that need to grow some balls
wake up and be happy union made it as far as they did and dont whine when somebody bashes your kid it’s all part of the hype and fun that makes high school football so big in this country

  146. PopPrep on November 30th, 2009 10:56 am

Bellevue Beeleever, your football team didn’t put any points on the board on offense.

And looking at your roster, I don’t think your team is getting any better to be quite frank. I have seen your team and you are going to have GAPING HOLES next year. Same thing for the Titans. I think next year you are going to be seeing more shifts in the food chain than usual.

And then there is this whole Union going to 4A (highly possible because I think this is the year they are doing the re-evaluation). And there is the possiblity for Camas to go 4A too. That would make the GSHL quite the beast in 4A.

  147. Bellevue Beeleever on November 30th, 2009 1:27 pm

Thanks for the memo Pop Prep that the offense didnt put any points on the board, but our special teams sure did, and that my friend is why we are better. We actually dominated.

  148. Fan of the U on November 30th, 2009 1:56 pm

Bellevue Beelever- neither team dominated that game. It was a great contest that Bellevue won on a big play on special teams. Union had more yardage, Bellevue had more time of possession. Union turned the ball over and Bellevue did not. To say either team dominated is just not accurate.
gshl fan- our parents have plenty of balls. We get tired of others who don’t taking unwarranted shots at our kids and their team. If you really have such great balls- let me tell you where I will be tomorrow at noon and we can have any discussion you like in person.

Can you guys meet at the Union high school bike rack?

  150. greater saint on November 30th, 2009 2:11 pm

ok so we all agree that bellevue won special teams and both were pretty even on defense and union won offense seeing that thay had more total yerds does everyone agree with that?

ok so now we just need to compare the amount of yards bellevue had on special teams and the total yards union had on offense and that is a good way to show you really “dominated”

i personally dont think either team dominated because my definition of domination is dominating the ball in every which way which includes O D and Sp Teams

bellevue won because of their special teams and unions turnovers now get rid of both and we have a close game that may or may not have come with a different outcome

    grindy?

  155. PopPrep on November 30th, 2009 6:43 pm

Every year the Bellevue dynasty gets dimmer and dimmer. As a Bellevue native I can safely say that the Bellevue we have now pales in comparison to what we have had before. I believe we are on the start of a slow decline. We didn’t dominate our out of state games.

Come back and tell me with a straight face that our Offense did anything special this last friday. Not even Mighty Katy stopped us the way Union did. That our defense wasn’t starting to show cracks as Union was starting to break huge 10+ yard gains in the 2nd half.

You won on the foot of our star kicker and guess what, hes gone net year. And that kicker was something special, I don’t think Bellevue has a healthy supply of those.

All of our star running backs, our star defense players, they are ALL going. And the class I see coming up, like I stated earlier, is the start of a slow decline.

What I see coming out of the south is more potential. How about that Camas team coming back with practically all of those receivers and Grindy. How about Union who is so deep in talent they probably have their dominance “secured” (for the most part) for the next 2 years? Their class coming up has gotten more playing time than the average new starting team in the state that’s for sure. And add to it, how about those youth football kids making it all the way to the National Championship I hear? The south is going to remain a threat for a long time to come.

I for one didn’t feel all that proud of Bellevue when they won. They didn’t dominate as a team, 2 key players showed up and made key plays, I don’t know where the rest were.

We didn’t dominate, and we better start pulling out more plays because Liberty probably won’t make mistakes, and we aren’t looking all that impressive.

  156. Bryan Levesque on November 30th, 2009 6:53 pm

    SWfan44 –

I don’t know about that, but we (gshlfootball.com) are releasing our own All-League team that takes in all 18 GSHL schools. That should be out in a few days. :-)

  157. Randy Martin on November 30th, 2009 8:20 pm

A few points jump to mind:

    1) 2 Union turnovers led to 6 Bellevue points, the point difference in the game.
    2) Union owned the line of scrimmage on defense for most of the game, but couldn’t stop Bellevue’s offense during a 9+ minute drive in the second half, when Union needed a stop to get back in the game.
    3) I don’t think Bellevue had a run longer than 6 or 7 yards, which is a tribute to Union’s defensive execution.
    4) After a slow first half, Penaranda ran with purpose in the second half, especially on his touchdown run.

