Union Advances To State With 21-7 Win Over Rainier Beach

Written by Bryan Levesque on November 7, 2008

The Union Titans jumped out to an early 14-0 first quarter lead on the Rainier Beach Vikings following a 20 yard touchdown pass from Brandon Weller to Tyler Coad, and a 11 yard run by Blake Russell. Vikings QB Marcus Allen-Wells ran in from 3 yards out to cut the lead to 14-7 in the second quarter. The score remained 14-7 late into the fourth quarter until Union FB Zak Browning put the game out of reach for Rainier Beach with a 12 yard run to give the Titans the 21-7 lead and eventual win. Union will host the Timberline Blazers (8-2) in the first round of State next weekend at McKenzie Stadium.
