Former Evergreen coach Cale Piland leads Union to a 35-14 win over the Plainsmen.

The Union Titans improved to 2-0 with a surprising 35-14 win over the defending GSHL 4A champs, the Evergreen Plainsmen. Evergreen falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss.

Union jumped out to an early 21-0 lead only to see Evergreen score 14 unanswered. That was as close as the Plainsmen would get to the Titans as Union scored twice more for the win.

The crowd at McKenzie stadium witnessed the big play abilities of Evergreen’s Kyrell Hudson and Union’s Mitch Saylor as Hudson scored on a 67 yard run and a 70 yard punt return while Saylor added an 80 yard TD run and 39 yard TD reception for the Titans.

Titan’s RB Blake Russell and Zak Browning also ground out a lot of yards on the night.