I am more optimistic than PopPrep about Bellevue’s future, but it would not surprise me to see them miss the semi’s or finals in the near future. It’s not a birthright, it has to be earned. It’s tough to keep dynasties going long-term…

we lost… but we played with pride and fought til the last second. one more thing, at least we were still playing.

but leave it alone.. they made THE PLAy when it counteed. congrats to them

player – i dont know how you can say im one of the sickest people with a keyboard when you havent done your research… ive hardly talked smack on here, i only said the Camas Union game would be much closer than everyone was saying it was going to be (a blowout). And every Camas student wanted Union to lose, thats why its called a rivalry, im sure Union students would be rooting against Camas if their roles were switched. As for the parents, its a different story where fair play, handshakes, and regional pride is number one in their hearts.

i do think that Fan of the U is taking the whole IP address stuff wayyy out of context. its a website, for people to spread their thoughts and opinions from the games, as well as rumors (the Heritage Freshman running back). The URL says GSHLfootball, not UNIONfootball. People from all over the league has a right to share their opinions with others from the GSHL. and frankly, if people find these comments others are leaving offensive, DONT LOOK AT THEM. nobody is forcing you to, and some of these people who are saying that the thread should be shut down have obviously returned to the site to read other posts.

in my opinion, the people that are nay sayers of the site kind of like it. the players too. if its “offensive” to them, why would they read it? that doesnt make sense. or maybe even set your security on the computer to block this site for your 18 year old son (an adult by the way) if they cant handle the hype and talk.

Weller has made quite a few errors, both in the Bellevue and Camas game. Many turnovers that would have been spared had he done something different. Every Union fan was doubtful, and Camas did start the celebration early. But Union came through, and then Weller shouts to the news “I always knew we could do it!” I find that a bunch of BS. The Turnovers in the Camas game were about 80% Weller’s fault. (oh no i spoke poorly of someone on the internet! gasp!)

The only reason i draw to the Camas game so much is not only because i am a Camas student. I also refer to it because so many people were there, and also because it was probably Unions last tough game, besides Bellevue of course. Im not saying Union played poorly, i just believe they made key mistakes that cost them the close semi final game.

  160. Herby on December 1st, 2009 8:47 am

I love all the banter for next season. Lets be realistic about the 4A, I see Mt View being asked, well really told to opt up by the district so all the schools are 4A. Next lets address Skyview being #1. Henderson is a huge threat but lets not fall into the trap of he will make them the best. That happened to Heritage with the return of Grayson (team ranked #8 in state) where did that get them? He may be there featured player ala Kyrell Hudson 2 years ago and we saw what that got Evergreen(3rd place in GSHL) Union will be well coached and have some talent but lets remember the team coming up lost many JV and Frosh games over the past 3 years. From what I hear Heritage lost only 2 JV games this year and a total of 3 the last 3 years. They look to have a load of senior talent with an incredible sophomore RB and many juniors who got varsity time this season. Evergreen should be a juggernaught and compete, but will teams have them figured out? Their Frosh team took second but the JV’s struggled. Last we have Battleground. A new coach coming in may give them hope but, the talent at the top will keep them in the cellar.

I love how all you people cry about the past! All the woula coulda shouldas! Next year Kelso will have their turn at Bellevue and accomplish something Union could never do! Go Hilanders!

  162. MM Fan on December 1st, 2009 10:13 am

Mark Morris will run all over Bellvue!!! We would show them how to really run the Wing-T!!

Haha skys the limit, you have no room to talk…

  164. DCGardner on December 1st, 2009 11:24 am

Since when has Kelso done anything of note? Union brought back the sensation that Evergeen team of 2004 brought. Kelso doing the same? I don’t see it happening.

  165. Knute on December 1st, 2009 8:35 pm

Here’s my problem with you, meanmachine…here is the valuable input you offered after the Bellevue game:

“i dont understand why the Union supporters are cutting down Bellevue’s RB… Havent many of the same people who have posted above said that you should talk positively about individual players and not cut them down over the internet? Congratulate the Union defense, dont diminish the Bellevue individuals.

    Union people/fans are confusing….”

Then, of course you diminish one of the Union individuals – HYPOCRIPT!

Allow me to offer you some clarity. No one said 1 damn word about ANY specific Bellevue player, let alone any of their RB;s. Yet, you come on here & say something that is just an outright lie. Also, please tell one of the Union players to ‘do his research’ again. How funny is that?! I’m pretty sure he IS the research. Your posts are nothing but sheer contrived garbage!

I called the Union/Camas game 28/27 Union. Yet, you seem to think that EVERY Union fan was calling for a blowout.

