Union had another big first quarter as the Titans scored 3 TD’s on 15 plays, then never looked back in a 59-0 home win over the Prairie Falcons.

Union went 54 yards in 4 plays to start the game when QB Brandon Weller hit WR Nathan Penaranda from 20 yards out. Following a Prairie punt, the Titnas then drove 80 yards in 10 plays as RB Blake Russell ran in from 5 yards out. Union DB Brandon Kent then picked off Prairie QB Coleman Weisenborn, and ran it back to the Falcons 12. On the next play Weller hit WR Mitch Saylor to give the Titans a 21-0 lead.

Prairie DB Tim McGarthy stopped the next Titans drive, picking off Weller at the Falcons 10 and running it back to the Titans 41. Prairie then mounted its best drive of the game, going 40 yards in 10 plays before being stopped on 4th and goal from the 1.

Union responded with a 8 play 99 yard drive capped off by a 7 yard TD pass from Weller to TE Taylor Nelson, giving Union a 28-0 halftime lead.

In the second half Union again scored early, as Russell found the end zone again, this time a monster 66 yard running threw a number of Prairie defenders. Titnas K Jed Barnett added a 33 yard FG to make the score 38-0 before Russell ran in his 3rd TD of the night, this time from 6 yards out with 3:28 remaining in the 3rd, giving Union a 45-0 lead.

In the 4th quarter, RB Brandon Brody-Heim ran in a TD from 21 yards out pushing the Titans lead to 52-0. Following the kick off, DB Matt Merlino picked off Weisenborn and ran it back 26 yards for the score. Merlino earned the final 5 yards as he ran through a handful of Falcon defenders to get there.
