Washougal 2009 Spring Practice Breakdown

June 26, 2009

As spring practice comes to a close, what are your initial thoughts about your team?

Coach Gibson – Great kids with a willingness to improve, compete and care for each other.  They are fun to be around and great young men.

Who are 3-4 of your returning players from last year’s Varsity team?

Coach Gibson – We are a young group.  However, they are investing time in the weight room and are getting faster and stronger.  We have great expectations for this group.

What players were not on the Varsity last season who you expect to be impact players this season?

Coach Gibson – We have a good young group of sophomores and juniors.  As they continue to develop this summer in the weightroom, there could be many of them that make an impact at the varsity level.

About how many players are you expecting to turn out in the fall?

Coach Gibson – We are expecting around 70 student-athletes to come out in the fall.

What are your goals as a team for the 2009 season?

Coach Gibson – Realize our potential and work each day to reach that potential in the classroom, on the football field and in our relationships.