Let me give you some of your own medicine; Camas fans calling out Union for recruting, when there were AT LEAST 3 players for Camas from outside their district?

    Camas people/fans sure are confusing….

  166. small town country boy on December 1st, 2009 9:19 pm

    Knute,

dont kid yourself. you know [darn] well that the union team and all the union supporters have the biggest heads. im glad you made it to the playoffs and represented the gshl but im also glad that you got chopped down a peg. union just isn’t a championship team. that bellevue game wasn’t as close as the score made it seem.

Also there seems to be a trend. Bellevue is the great humbler for union. they knocked out union 2 years in a row in football and last year in basketball.

  167. small town country boy on December 1st, 2009 9:21 pm

    DCGardner,

how dare you say that union brought back the sensation of the 2004 evergreen. evergreen won when they got there.

    E – NUFF said.

  168. DCGardner on December 1st, 2009 10:06 pm

They won sure, but lets also remember that ever since then they have been an utter dissipointment. Heck even the Thunder beat them for the past two years.

Union was one of the main reasons SW Washington Football is back on the radar for the first time since 2004. Face it.

  169. Knute on December 1st, 2009 10:19 pm

The word is pride, not arrogance or ‘having a big head’ Truth is, anyone who has followed a succesful program closley like many of the Titan faithful on here have done, then you would be proud too. So, lets stop the name calling. Next year Union will most likely fall in line with the rest of the GSHL, and will have to scrape & claw their way for wins (gee, what an arrogant thing to say) This was a special class of kids & a special 3 year run. The Titan fans who recognize this have no need to apologize to ANYONE for their support of these guys. They got pushed around as Sophomores, came back older, wiser & more experienced & made it to the State Championship game as Juniors. So, yeah…there were some high hopes for this season, and in my book they delivered.

It’s over and now it’s time to focus on the future. Union is just like any other school now, so stop the bashing. Union has done nothing but represent this area with class & pride. Especially last Friday night when they almost turned the tables on a team that had beaten them so soundly the year before. They represented themselves very well & to suggest otherwise is really just a dishonest statement.

These guys proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they most certainly belonged among the elite of this state. To say that the score did not accurately reflect the way the teams played is true, only you have it backwards small minded. Union played an whale of a game & held the offense that bewildered them last year to practically nothing this year. If you want to have an honest discussion I will happily give you the stats you need to know that wil back me up, but I get the impression that you are just another one of the jokers on here that say really dumb things in the hopes of provoking the inpenetrable pride of the Union supporters. So, I have no time for those of you who only want to come on here & take cheap shots at a family of guys who really should be congratulated (instead of chided) for all of their terrific achievements.

  170. meanmachine on December 1st, 2009 11:37 pm

Knute, some impenetrable pride you have for Union “scrape and crawl their way for wins” and “great 3 year run”… sounds like youre saying its over, what a spirited person you are…

and stop the name calling? dude, you just called me a hypocrite! now thats even more hypocritical than what i said earlier this month…

  171. Knute on December 1st, 2009 11:51 pm

Congratulate the Union defense, dont diminish the Bellevue individuals.

Weller has made quite a few errors, both in the Bellevue and Camas game.

Your words, kid…sorry, but your a hypocrite…and which way is it? If I say anything positive, I’m an arrogant jerk and now I can’t see anything humble?

You Camas people/fans sure are confusing

  172. Fan of the U on December 2nd, 2009 12:33 am

Small town country boy – how can you say the Bellevue/Union games wasn’t as close as the score made it sound. Did you watch it? Did you see the performance by the Union defense? Did you see the offensive effort? That game was every bit as close as the score made it seem. It was a one play or one possession game for either team. Bellevue got it done when the Titan’s didn’t, and they took a lot of time off the clock in the 3rd and 4th quarters. If Bellevue doesn’t execute as well as they did – they probably lose that game. But they did and they deserve to be congratulated. Don’t try to re-write the truth just to get a dig in on Union.

  173. Herby on December 2nd, 2009 9:16 am

DCGardner …”Union was one of the main reasons SW Washington Football is back on the radar for the first time since 2004. Face it.”

Please lets not forget the run Skyview had four years ago with the inspiration of Trey Foote when they dominated. This year with Skyview was just as amazing as well. How about the rebirth of a decent Heritage program who has made the playoffs for three straight years and had the best QB this area has ever seen.

Let us not forget that if Union is never created. Evergreen would be in the mix and making playoff runs as well as Mt. View.

Kelso has been solid with the exception of 2008 and of course Hockinson and Lacenter have done well to represent SW Washington. If anything Union has made us look silly with all their pompous attitudes when they travekl to play in playoff games. Other schools have done it with class, Union I feel hasnt.

  174. gipper on December 2nd, 2009 10:07 am

The football programs in this area with the most tradition are clearly Evergreen, Columbia River, and Mountain View. Union has only been o
pen 3 years so it is way too soon to know if they will establish a tradition.
Skyview has had 2 good years out of about 12 so they certainly do not have a tradition.

  175. GrIndyfan on December 3rd, 2009 1:21 am

Its clear that Camas is still the better team and program. Much better fans, Camas is the classiest program around with the best parents in south western Washington. Union proves time and time again that they are rude and just overall jerks when it comes to football. They don’t even know they game. They put all their best athletes on offense and consistently get burned on defense…example the Camas game when their quarterback continued to shred the defense time and time again. Camas will have the best facilities in the land when all is said and done Union may move up a division next year but Camas will still have their number and continue their dominance as the best program in south western Washington. Union does everything the wrong way, they put the ball on the turf and until their coaching staff makes a change in philosophy or personnel Camas will still have the upper hand. The worst thing that could happen to Union is Brian Kelly nobody is going to touch this kid he will be a union killer for 4 years. There’s a dynasty brewing folks…………and it aint in Vancouver.

  176. mr. on December 3rd, 2009 2:35 am

Grindyfan, union isn’t in vancouver… so your claim is true. However, its just not the team from camas you’re that your thinking of.

  177. Knute on December 3rd, 2009 8:36 am

…and people say Union is arrogant.

I love how it’s ‘clear that Camas is the best team & overall program’ perhaps a little fact checking might be in order, then re-think that statement.

GSHL, there’s the real Camas that everyone has forgotten about becaue your all too pre-occupied killing Union…on here, anyways. Camas couldn’t say things like this during the season because they lost to 2 other GSHL schools, and really should have lost to BG. Yet, as soon as the season ends they must remind us of their ‘dominance’. uh, excuse me but what about the 2 teams that actually did accomplish something this year?

The above statement is pervasive in Camas. There is pride, then there is arrogance. All schools have pride, no school is this arrogant. More name calling too, another sure sign of class & sportsmanship. Keep having Union’s number, so far that’s netted you 1 win in 3 years, and that lone win was against a bunch of Sophomores, a handful of Juniors and zero Seniors.

The air is thin on Prune HIll, but that’s no excuse to live in some alternative form of reality.

  178. Football Guy on December 3rd, 2009 8:46 am

Grindy Fan–Win a playoff game and then let’s talk.

Union 3 years old and 5 state playoff wins.

Camas how old? No state playoff wins.

    Huh…Makes you wonder doesn’t it.

  179. Titan fan on December 3rd, 2009 8:52 am

A little biased there Grindyfan or should I just call you Brian Kelly? That is another stupid post that cuts down Union and pumps up the almighty Papermakers. They don’t know the game? Then tell me why they have beaten you two of three times and the first was with mostly sophomores and a few Juniors.

Also, lets not say that showing spirit by flying flags and parents getting excited about their kids is embarrassing. A little over the top, sometimes, but every school gets caught up in their team’s playoff run. Camas will make a great run next year, lets support them because they are from the GSHL and not say they are embarrassing because of the support they show. Every school has their idiot fans, they don’t represent the whole school.

  180. Fan of the U on December 3rd, 2009 9:28 am

Memo to all- Union is not in Camas. It is a Camas mailing address because the zip code has not been updated to be current with the city limits. Union is in the Evergreen School District. The Police Officer at the school is a Vancouver Police Officer – because it’s in the City of Vancouver.
There is a lot of Union envy on here. It’s been amazing watching the success of the school and it’s programs. Stay proud Titans – we know the truth.

  181. DCGardner on December 3rd, 2009 10:16 am

Envy is a natural bi-product of success.

I guess as Union fans and in my case alumni, all we can do is just get used to it.

Also, Grindyfan is it? I think your going to be pretty good next year on offense passing, this much is true. But you have more problems to deal with. You don’t have any running game next year, Period. Your gameplan will be very easy to guess (I wonder if they are going to pass…) and adjust for. And your defense is losing one of the great DB’s along with your anchor linebacker and lineman. Let’s not forget that 3 of the huge linemen that gave Grindy all that protection is out too.

So don’t put Camas too far up the pedestal just because Union is reloading in Union talent Camas fans, because your doing the same thing.

And who has a clue what’s going to happen for Camas in 2011! But I will let that nightmare for the Camas fans alone for now…

  182. 40 on December 3rd, 2009 11:51 am

Most of us camas fans know Union has been better these last two years.

  183. 40 on December 3rd, 2009 11:54 am

lets wait till brian kelly gets out of middle school before we see how good he will be grindyfan. There are always kids who dominate a youngsters and then come back down as other kids catch up a bit physically. For Camas’ sake, I hope he will be as good as alot of people think.

  184. GSHL Observer on December 3rd, 2009 12:15 pm

Can we just stop the Camas – Union banter until spring time already. This is ridiculous to say the least. It was a very good year for the GSHL who represented both levels at playoff time with Camas, Union, CR, Skyview & Heritage.

There is obviously some resentment that has grown over the past few years with these two schools but it should be nothing more than a rivalry and you move on after the game is played until you meet again. I’m certain this forum has opened up an avenue for many to come on here and “trash talk” the other and at times even the H.S. player. Almost like giving a youngster free time with no supervision… it’s inevitable he/she will abuse it just as many have on here.

There are MANY great players in this area on EVERY team so let’s focus on making the GSHL the best it can possibly be without all the slander and personal attacks. Other folks, leagues come on here and read this stuff and most certainly don’t understand the dissentionn among our area schools. It’s no wonder why people stereo-type others after reading some of the post on here. Sometimes perception is reality and people will be who they are but I have to believe that some where lost in all the back in fourth banter and scuttle butt is good football played in SW Washington that we can ALL be proud of.

  185. 40 on December 3rd, 2009 1:18 pm

Can we just switch it over to basketball observer? I’ll fire the 1st shot. Union sucks and camas will beat them 100-0.

  186. Titan fan on December 3rd, 2009 2:44 pm

100-0 no way that happens. Saylor will hit one free throw of a 1 and 1 to make it 100-1.

  187. 40 on December 3rd, 2009 3:33 pm

No way titan fan, saylor will still be rusty after the long football season and miss the front end of the 1 and 1 to keep the score 100-0.

  190. Camas Fan on December 3rd, 2009 4:27 pm

  191. GSHL Observer on December 3rd, 2009 4:30 pm

Sounds good 40. Since I am neither a Camas or Union supporter of basketball, I can only add that IMO Camas will defeat Union when they play. I hear MV has a 6’8″ post player that is pretty good.

  192. 40 on December 3rd, 2009 4:47 pm

should be good when they play, the last few years union seems to have gotten the better of us more then we have of them if my memory is correct.

Camas lost 78-69 or something close to that last night to centenial.

  197. titan fan on December 3rd, 2009 8:22 pm

But Union beat them by 20 in the district playoff. But it should be a good series this year when Union gets everyone from football back.

  198. 40 on December 3rd, 2009 8:56 pm

thats the game that was sticking in my mind. I’d rather win that one then the 2 in the regular season.

  199. Bryan Levesque on December 3rd, 2009 10:32 pm

DCGardner – Who cares about basketball?

    40 – i do

    okay,

if i were to also run a gshlbasketball.com site, how many people would follow that?

Do any of you think there would be the same support for basketball as we have had for football?

  200. meanmachine on December 3rd, 2009 11:06 pm

bryan – i think that not many people would look at it. half that check out this site. maybe more. but i would definately check it out. and you should have some way to get the word out to the schools in the GSHL. i think if you were to announce something at the games, the students at the game would care if they were at the game…

    my vote is a yes!

  201. 40 on December 4th, 2009 9:52 am

i don’t know if you need to make another website right now(that would be alot of work for something that might not be a big draw), but maybe do some basketball features on here to see what kind of response they get.

  202. Titan fan on December 4th, 2009 10:04 am

To be honest, I would think that there would be just as big of a following as football. Like 40 said, could you combine the two? That would be great.

  203. GSHL Observer on December 4th, 2009 10:13 am

Maybe even carry the same features on this site into the spring for baseball as well to see what interest if any is generated. I know for certain this area has become a hot-bed for baseball and many folks would like a site such as this one for area exposure. Just a thought.

  204. Really? on December 4th, 2009 12:13 pm

The more exposure/recognition for kids, the better. Having said that, I wouldn’t include any of the spring sports. Have you been to a HS baseball game? There are hardly any fans (other than parents and girlfriends). Similar to boys soccer, girls soccer, track, volleyball, girls basketball, wrestling, etc. While there are certainly contests (in all sports) that do generate interest, overall there isn’t much compared to FB and boys BB. I would guess, and its just a guess, that none of the spring sports would generate much interest.

  205. 40 on December 4th, 2009 2:33 pm

just curious Bryan, what kind of time commitment is running this site?

  206. SHS fan from EWU on December 4th, 2009 3:25 pm

Haha, Skview girls gain plenty of interest, the volleyball and basketball games have generated much bigger crowds than the guys basketball team.

    Go Storm

    40 – A LOT! :-)

  208. It's ME on December 4th, 2009 6:41 pm

OTHER SPORTS??? Please, Dont do it Bryan!!!

Keep it football dominant if anything maybe expand with a “recruitment” page or something like that…I would think that you could create a relationship with some them folks from up North and be a area guy that can give the so called top schools, their players and booster a way for deeper insight to the players from SW Washington.

Football is king pure and simple!

  209. Knute on December 4th, 2009 9:35 pm

Bryan, yes – of course it would be great to have a similar site for basketball. Why would anyone want less information about prep sports in this area?? I will agree that some kind of expanded coverage on recruiting would be very interesting & the interviews you conducted over the course of the off-season were always good. Hope to see more of those in the future too. Put me down as a enthusiastic ‘yes’ on B-Ball!

P.S. the polls that you used to do were always good too, missed them this year. Maybe a poll for this question is in order? Also, like, dislike button would make the greatest web site in the world just that much better!

  210. SWfan44 on December 5th, 2009 12:20 pm

forget basketball… too much effort for you and it would just take away from football

  211. meanmachine on December 6th, 2009 10:13 pm

SWfan44, i dont see how making a basketball component to the site will take away from football. Football is now over, and there hasnt been a new post in about a week or so. and basketball season is now upon us, with stories to be told, and a site that has fallen quite dead, except for a few posts.

of course, it is up to bryan, to decide if he wants to double his time updating the site for football AND basketball, but that wont take away from football at all.

  212. Bryan Levesque on December 6th, 2009 10:48 pm

hold on now, it has only been 5 days since my last post, and that is because i have been working on something. I think it will be worth the wait, but good point…

  213. Foolish on December 8th, 2009 6:57 pm

Why do you people immediatly think GrindyFan is someone from Camas. I garauntee no one is ignorant enough to jump on here from Camas and start putting down Union the way GrindyFan did. He is either
    a) a union fan trying to [tick] people off. or
    b) some kid that goes to a different school and likes to see people argue.
Either way I really don’t think that guy is from Camas…why would his name be GrindyFan???
Call me stupid, but don’t be ignorant.

  214. really? on January 13th, 2010 1:14 pm

After the Union Camas game Union fans critisized the Camas fans for making excuses about the game and that Camas got lucky and they cant hang with a good team. Isnt this exactly what Union fans are doing now? They got lucky Bellvue couldnt get their offense going on that night and now they need to stop making excuses. Union is not so much better than all the other schools in Clark County like they obviously believe. Next year will be a great eye opener for Titan fans that they need to get of the high horse and just play football like everyone else. Top two teams in Clark County next year, Camas and Skyview, no doubt about it. Sorry Union good luck in 4A.

  215. PopPrep on January 15th, 2010 3:22 pm

Camas has to get 3 things going to even have a chance of going all the way next year.

    1. An O-Line, if they can’t get a good O-Line going this year they are going to be in a world of hurt. The other teams in 3A are going to be composed of more Seniors and Juniors this year than they were last year and that means bigger and stronger defense. If the Camas O-Line can’t protect Grindy they will have to hope he can scramble out of everything.

    2. Camas needs to develop a bigger running game. Grindy can’t pass all night and anyone will know straight out of the box that Camas is just going to pass all night because they can. But that makes for a very very VERY predictable offense and if coupled with point #1 could result in disaster.

    3. Defense. Plain and simple, they lost some stars this year and I don’t know how they are going to fully reload but I am sure they can.

    P.S.

They also need to keep Grindy healthy, once Grindy is gone the whole offense will come to a grinding halt if point #2 happens.

  216. Just Sayin' on January 17th, 2010 8:54 am

Nice timely remark, Really… I wonder if the Union defense had anything to do with Bellevue not getting their offense going…gee, wonder if that might have been the reason. In my opinion, no other school has any reason to say boo to Union, because no other Clark County team has beat them in 2 years. Yeah, who knows about next year. But, you can’t take anything away from what Union accomplished this past season. To do so is just an uninformed statement.

Got something to say?
